< Psalms 55 >
1 To the Overseer with stringed instruments. — An instruction, by David. Give ear, O God, [to] my prayer, And hide not from my supplication.
Rhotoeng neh aka mawt ham David kah hlohlai Aw Pathen, ka thangthuinah he hnatun lamtah ka lungmacil te rhael boeh.
2 Attend to me, and answer me, I mourn in my (meditation) and make a noise,

3 Because of the voice of an enemy, Because of the oppression of the wicked, For they cause sorrow to move against me, And in anger they hate me.
Halang kah phaepnah hman ah thunkha kah ol loh kai sola boethae han sop uh tih thintoek neh kai taengah a konaeh uh.
4 My heart is pained within me, And terrors of death have fallen on me.
Ka ko khuiah ka lungbuei loh phat tih dueknah mueirhih loh kai m'vuei khoep.
5 Fear and trembling come in to me, And horror doth cover me.
Kai taengah rhihnah neh thuennah halo tih, tuennah loh kai n'thing.
6 And I say, 'Who doth give to me a pinion as a dove? I fly away and rest,
Te vaengah, “U long nim kai ham vahui bangla ka phae han khueh koinih ka ding vetih kho ka sak sue,” ka ti.
7 Lo, I move far off, I lodge in a wilderness. (Selah)
Yaoe A hla la ka cet sui tih, khosoek ah ka rhaehba mai lah sue. (Selah)
8 I hasten escape for myself, From a rushing wind, from a whirlwind.
Kai taengkah khohli khui lamloh, hlipuei a tloh khui lamloh kuepkolnah la ka tawn uh sue.
9 Swallow up, O Lord, divide their tongue, For I saw violence and strife in a city.
Ka Boeipa aw amih ol te haeh saeh lamtah dolh saeh, khopuei ah kuthlahnah neh tuituknah ni ka hmuh.
10 By day and by night they go round it, on its walls. Both iniquity and perverseness [are] in its midst,
Khoyin khothaih vongtung taengah vikvuek uh tih a ko khuiah boethae neh thakthaenah om.
11 Mischiefs [are] in its midst. Fraud and deceit depart not from its street.
Talnah loh a ko khuiah om tih, hnaephnapnah neh thailatnah loh toltung lamkah nong voelpawh.
12 For an enemy reproacheth me not, or I bear [it], He who is hating me Hath not magnified himself against me, Or I hide from him.
Kai aka veet he ka thunkha moenih, anih koinih ka phueih pawn ni. Kai taengah aka pomsang uh te ka lunguet moenih. Te koinih anih taeng lamloh ka thuh tak ni.
13 But thou, a man — as mine equal, My familiar friend, and mine acquaintance.
Tedae ka boeihlum neh ka thanat la ka hmaiben hlanghing khaw namah ni.
14 When together we sweeten counsel, Into the house of God we walk in company.
Baecenol neh tun ka tui uh tih, rhoihui neh Pathen im la ka cet uh coeng.
15 Desolations [are] upon them, They go down [to] Sheol — alive, For wickedness [is] in their dwelling, in their midst. (Sheol )
Amih ko khuiah khaw, a lampahnah ah khaw thae uh. Te dongah amih te dueknah loh dueknah neh phae saeh lamtah, a hingnah te saelkhui la suntla uh saeh. (Sheol )
16 I — to God I call, and Jehovah saveth me.
Pathen te kai loh ka khue tih BOEIPA loh kai n'khang.
17 Evening, and morning, and noon, I meditate, and make a noise, and He heareth my voice,
Hlaem, mincang neh khothun ah ka lolmang tih ka ko vaengah ka ol han yaak.
18 He hath ransomed in peace my soul From him who is near to me, For with the multitude they were with me.
Kai taengkah aka om rhoek he a yet dongah ka hinglu he caemrhal lamkah sading la n'lat.
19 God doth hear and afflict them, And He sitteth of old. (Selah) Because they have no changes, and fear not God,
Hlamat lamkah kho aka sa Pathen loh a yaak vetih amih te a phaep ni. (Selah) Amih taengah thovaelnah a om pawt bangla Pathen khaw rhih uh pawh.
20 He hath sent forth his hands against his well-wishers, He hath polluted his covenant.
A ngaimongnah taengah a kut a hlah tih, a paipi a poeih.
21 Sweeter than honey hath been his mouth, And his heart [is] war! Softer have been his words than oil, And they [are] drawn [swords].
A ka te maehtha bangla hnal dae a lungbuei tah caemrhal la om. A olka te situi lakah yaai dae tumca a mukuh.
22 Cast on Jehovah that which He hath given thee, And He doth sustain thee, He doth not suffer for ever the moving of the righteous.
Na thinrhih te BOEIPA taengah hal lamtah amah loh nang n'cangbam bitni. Aka dueng te kumhal ah bung sak mahpawh.
23 And Thou, O God, dost bring them down To a pit of destruction, Men of blood and deceit reach not to half their days, And I — I do trust in Thee!
Tedae Pathen nang loh pocinah rhom khuila amih te na hlak ni. Hlang thii aka ngaih neh hlangthai palat kah khohnin te paekboe pah pawtnim? Kai long tah nang dongah ka pangtung ni.
