Psalms 40
1 To the Overseer. — A Psalm of David. I have diligently expected Jehovah, And He inclineth to me, and heareth my cry,
൧സംഗീതപ്രമാണിക്ക്; ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം. ഞാൻ യഹോവയ്ക്കായി ക്ഷമയോടെ കാത്തിരുന്നു; കർത്താവ് എന്നിലേക്ക് ചാഞ്ഞ് എന്റെ നിലവിളി കേട്ടു.
2 And He doth cause me to come up From a pit of desolation — from mire of mud, And He raiseth up on a rock my feet, He is establishing my steps.
൨നാശകരമായ കുഴിയിൽ നിന്നും കുഴഞ്ഞ ചേറ്റിൽനിന്നും കർത്താവ് എന്നെ കയറ്റി; എന്റെ കാലുകളെ ഒരു പാറമേൽ നിർത്തി, എന്റെ ചുവടുകളെ സ്ഥിരമാക്കി.
3 And He putteth in my mouth a new song, 'Praise to our God.' Many do see and fear, and trust in Jehovah.
൩അവിടുന്ന് എന്റെ വായിൽ ഒരു പുതിയ പാട്ട് തന്നു, നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന് സ്തുതി തന്നെ; പലരും അത് കണ്ട് ഭയപ്പെട്ട് യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കും.
4 O the happiness of the man Who hath made Jehovah his trust, And hath not turned unto the proud, And those turning aside to lies.
൪യഹോവയെ തന്റെ ആശ്രയമാക്കുകയും നിഗളികളെയും വ്യാജദൈവങ്ങളിലേക്ക് തിരിയുന്നവരെയും ആദരിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ.
5 Much hast Thou done, Jehovah my God; Thy wonders and Thy thoughts toward us, There is none to arrange unto Thee, I declare and speak: They have been more than to be numbered.
൫എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, അവിടുന്ന് ചെയ്ത അത്ഭുതപ്രവൃത്തികളും ഞങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള അങ്ങയുടെ വിചാരങ്ങളും അനവധി ആകുന്നു; അങ്ങേക്ക് തുല്യൻ ആരുമില്ല; ഞാൻ അവയെപ്പറ്റി വിവരിച്ച് പ്രസ്താവിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ അവ എണ്ണിക്കൂടാത്തവിധം അധികമാകുന്നു.
6 Sacrifice and present Thou hast not desired, Ears Thou hast prepared for me, Burnt and sin-offering Thou hast not asked.
൬ഹനനയാഗവും ഭോജനയാഗവും അവിടുന്ന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചില്ല; അങ്ങ് എന്റെ ചെവികൾ തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. ഹോമയാഗവും പാപയാഗവും അവിടുന്ന് ചോദിച്ചില്ല.
7 Then said I, 'Lo, I have come,' In the roll of the book it is written of me,
൭അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു: “ഇതാ, ഞാൻ വരുന്നു; പുസ്തകച്ചുരുളിൽ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ച് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു;
8 To do Thy pleasure, my God, I have delighted, And Thy law [is] within my heart.
൮എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, അങ്ങയുടെ ഇഷ്ടം ചെയ്യുവാൻ ഞാൻ പ്രിയപ്പെടുന്നു; അവിടുത്തെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം എന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു”.
9 I have proclaimed tidings of righteousness In the great assembly, lo, my lips I restrain not, O Jehovah, Thou hast known.
൯ഞാൻ മഹാസഭയിൽ നീതിയുടെ സുവാർത്ത പ്രസംഗിച്ചു; അധരങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ അടക്കിവച്ചില്ല; യഹോവേ, അവിടുന്ന് അറിയുന്നു.
10 Thy righteousness I have not concealed In the midst of my heart, Thy faithfulness and Thy salvation I have told, I have not hidden Thy kindness and Thy truth, To the great assembly.
൧൦ഞാൻ അങ്ങയുടെ നീതി എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ മറച്ചു വച്ചില്ല; അവിടുത്തെ വിശ്വസ്തതയും രക്ഷയും ഞാൻ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു; അവിടുത്തെ ദയയും സത്യവും ഞാൻ മഹാസഭയിൽ മറച്ചുവച്ചതുമില്ല.
11 Thou, O Jehovah, restrainest not Thy mercies from me, Thy kindness and Thy truth do continually keep me.
൧൧യഹോവേ, അങ്ങയുടെ കരുണ അവിടുന്ന് എനിക്ക് അടച്ചുകളയുകയില്ല; അങ്ങയുടെ ദയയും സത്യവും എന്നെ നിത്യം പരിപാലിക്കും.
12 For compassed me have evils innumerable, Overtaken me have mine iniquities, And I have not been able to see; They have been more than the hairs of my head, And my heart hath forsaken me.
൧൨അസംഖ്യം അനർത്ഥങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ചുറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു; മേല്പോട്ടു നോക്കുവാൻ കഴിയാത്തവിധം എന്റെ അകൃത്യങ്ങൾ എന്നെ എത്തിപ്പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ എന്റെ തലയിലെ രോമങ്ങളിലും അധികം; ഞാൻ ധൈര്യഹീനനായിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
13 Be pleased, O Jehovah, to deliver me, O Jehovah, for my help make haste.
൧൩യഹോവേ, എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കുവാൻ ഇഷ്ടം തോന്നണമേ; യഹോവേ, എന്നെ സഹായിക്കുവാൻ വേഗം വരണമേ.
14 They are ashamed and confounded together, Who are seeking my soul to destroy it, They are turned backward, And are ashamed, who are desiring my evil.
൧൪എനിക്ക് ജീവഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നവർ ലജ്ജിച്ച് ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകട്ടെ; എന്റെ അനർത്ഥത്തിൽ സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നവർ പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞ് അപമാനം ഏല്ക്കട്ടെ.
15 They are desolate because of their shame, Who are saying to me, 'Aha, aha.'
൧൫“നന്നായി, നന്നായി” എന്ന് എന്നോട് പറയുന്നവർ അവരുടെ ലജ്ജ നിമിത്തം സ്തംഭിച്ചുപോകട്ടെ.
16 All seeking Thee rejoice and are glad in Thee, Those loving Thy salvation say continually, 'Jehovah is magnified.'
൧൬അങ്ങയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവരും അവിടുത്തെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ആനന്ദിച്ച് സന്തോഷിക്കട്ടെ; അങ്ങയുടെ രക്ഷയിൽ പ്രിയപ്പെടുന്നവർ “യഹോവ എത്ര മഹത്വമുള്ളവൻ” എന്ന് എപ്പോഴും പറയട്ടെ.
17 And I [am] poor and needy, The Lord doth devise for me. My help and my deliverer [art] Thou, O my God, tarry Thou not.
൧൭ഞാൻ എളിയവനും ദരിദ്രനും ആകുന്നു; എങ്കിലും കർത്താവ് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ച് വിചാരിക്കുന്നു; അവിടുന്ന് തന്നെ എന്റെ സഹായവും എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കുന്നവനും ആകുന്നു; എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, താമസിക്കരുതേ.
