1 There is, then, now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit;
ye janaa. h khrii. s.ta. m yii"sum aa"sritya "saariirika. m naacaranta aatmikamaacaranti te. adhunaa da. n.daarhaa na bhavanti|
2 for the law of the Spirit of the life in Christ Jesus did set me free from the law of the sin and of the death;
jiivanadaayakasyaatmano vyavasthaa khrii. s.tayii"sunaa paapamara. nayo rvyavasthaato maamamocayat|
3 for what the law was not able to do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, His own Son having sent in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, did condemn the sin in the flesh,
yasmaacchaariirasya durbbalatvaad vyavasthayaa yat karmmaasaadhyam ii"svaro nijaputra. m paapi"sariiraruupa. m paapanaa"sakabaliruupa nca pre. sya tasya "sariire paapasya da. n.da. m kurvvan tatkarmma saadhitavaan|
4 that the righteousness of the law may be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
tata. h "saariirika. m naacaritvaasmaabhiraatmikam aacaradbhirvyavasthaagranthe nirddi. s.taani pu. nyakarmmaa. ni sarvvaa. ni saadhyante|
5 For those who are according to the flesh, the things of the flesh do mind; and those according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit;
ye "saariirikaacaari. naste "saariirikaan vi. sayaan bhaavayanti ye caatmikaacaari. naste aatmano vi. sayaan bhaavayanti|
6 for the mind of the flesh [is] death, and the mind of the Spirit — life and peace;
"saariirikabhaavasya phala. m m. rtyu. h ki ncaatmikabhaavasya phale jiivana. m "saanti"sca|
7 because the mind of the flesh [is] enmity to God, for to the law of God it doth not subject itself,
yata. h "saariirikabhaava ii"svarasya viruddha. h "satrutaabhaava eva sa ii"svarasya vyavasthaayaa adhiino na bhavati bhavitu nca na "saknoti|
8 for neither is it able; and those who are in the flesh are not able to please God.
etasmaat "saariirikaacaari. su to. s.tum ii"svare. na na "sakya. m|
9 And ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God doth dwell in you; and if any one hath not the Spirit of Christ — this one is not His;
kintvii"svarasyaatmaa yadi yu. smaaka. m madhye vasati tarhi yuuya. m "saariirikaacaari. no na santa aatmikaacaari. no bhavatha. h| yasmin tu khrii. s.tasyaatmaa na vidyate sa tatsambhavo nahi|
10 and if Christ [is] in you, the body, indeed, [is] dead because of sin, and the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness,
yadi khrii. s.to yu. smaan adhiti. s.thati tarhi paapam uddi"sya "sariira. m m. rta. m kintu pu. nyamuddi"syaatmaa jiivati|
11 and if the Spirit of Him who did raise up Jesus out of the dead doth dwell in you, He who did raise up the Christ out of the dead shall quicken also your dying bodies, through His Spirit dwelling in you.
m. rtaga. naad yii"su ryenotthaapitastasyaatmaa yadi yu. smanmadhye vasati tarhi m. rtaga. naat khrii. s.tasya sa utthaapayitaa yu. smanmadhyavaasinaa svakiiyaatmanaa yu. smaaka. m m. rtadehaanapi puna rjiivayi. syati|
12 So, then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh;
he bhraat. rga. na "sariirasya vayamadhamar. naa na bhavaamo. ata. h "saariirikaacaaro. asmaabhi rna karttavya. h|
13 for if according to the flesh ye do live, ye are about to die; and if, by the Spirit, the deeds of the body ye put to death, ye shall live;
yadi yuuya. m "sariirikaacaari. no bhaveta tarhi yu. smaabhi rmarttavyameva kintvaatmanaa yadi "sariirakarmmaa. ni ghaatayeta tarhi jiivi. syatha|
14 for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God;
yato yaavanto lokaa ii"svarasyaatmanaak. r.syante te sarvva ii"svarasya santaanaa bhavanti|
15 for ye did not receive a spirit of bondage again for fear, but ye did receive a spirit of adoption in which we cry, 'Abba — Father.'
yuuya. m punarapi bhayajanaka. m daasyabhaava. m na praaptaa. h kintu yena bhaavene"svara. m pita. h pitariti procya sambodhayatha taad. r"sa. m dattakaputratvabhaavam praapnuta|
16 The Spirit himself doth testify with our spirit, that we are children of God;
apara nca vayam ii"svarasya santaanaa etasmin pavitra aatmaa svayam asmaakam aatmaabhi. h saarddha. m pramaa. na. m dadaati|
17 and if children, also heirs, heirs, indeed, of God, and heirs together of Christ — if, indeed, we suffer together, that we may also be glorified together.
ataeva vaya. m yadi santaanaastarhyadhikaari. na. h, arthaad ii"svarasya svattvaadhikaari. na. h khrii. s.tena sahaadhikaari. na"sca bhavaama. h; apara. m tena saarddha. m yadi du. hkhabhaagino bhavaamastarhi tasya vibhavasyaapi bhaagino bhavi. syaama. h|
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of the present time [are] not worthy [to be compared] with the glory about to be revealed in us;
kintvasmaasu yo bhaaviivibhava. h prakaa"si. syate tasya samiipe varttamaanakaaliina. m du. hkhamaha. m t. r.naaya manye|
19 for the earnest looking out of the creation doth expect the revelation of the sons of God;
yata. h praa. niga. na ii"svarasya santaanaanaa. m vibhavapraaptim aakaa"nk. san nitaantam apek. sate|
20 for to vanity was the creation made subject — not of its will, but because of Him who did subject [it] — in hope,
apara nca praa. niga. na. h svairam aliikataayaa va"siik. rto naabhavat
21 that also the creation itself shall be set free from the servitude of the corruption to the liberty of the glory of the children of God;
kintu praa. niga. no. api na"svarataadhiinatvaat mukta. h san ii"svarasya santaanaanaa. m paramamukti. m praapsyatiityabhipraaye. na va"siikartraa va"siicakre|
22 for we have known that all the creation doth groan together, and doth travail in pain together till now.
apara nca prasuuyamaanaavad vyathita. h san idaanii. m yaavat k. rtsna. h praa. niga. na aarttasvara. m karotiiti vaya. m jaaniima. h|
23 And not only [so], but also we ourselves, having the first-fruit of the Spirit, we also ourselves in ourselves do groan, adoption expecting — the redemption of our body;
kevala. h sa iti nahi kintu prathamajaataphalasvaruupam aatmaana. m praaptaa vayamapi dattakaputratvapadapraaptim arthaat "sariirasya mukti. m pratiik. samaa. naastadvad antaraarttaraava. m kurmma. h|
24 for in hope we were saved, and hope beheld is not hope; for what any one doth behold, why also doth he hope for [it]?
vaya. m pratyaa"sayaa traa. nam alabhaamahi kintu pratyak. savastuno yaa pratyaa"saa saa pratyaa"saa nahi, yato manu. syo yat samiik. sate tasya pratyaa"saa. m kuta. h kari. syati?
25 and if what we do not behold we hope for, through continuance we expect [it].
yad apratyak. sa. m tasya pratyaa"saa. m yadi vaya. m kurvviimahi tarhi dhairyyam avalambya pratiik. saamahe|
26 And, in like manner also, the Spirit doth help our weaknesses; for, what we may pray for, as it behoveth [us], we have not known, but the Spirit himself doth make intercession for us with groanings unutterable,
tata aatmaapi svayam asmaaka. m durbbalataayaa. h sahaayatva. m karoti; yata. h ki. m praarthitavya. m tad boddhu. m vaya. m na "saknuma. h, kintvaspa. s.tairaarttaraavairaatmaa svayam asmannimitta. m nivedayati|
27 and He who is searching the hearts hath known what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because according to God he doth intercede for saints.
aparam ii"svaraabhimataruupe. na pavitralokaanaa. m k. rte nivedayati ya aatmaa tasyaabhipraayo. antaryyaaminaa j naayate|
28 And we have known that to those loving God all things do work together for good, to those who are called according to purpose;
aparam ii"svariiyaniruupa. naanusaare. naahuutaa. h santo ye tasmin priiyante sarvvaa. ni militvaa te. saa. m ma"ngala. m saadhayanti, etad vaya. m jaaniima. h|
29 because whom He did foreknow, He also did fore-appoint, conformed to the image of His Son, that he might be first-born among many brethren;
yata ii"svaro bahubhraat. r.naa. m madhye svaputra. m jye. s.tha. m karttum icchan yaan puurvva. m lak. syiik. rtavaan taan tasya pratimuurtyaa. h saad. r"syapraaptyartha. m nyayu. mkta|
30 and whom He did fore-appoint, these also He did call; and whom He did call, these also He declared righteous; and whom He declared righteous, these also He did glorify.
apara nca tena ye niyuktaasta aahuutaa api ye ca tenaahuutaaste sapu. nyiik. rtaa. h, ye ca tena sapu. nyiik. rtaaste vibhavayuktaa. h|
31 What, then, shall we say unto these things? if God [is] for us, who [is] against us?
ityatra vaya. m ki. m bruuma. h? ii"svaro yadyasmaaka. m sapak. so bhavati tarhi ko vipak. so. asmaaka. m?
32 He who indeed His own Son did not spare, but for us all did deliver him up, how shall He not also with him the all things grant to us?
aatmaputra. m na rak. sitvaa yo. asmaaka. m sarvve. saa. m k. rte ta. m pradattavaan sa ki. m tena sahaasmabhyam anyaani sarvvaa. ni na daasyati?
33 Who shall lay a charge against the choice ones of God? God [is] He that is declaring righteous,
ii"svarasyaabhirucite. su kena do. sa aaropayi. syate? ya ii"svarastaan pu. nyavata iva ga. nayati ki. m tena?
34 who [is] he that is condemning? Christ [is] He that died, yea, rather also, was raised up; who is also on the right hand of God — who also doth intercede for us.
apara. m tebhyo da. n.dadaanaaj naa vaa kena kari. syate? yo. asmannimitta. m praa. naan tyaktavaan kevala. m tanna kintu m. rtaga. namadhyaad utthitavaan, api ce"svarasya dak. si. ne paar"sve ti. s.than adyaapyasmaaka. m nimitta. m praarthata evambhuuto ya. h khrii. s.ta. h ki. m tena?
35 Who shall separate us from the love of the Christ? tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
asmaabhi. h saha khrii. s.tasya premaviccheda. m janayitu. m ka. h "saknoti? kle"so vyasana. m vaa taa. danaa vaa durbhik. sa. m vaa vastrahiinatva. m vaa praa. nasa. m"sayo vaa kha"ngo vaa kimetaani "saknuvanti?
36 (according as it hath been written — 'For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long, we were reckoned as sheep of slaughter,')
kintu likhitam aaste, yathaa, vaya. m tava nimitta. m smo m. rtyuvaktre. akhila. m dina. m| balirdeyo yathaa me. so vaya. m ga. nyaamahe tathaa|
37 but in all these we more than conquer, through him who loved us;
apara. m yo. asmaasu priiyate tenaitaasu vipatsu vaya. m samyag vijayaamahe|
38 for I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor messengers, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present,
yato. asmaaka. m prabhunaa yii"sukhrii. s.tene"svarasya yat prema tasmaad asmaaka. m viccheda. m janayitu. m m. rtyu rjiivana. m vaa divyaduutaa vaa balavanto mukhyaduutaa vaa varttamaano vaa bhavi. syan kaalo vaa uccapada. m vaa niicapada. m vaapara. m kimapi s. r.s. tavastu
39 nor things about to be, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of god, that [is] in Christ Jesus our Lord.
