Psalms 81
1 To the Overseer. — 'On the Gittith.' By Asaph. Cry aloud to God our strength, Shout to the God of Jacob.
Dem Vorsänger, auf der Gittith. Von Asaph. Jubelt Gott, unserer Stärke! Jauchzet dem Gott Jakobs!
2 Lift up a song, and give out a timbrel, A pleasant harp with psaltery.
Erhebet Gesang und lasset das Tamburin ertönen, die liebliche Laute samt der Harfe!
3 Blow in the month a trumpet, In the new moon, at the day of our festival,
Stoßet am Neumonde in die Posaune, am Vollmonde zum Tage unseres Festes!
4 For a statute to Israel it [is], An ordinance of the God of Jacob.
Denn eine Satzung für Israel ist es, eine Verordnung des Gottes Jakobs.
5 A testimony on Joseph He hath placed it, In his going forth over the land of Egypt. A lip, I have not known — I hear.
Er setzte es ein als ein Zeugnis in Joseph, als er auszog gegen das Land Ägypten, wo ich eine Sprache hörte, die ich nicht kannte.
6 From the burden his shoulder I turned aside, His hands from the basket pass over.
Ich entzog der Last seine Schulter, seine Hände entgingen dem Tragkorbe.
7 In distress thou hast called and I deliver thee, I answer thee in the secret place of thunder, I try thee by the waters of Meribah. (Selah)
In der Bedrängnis riefest du, und ich befreite dich; ich antwortete dir in des Donners Hülle; ich prüfte dich an den Wassern von Meriba. (Sela)
8 Hear, O My people, and I testify to thee, O Israel, if thou dost hearken to me:
Höre, mein Volk, und ich will wider dich zeugen. O Israel, wenn du mir gehorchtest!
9 There is not in thee a strange god, And thou bowest not thyself to a strange god.
Es soll kein fremder Gott unter dir sein, und du sollst dich nicht bücken vor einem Gott des Auslandes.
10 I [am] Jehovah thy God, Who bringeth thee up out of the land of Egypt. Enlarge thy mouth, and I fill it.
Ich bin Jehova, dein Gott, der dich aus dem Lande Ägypten heraufgeführt hat; tue deinen Mund weit auf, und ich will ihn füllen.
11 But, My people hearkened not to My voice, And Israel hath not consented to Me.
Aber mein Volk hat nicht auf meine Stimme gehört, und Israel ist nicht willig gegen mich gewesen.
12 And I send them away in the enmity of their heart, They walk in their own counsels.
Und ich gab sie dahin der Verstocktheit ihres Herzens; sie wandelten nach ihren Ratschlägen.
13 O that My people were hearkening to Me, Israel in My ways would walk.
O daß mein Volk auf mich gehört, daß Israel in meinen Wegen gewandelt hätte!
14 As a little thing their enemies I cause to bow, And against their adversaries I turn back My hand,
Bald würde ich ihre Feinde gebeugt und meine Hand gewendet haben gegen ihre Bedränger.
15 Those hating Jehovah feign obedience to Him, But their time is — to the age.
Die Hasser Jehovas würden sich ihm mit Schmeichelei unterworfen haben, und ihre Zeit würde ewig gewesen sein;
16 He causeth him to eat of the fat of wheat, And [with] honey from a rock I satisfy thee!
und mit dem Fette des Weizens würde er es gespeist, und mit Honig aus dem Felsen würde ich dich gesättigt haben.
