Romans 2
1 Therefore, thou art inexcusable, O man — every one who is judging — for in that in which thou dost judge the other, thyself thou dost condemn, for the same things thou dost practise who art judging,
ആകയാൽ ശിക്ഷവിധിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യാ, നീ ആരുമായിക്കൊള്ളട്ടെ, നിനക്ക് ഒരു ന്യായീകരണവും പറയാനില്ല. മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ശിക്ഷവിധിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ നീ നിന്നെത്തന്നെയാണ് ശിക്ഷവിധിക്കുന്നത്. കാരണം, ഏതു കാര്യത്തിനു മറ്റൊരാളെ ശിക്ഷവിധിക്കുന്നോ അതേകാര്യം നീയും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ.
2 and we have known that the judgment of God is according to truth, upon those practising such things.
ഇത്തരം പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്കെതിരേ ദൈവം സത്യം ആധാരമാക്കി ശിക്ഷവിധിക്കുമെന്ന് നമുക്കറിയാം.
3 And dost thou think this, O man, who art judging those who such things are practising, and art doing them, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
അതുകൊണ്ട് ഹേ മനുഷ്യാ, അത്തരം പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ചെയ്യുന്നവരെ ശിക്ഷവിധിച്ചിട്ട് അതേ പ്രവൃത്തിതന്നെ ചെയ്യുന്ന നിനക്കു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശിക്ഷാവിധിയിൽനിന്ന് രക്ഷപ്പെടാൻ സാധിക്കും എന്നു നീ വിചാരിക്കുന്നുണ്ടോ?
4 or the riches of His goodness, and forbearance, and long-suffering, dost thou despise? — not knowing that the goodness of God doth lead thee to reformation!
ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദയ നിന്നെ മാനസാന്തരത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്നതിനാണെന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിയാതെ നീ അവിടത്തെ സമൃദ്ധമായ ദയയും സഹിഷ്ണുതയും ദീർഘക്ഷമയും നിസ്സാരമായി കരുതുകയാണോ?
5 but, according to thy hardness and impenitent heart, thou dost treasure up to thyself wrath, in a day of wrath and of the revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
എന്നാൽ, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നീതിയുള്ള വിധി വെളിപ്പെടുന്ന ക്രോധദിവസത്തേക്കു, നിന്റെ ശാഠ്യവും അനുതാപമില്ലാത്ത ഹൃദയവും നിമിത്തം നിനക്കുതന്നെ ദൈവക്രോധം ശേഖരിച്ചുവെക്കുകയാണ്.
6 who shall render to each according to his works;
ദൈവം “ഓരോ വ്യക്തിക്കും അവനവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കനുസരിച്ചു പകരംചെയ്യും.”
7 to those, indeed, who in continuance of a good work, do seek glory, and honour, and incorruptibility — life age-during; (aiōnios g166)
നിരന്തരം നന്മപ്രവൃത്തികൾ ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടു മഹത്ത്വവും മാനവും അനശ്വരതയും അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അവിടന്നു നിത്യജീവൻ നൽകും. (aiōnios g166)
8 and to those contentious, and disobedient, indeed, to the truth, and obeying the unrighteousness — indignation and wrath,
എന്നാൽ, സത്യം അനുസരിക്കാതെ സ്വാർഥചിന്തയോടുകൂടി ദുഷ്ടതയെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നവരുടെമേൽ കോപവും ക്രോധവും വർഷിക്കും.
9 tribulation and distress, upon every soul of man that is working the evil, both of Jew first, and of Greek;
തിന്മചെയ്യുന്ന ഏതു മനുഷ്യജീവിക്കും ഒന്നാമതു യെഹൂദനും പിന്നീട് യെഹൂദേതരനും പീഡയും സങ്കടവും ഉണ്ടാകും.
10 and glory, and honour, and peace, to every one who is working the good, both to Jew first, and to Greek.
എന്നാൽ, നന്മ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവർക്കെല്ലാം, ഒന്നാമതു യെഹൂദനും പിന്നീട് യെഹൂദേതരനും മഹത്ത്വവും ബഹുമാനവും സമാധാനവും ലഭിക്കും;
11 For there is no acceptance of faces with God,
കാരണം, ദൈവം പക്ഷഭേദം ഇല്ലാത്തവനാണ്.
12 for as many as without law did sin, without law also shall perish, and as many as did sin in law, through law shall be judged,
ന്യായപ്രമാണം ലഭിക്കാതെ പാപംചെയ്ത യെഹൂദേതരരെല്ലാം ന്യായപ്രമാണംകൂടാതെതന്നെ നശിക്കും. ന്യായപ്രമാണം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും പാപംചെയ്ത യെഹൂദരെല്ലാം ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ ശിക്ഷവിധിക്കപ്പെടും.
13 for not the hearers of the law [are] righteous before God, but the doers of the law shall be declared righteous: —
ന്യായപ്രമാണം വെറുതേ കേൾക്കുന്നവരല്ല, ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ; ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിക്കുന്നവരാണ് നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത്.
14 For, when nations that have not a law, by nature may do the things of the law, these not having a law — to themselves are a law;
ന്യായപ്രമാണം ഇല്ലാത്ത യെഹൂദേതരർ അവ കേൾക്കാതെ സ്വാഭാവികമായിത്തന്നെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുശാസിക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങൾ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ തങ്ങൾക്കുതന്നെ ഒരു ന്യായപ്രമാണമായിത്തീരുന്നു.
15 who do shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also witnessing with them, and between one another the thoughts accusing or else defending,
അവരുടെ ചിന്തകൾ അവരെ കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തുകയോ ന്യായീകരിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തും അവരുടെ മനസ്സാക്ഷികൂടെ അതിനു സാക്ഷ്യംവഹിച്ചും ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുശാസിക്കുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികൾ അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ എഴുതപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതായി കാണിക്കുന്നു.
16 in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men, according to my good news, through Jesus Christ.
ഞാൻ പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്ന സുവിശേഷം അനുസരിച്ച് ഒരു ദിവസം ദൈവം യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിലൂടെ മനുഷ്യരുടെ രഹസ്യങ്ങളെ ന്യായംവിധിക്കും.
17 Lo, thou art named a Jew, and dost rest upon the law, and dost boast in God,
എന്നാൽ, നീ നിന്നെത്തന്നെ യെഹൂദൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കുകയും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുകയും ദൈവത്തോടുള്ള ബന്ധത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് ആത്മപ്രശംസ നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നല്ലോ.
18 and dost know the will, and dost approve the distinctions, being instructed out of the law,
നീ ന്യായപ്രമാണം പഠിച്ചതിന്റെ ഫലമായി ദൈവഹിതം തിരിച്ചറിയുകയും ഉത്തമമായത് അംഗീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നല്ലോ;
19 and hast confidence that thou thyself art a leader of blind ones, a light of those in darkness,
ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെയും സത്യത്തിന്റെയും സാക്ഷാത്കാരം ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽനിന്നു ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് നീ അന്ധർക്കു വഴികാട്ടുന്ന വ്യക്തിയും ഇരുട്ടിലുള്ളവർക്കു പ്രകാശവും
20 an instructor of foolish ones, a teacher of babes, having the form of the knowledge and of the truth in the law.
മൂഢർക്ക് പരിശീലകനും ശിശുക്കൾക്ക് അധ്യാപകനും ആണെന്നും പൂർണനിശ്ചയമുള്ളവനായിരിക്കുന്നല്ലോ.
21 Thou, then, who art teaching another, thyself dost thou not teach?
എങ്കിൽ, മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്ന നീ എന്തുകൊണ്ട് നിന്നെത്തന്നെ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നില്ല? മോഷ്ടിക്കരുത് എന്നു പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്ന നീ മോഷ്ടിക്കുന്നോ?
22 thou who art preaching not to steal, dost thou steal? thou who art saying not to commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou who art abhorring the idols, dost thou rob temples?
വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുത് എന്നു ജനങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്ന നീ വ്യഭിചാരംചെയ്യുന്നോ? വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ വെറുക്കുന്ന നീ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ കൊള്ളയടിക്കുന്നോ?
23 thou who in the law dost boast, through the transgression of the law God dost thou dishonour?
ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെപ്പറ്റി ആത്മപ്രശംസ ചെയ്യുന്ന നീ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ലംഘിച്ച് ദൈവത്തെ അപമാനിക്കുകയാണോ?
24 for the name of God because of you is evil spoken of among the nations, according as it hath been written.
“നിങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം ദൈവനാമം യെഹൂദരല്ലാത്തവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്ദിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു” എന്നെഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നല്ലോ!
25 For circumcision, indeed, doth profit, if law thou mayest practise, but if a transgressor of law thou mayest be, thy circumcision hath become uncircumcision.
നീ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ പരിച്ഛേദനം പ്രയോജനമുള്ളതാകും; എന്നാൽ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ലംഘിച്ചാലോ നീ പരിച്ഛേദനം സ്വീകരിക്കാത്തതിനു തുല്യമായിത്തീരുന്നു.
26 If, therefore the uncircumcision the righteousness of the law may keep, shall not his uncircumcision for circumcision be reckoned?
പരിച്ഛേദനം സ്വീകരിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്തവർ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലെ വിധികളനുസരിച്ചാൽ പരിച്ഛേദനമുള്ളവരെപ്പോലെ അവരും പരിഗണിക്കപ്പെടുകയില്ലേ?
27 and the uncircumcision, by nature, fulfilling the law, shall judge thee who, through letter and circumcision, [art] a transgressor of law.
ശരീരത്തിൽ പരിച്ഛേദനം ഏൽക്കാതെതന്നെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിക്കുന്ന യെഹൂദേതരൻ, ലിഖിതനിയമസംഹിതയും പരിച്ഛേദനവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നിട്ടും നിയമം ലംഘിക്കുന്ന നിന്നെ കുറ്റംവിധിക്കും.
28 For he is not a Jew who is [so] outwardly, neither [is] circumcision that which is outward in flesh;
കാരണം, പുറമേ യെഹൂദനായിരിക്കുന്നവനല്ല യഥാർഥ യെഹൂദൻ; അതുപോലെ, യഥാർഥ പരിച്ഛേദനം, ശരീരത്തിൽ ചെയ്യുന്ന ബാഹ്യമായ ഒന്നല്ല.
29 but a Jew [is] he who is [so] inwardly, and circumcision [is] of the heart, in spirit, not in letter, of which the praise is not of men, but of God.
പിന്നെയോ, അകമേ യെഹൂദനായിരിക്കുന്നവനാണ് യഥാർഥ യെഹൂദൻ; ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലെ അക്ഷരപ്രകാരമുള്ളതല്ല, ആത്മാവിനാൽ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ഉള്ളതാണ് ശരിയായ പരിച്ഛേദനം. ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവർക്ക് മനുഷ്യരിൽനിന്നല്ല, ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നുതന്നെ പ്രശംസ ലഭിക്കും.
