Psalms 84
1 To the Overseer. — 'On the Gittith By sons of Korah.' — A Psalm. How beloved Thy tabernacles, Jehovah of Hosts!
Salmo de' figliuoli di Core, [dato] al Capo de' Musici, sopra Ghittit OH quanto [sono] amabili i tuoi tabernacoli, O Signor degli eserciti!
2 My soul desired, yea, it hath also been consumed, For the courts of Jehovah, My heart and my flesh cry aloud unto the living God,
L'anima mia brama i cortili del Signore, e vien meno; Il mio cuore e la mia carne sclamano all'Iddio vivente.
3 (Even a sparrow hath found a house, And a swallow a nest for herself, Where she hath placed her brood, ) Thine altars, O Jehovah of Hosts, My king and my God.
Anche la passera si trova stanza, E la rondinella nido, ove posino i lor figli Presso a' tuoi altari, o Signor degli eserciti, Re mio, e Dio mio.
4 O the happiness of those inhabiting Thy house, Yet do they praise Thee. (Selah)
Beati coloro che abitano nella tua Casa, [E] ti lodano del continuo. (Sela)
5 O the happiness of a man whose strength is in Thee, Highways [are] in their heart.
Beato l'uomo che ha forza in te; [E coloro] che hanno le [tue] vie nel cuore;
6 Those passing through a valley of weeping, A fountain do make it, Blessings also cover the director.
[I quali], passando per la valle de' gelsi, La riducono in fonti, [Ed] anche in pozze [che] la pioggia empie.
7 They go from strength unto strength, He appeareth unto God in Zion.
Camminano di valore in valore. [Finchè] compariscano davanti a Dio in Sion.
8 O Jehovah, God of Hosts, hear my prayer, Give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah)
O Signore Iddio degli eserciti, ascolta la mia orazione; Porgi l'orecchio, o Dio di Giacobbe. (Sela)
9 Our shield, see, O God, And behold the face of Thine anointed,
O Dio, scudo nostro, vedi, E riguarda la faccia del tuo unto.
10 For good [is] a day in Thy courts, O Teacher! I have chosen rather to be at the threshold, In the house of my God, Than to dwell in tents of wickedness.
Perciocchè un giorno ne' tuoi cortili val meglio che mille [altrove]; Io eleggerei anzi di essere alla soglia della Casa del mio Dio, Che di abitare ne' tabernacoli di empietà.
11 For a sun and a shield [is] Jehovah God, Grace and honour doth Jehovah give. He withholdeth not good To those walking in uprightness.
Perciocchè il Signore Iddio [è] sole e scudo; Il Signore darà grazia e gloria; Egli non divieterà il bene a quelli che camminano in integrità.
12 Jehovah of Hosts! O the happiness of a man trusting in Thee.
O Signor degli eserciti, Beato l'uomo che si confida in te.
