Psalms 76
1 To the Overseer with stringed instruments. — A Psalm of Asaph. — A Song. In Judah [is] God known, in Israel His name [is] great.
Mungu amefanya mwenyewe kujulikana katika Yuda; jina lake ni kuu katika Israeli.
2 And His tabernacle is in Salem, And His habitation in Zion.
Hema yake iko salemu; makao yake yako yako Sayuni.
3 There he hath shivered arrows of a bow, Shield, and sword, and battle. (Selah)
Huko ndiko alivunja mishale ya upinde, ngao, upanga, na silaha zingine za vita. (Selah)
4 Bright [art] Thou, honourable above hills of prey.
Wewe unang'aa sana na huufunua utukufu wako, ushukapo kutoka milimani, ambako uliwauwa mateka.
5 Spoiled themselves have the mighty of heart, They have slept their sleep, And none of the men of might found their hands.
Wenye moyo shujaa walitekwa nyara; walilala mauti. Mashujaa wote walikuwa wanyonge.
6 From Thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both rider and horse have been fast asleep.
Kwa kukemea kwako, ewe Mungu wa Yakobo, wote gari na farasi walilala mauti.
7 Thou, fearful [art] Thou, And who doth stand before Thee, Since Thou hast been angry!
Wewe, ndiyo wewe, ni wa kuogopwa; ni nani awezaye kusimama mbele yako wakati ukiwa na hasira?
8 From heaven Thou hast sounded judgment, Earth hath feared, and hath been still,
Kutoka mbinguni wewe uliifanya hukumu yako isikike; nchi iliogopa na ikaa kimya
9 In the rising of God to judgment, To save all the humble of earth. (Selah)
wakati wewe, Mungu, ulipoinuka kutekeleza hukumu na kuwaokoa wote wa nchi walio onewa. (Selah)
10 For the fierceness of man praiseth Thee, The remnant of fierceness Thou girdest on.
Hakika hukumu ya hasira yako dhidi ya binadamu itakuletea wewe sifa; wewe hujifunga mwenyewe hasira yako iliyo baki.
11 Vow and complete to Jehovah your God, All ye surrounding him. They bring presents to the Fearful One.
Wekeni nadhiri kwa Yahwe Mungu wenu na kuzihifadhi. Nao wote wamzungukao yeye mleteeni zawadi yeye ambaye ni wa kuogopwa.
12 He doth gather the spirit of leaders, Fearful to the kings of earth!
Yeye huzikata roho za wakuu; huogopwa na wafalme wa nchi.
