Psalms 38
1 A Psalm of David, 'To cause to remember.' Jehovah, in Thy wrath reprove me not, Nor in Thy fury chastise me.
Faarfannaa Daawit. Yaadannoodhaaf. Yaa Waaqayyo, aarii keetiin na hin ifatin yookaan dheekkamsa keetiin na hin adabin.
2 For Thine arrows have come down on me, And Thou lettest down upon me Thy hand.
Xiyyooliin kee na waraananiiru; harki kees akka malee natti ulfaateera.
3 Soundness is not in my flesh, Because of Thine indignation, Peace is not in my bones because of my sin.
Sababii dheekkamsa keetiitiif dhagni koo fayyaa dhabeera; sababii cubbuu kootiifis lafeen koo nagaa dhabeera.
4 For mine iniquities have passed over my head, As a heavy burden — too heavy for me.
Cubbuun koo na liqimseeraatii; akkuma baʼaa baatamuu hin dandaʼamne tokkoottis natti ulfaateera.
5 Stunk — become corrupt have my wounds, Because of my folly.
Sababii gowwummaa kootiitiif, madaan koo malaa naqate; ni ajaaʼes.
6 I have been bent down, I have been bowed down — unto excess, All the day I have gone mourning.
Ani gad nan qabame; gadis nan cabe; guyyaa guutuus gaddaan oola.
7 For my flanks have been full of drought, And soundness is not in my flesh.
Dugdi koo na bobaʼa; dhagni koos fayyaa hin qabu.
8 I have been feeble and smitten — unto excess, I have roared from disquietude of heart.
Ani laafeera; akka malees bututeera; garaan koo dhiphatee ani aadaan jira.
9 Lord, before Thee [is] all my desire, And my sighing from Thee hath not been hid.
Yaa Gooftaa, hawwiin koo hundinuu fuula kee duratti beekamaa dha; argansuun koo si duraa hin dhokatu.
10 My heart [is] panting, my power hath forsaken me, And the light of mine eyes, Even they are not with me.
Lapheen koo ni dhaʼatti; jilbis na laafeera; ifni ija kootiis badeera.
11 My lovers and my friends over-against my plague stand. And my neighbours afar off have stood.
Michoonni koo fi miiltoon koo sababii madaa kootiitiif narraa hiiqan; firoonni koos narraa fagaatanii dhadhaabatu.
12 And those seeking my soul lay a snare, And those seeking my evil Have spoken mischievous things, And they do deceits meditate all the day.
Warri lubbuu koo galaafachuu barbaadan kiyyoo naa kaaʼaniiru; warri na miidhuu barbaadanis waaʼee badiisa kootii dubbatu; guyyaa guutuus hammina natti yaadu.
13 And I, as deaf, hear not. And as a dumb one who openeth not his mouth.
Ani garuu akkuma duudaa dhagaʼuu hin dandeenyee, akkuma arrab-didaa dubbachuu hin dandeenyeetii.
14 Yea, I am as a man who heareth not, And in his mouth are no reproofs.
Ani akka nama dhagaʼuu hin dandeenyee, akkuma nama afaan isaa deebii kennuu hin dandeenyees taʼeera.
15 Because for Thee, O Jehovah, I have waited, Thou dost answer, O Lord my God.
Yaa Waaqayyo, ani sin eeggadha; yaa Waaqayyo Gooftaa ko, ati deebii naa kennita.
16 When I said, 'Lest they rejoice over me, In the slipping of my foot against me they magnified themselves.
Ani, “Akka diinonni koo natti gammadan yookaan akka isaan yeroo miilli koo mucucaatutti natti of jajan hin eeyyamin” jedheeraatii.
17 For I am ready to halt, And my pain [is] before me continually.
Ani kufuu gaʼeeraatii; dhukkubbiin koos takkumaa na hin dhiifne.
18 For mine iniquity I declare, I am sorry for my sin.
Ani balleessaa koo nan himadha; sababii cubbuu kootiitiifis nan gadda.
19 And mine enemies [are] lively, They have been strong, and those hating me without cause, Have been multiplied.
Warri akkasumaan diinota koo taʼan jajjaboo dha; warri sababii malee na jibbanis hedduu dha.
20 And those paying evil for good accuse me, Because of my pursuing good.
Warri qooda waan gaarii waan hamaa naa deebisan diinota koo ti; ani waan gaarii duukaa nan buʼaatii.
21 Do not forsake me, O Jehovah, My God, be not far from me,
Yaa Waaqayyo, ati na hin gatin; yaa Waaqa ko, narraa hin fagaatin.
22 Haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation!
Yaa Gooftaa, yaa fayyisaa ko, na gargaaruudhaaf ariifadhu!
