< Psalms 91 >
1 He who is dwelling In the secret place of the Most High, In the shade of the Mighty lodgeth habitually,
Ko ia ʻoku nofo ʻi he potu lilo ʻi he fungani māʻolunga, ʻe nofomaʻu ia he malumalu ʻoe Māfimafi.
2 He is saying of Jehovah, 'My refuge, and my bulwark, my God, I trust in Him,'
Te u pehē, “Ko Sihova, ko hoku hūfanga ia mo ʻeku kolo: ko hoku ʻOtua te u falala kiate ia.”
3 For He delivereth thee from the snare of a fowler, From a calamitous pestilence.
Ko e moʻoni te ne fakamoʻui koe mei he hele ʻae tangata tauhele, pea mei he mahaki fakaʻauha.
4 With His pinion He covereth thee over, And under His wings thou dost trust, A shield and buckler [is] His truth.
Te ne ʻōʻōfaki koe ʻaki hono fulufulu, pea te ke falala ki hono lalo kapakau: ko ʻene moʻoni ko ho fakaū mo ho pā ia.
5 Thou art not afraid of fear by night, Of arrow that flieth by day,
ʻE ʻikai te ke manavahē koeʻuhi ko e meʻa fakailifia ʻi he pō; pe koeʻuhi ko e ngahau ʻoku puna atu ʻi he ʻaho;
6 Of pestilence in thick darkness that walketh, Of destruction that destroyeth at noon,
Pe koeʻuhi ko e mahaki lahi ʻoku ʻeveʻeva ʻi he poʻuli; pe koeʻuhi ko e fakaʻauha ʻoku fakaʻosiʻosi ʻi he hoʻatā.
7 There fall at thy side a thousand, And a myriad at thy right hand, Unto thee it cometh not nigh.
ʻE tō ʻae toko afe ʻi ho tafaʻaki, pea ko e toko mano ʻi ho nima toʻomataʻu ka ʻe ʻikai hoko ia ʻo ofi kiate koe.
8 But with thine eyes thou lookest, And the reward of the wicked thou seest,
Ka te ke vakai ʻo mamata ʻaki ho mata ki he totongi ʻoe angahala.
9 (For Thou, O Jehovah, [art] my refuge, ) The Most High thou madest thy habitation.
Koeʻuhi kuo ke fili ʻa Sihova ʻaia ko hoku hūfanga, ʻio, ko e fungani māʻolunga ko ho nofoʻanga:
10 Evil happeneth not unto thee, And a plague cometh not near thy tent,
ʻE ʻikai tō ha kovi kiate koe, pea ʻe ʻikai hoko ha mamahi fakaʻauha ke ofi ki ho nofoʻanga.
11 For His messengers He chargeth for thee, To keep thee in all thy ways,
He te ne fekau ʻene kau ʻāngelo kenau vakai koe, ke tauhi koe ʻi ho ngaahi hala kotoa pē.
12 On the hands they bear thee up, Lest thou smite against a stone thy foot.
Tenau hapai hake koe ʻi he nima, telia naʻa tūkia ho vaʻe ki ha maka.
13 On lion and asp thou treadest, Thou trampest young lion and dragon.
Te ke molomoloki ʻae laione mo e ngata: ko e laione mui mo e talākoni te ke malaki hifo ia.
14 Because in Me he hath delighted, I also deliver him — I set him on high, Because he hath known My name.
“Koeʻuhi kuo ne tuku ʻene ʻofa kiate au, ko ia te u fakamoʻui ia: te u fokotuʻu ia ke māʻolunga, koeʻuhi kuo ne ʻiloʻi hoku huafa.
15 He doth call Me, and I answer him, I [am] with him in distress, I deliver him, and honour him.
Te ne ui kiate au, pea te u talia ia: te u ʻiate ia ʻi he mamahi; te u fakamoʻui ia, pea hakeakiʻi ia.
16 With length of days I satisfy him, And I cause him to look on My salvation!
Te u fakafiemālieʻi ʻaki ia ʻae moʻui fuoloa, pea fakahā kiate ia ʻeku fakamoʻui.”
