Psalms 90

1 A Prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, a habitation Thou — Thou hast been, To us — in generation and generation,

ദൈവപുരുഷനായ മോശയുടെ ഒരു പ്രാർഥന. കർത്താവേ, തലമുറതലമുറയായി അവിടന്ന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ നിവാസസ്ഥാനമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

2 Before mountains were brought forth, And Thou dost form the earth and the world, Even from age unto age Thou [art] God.

പർവതങ്ങൾ ജനിക്കുന്നതിനും ഈ ഭൂമിക്കും പ്രപഞ്ചത്തിനും ജന്മംനൽകുന്നതിനും മുമ്പുതന്നെ, അനന്തതമുതൽ അനന്തതവരെ അവിടന്ന് ദൈവം ആകുന്നു.

3 Thou turnest man unto a bruised thing, And sayest, Turn back, ye sons of men.

“മർത്യരേ, പൊടിയിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങുക,” എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, അങ്ങ് മനുഷ്യരെ പൊടിയിലേക്ക് തിരികെ അയയ്ക്കുന്നു.

4 For a thousand years in Thine eyes [are] as yesterday, For it passeth on, yea, a watch by night.

ആയിരം വർഷം അങ്ങയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ ഇപ്പോൾ കഴിഞ്ഞുപോയ ഒരു ദിവസംപോലെയോ രാത്രിയിലെ ഒരു യാമംപോലെയോ ആകുന്നു.

5 Thou hast inundated them, they are asleep, In the morning as grass he changeth.

പ്രഭാതത്തിൽ പൊട്ടിമുളയ്ക്കുന്ന പുല്ലുപോലെ അങ്ങ് മനുഷ്യരെ പ്രളയത്തിലെന്നപോലെ മരണനിദ്രയിലേക്ക് ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുന്നു.

6 In the morning it flourisheth, and hath changed, At evening it is cut down, and hath withered.

രാവിലെ അതു മുളച്ച് വളർന്നുനിൽക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ വൈകുന്നേരം അതു വാടിക്കരിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു.

7 For we were consumed in Thine anger, And in Thy fury we have been troubled.

അവിടത്തെ കോപത്താൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ദഹിച്ചുപോകുകയും അവിടത്തെ ക്രോധത്താൽ ഞങ്ങൾ പരിഭ്രാന്തരായിത്തീരുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു.

8 Thou hast set our iniquities before Thee, Our hidden things at the light of Thy face,

അവിടന്ന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളെ അങ്ങയുടെമുന്നിലും ഞങ്ങളുടെ രഹസ്യപാപങ്ങളെ തിരുമുഖപ്രഭയിലും വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

9 For all our days pined away in Thy wrath, We consumed our years as a (meditation)

ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദിവസങ്ങളെല്ലാം അവിടത്തെ ക്രോധത്തിൻകീഴിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ വർഷങ്ങൾ ഒരു വിലാപത്തോടെ അവസാനിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

10 Days of our years, in them [are] seventy years, And if, by reason of might, eighty years, Yet [is] their enlargement labour and vanity, For it hath been cut off hastily, and we fly away.

ഞങ്ങളുടെ ആയുസ്സിന്റെ ദൈർഘ്യം എഴുപതുവർഷം, കരുത്തുള്ളവരാണെങ്കിൽ അത് എൺപതുവരെ; എന്നാൽ അതിന്റെ പ്രതാപമേറിയ വർഷങ്ങൾ കഷ്ടതയും സങ്കടവുമത്രേ, അതു വേഗം കഴിയുകയും ഞങ്ങൾ പറന്നുപോകുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു.

11 Who knoweth the power of Thine anger? And according to Thy fear — Thy wrath?

അങ്ങയുടെ കോപത്തിന്റെ ശക്തി മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ ആർക്കാണു കഴിയുക? അങ്ങയുടെ ക്രോധം അവിടത്തോട് ഞങ്ങൾക്കുണ്ടായിരിക്കേണ്ട ഭയത്തിനനുസൃതമാണല്ലോ.

12 To number our days aright let [us] know, And we bring the heart to wisdom.

ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളൊരു ഹൃദയം ലഭിക്കുന്നതിനുവേണ്ടി, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദിനങ്ങൾ എണ്ണുന്നതിന് ഞങ്ങളെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കണമേ.

13 Turn back, O Jehovah, till when? And repent concerning Thy servants.

യഹോവേ, കനിയണമേ! അങ്ങ് എത്രത്തോളം താമസിക്കും? അവിടത്തെ സേവകരോട് കനിവു തോന്നണമേ.

14 Satisfy us at morn [with] Thy kindness, And we sing and rejoice all our days.

അവിടത്തെ അചഞ്ചലസ്നേഹത്താൽ ഓരോ പ്രഭാതവും ഞങ്ങൾക്കു തൃപ്തികരമാക്കണമേ, അപ്പോൾ എല്ലാ ദിവസവും ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ആനന്ദഗാനങ്ങൾ ആലപിച്ച് ആഹ്ലാദിക്കാൻ കഴിയും.

15 Cause us to rejoice according to the days Wherein Thou hast afflicted us, The years we have seen evil.

അവിടന്ന് ഞങ്ങളെ ദുരിതമനുഭവിക്കാൻ അനുവദിച്ച നാളുകൾക്കും ഞങ്ങൾ കഷ്ടമനുഭവിച്ച വർഷങ്ങൾക്കും അനുസൃതമായി ഞങ്ങളെ ആനന്ദിപ്പിക്കണമേ.

16 Let Thy work appear unto Thy servants, And Thine honour on their sons.

അങ്ങയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ അങ്ങയുടെ സേവകർക്കും അങ്ങയുടെ മഹത്ത്വം അവരുടെ മക്കൾക്കും വെളിപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ.

17 And let the pleasantness of Jehovah our God be upon us, And the work of our hands establish on us, Yea, the work of our hands establish it!

ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിന്റെ കാരുണ്യം ഞങ്ങളുടെമേൽ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ; ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ സഫലമാക്കണമേ— അതേ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ സഫലമാക്കണമേ.
