< Psalms 36 >
1 To the Overseer. — By a servant of Jehovah, by David. The transgression of the wicked Is affirming within my heart, 'Fear of God is not before his eyes,
Ki he Takimuʻa, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita ko e tamaioʻeiki ʻa Sihova. ʻOku lea ʻae talangataʻa ʻae angakovi ki hoku loto, “ʻoku ʻikai ha manavahē ki he ʻOtua ʻi hono ʻao.”
2 For he made [it] smooth to himself in his eyes, To find his iniquity to be hated.
He ʻoku ne fakaholoholoʻi ʻe ia ia ʻi hono ʻao, ke ʻoua ke hoko ʻo hā mai ʻae kovi ʻo ʻene hia.
3 The words of his mouth [are] iniquity and deceit, He ceased to act prudently — to do good.
Ko e ngaahi lea ʻa hono ngutu ko e kovi mo e kākā: kuo tuku ʻe ia ʻene poto mo e fai lelei.
4 Iniquity he deviseth on his bed, He stationeth himself on a way not good, Evil he doth not refuse.'
ʻOku ne fifili ki he pauʻu ʻi hono mohenga; ʻoku ne fokotuʻu ʻe ia ia ʻi he hala ʻoku ʻikai lelei; ʻoku ʻikai te ne fehiʻa ki he kovi.
5 O Jehovah, in the heavens [is] Thy kindness, Thy faithfulness [is] unto the clouds.
Ko hoʻo ʻaloʻofa, ʻE Sihova, ʻoku ʻi he ngaahi langi; pea ʻoku aʻu hake hoʻo angatonu ki he ngaahi ʻao.
6 Thy righteousness [is] as mountains of God, Thy judgments [are] a great deep. Man and beast Thou savest, O Jehovah.
Ko hoʻo māʻoniʻoni ʻoku hangē ko e ngaahi moʻunga ʻoe ʻOtua; ko hoʻo ngaahi fakamaau ko e fuʻu moana; ʻE Sihova, ʻoku ke fakamoʻui ʻae tangata mo e manu.
7 How precious [is] Thy kindness, O God, And the sons of men In the shadow of Thy wings do trust.
ʻE ʻOtua, hono ʻikai mahuʻinga fau ʻa hoʻo ʻaloʻofa! Ko ia ʻoku falala ai ʻae fānau ʻae tangata ki he malu ʻo ho kapakau.
8 They are filled from the fatness of Thy house, And the stream of Thy delights Thou dost cause them to drink.
Te nau fonu lahi ʻi he mahu lelei ʻo ho fale; pea te ke fakainu ʻakinautolu ʻi he vaitafe ʻo hoʻo fiemālie.
9 For with Thee [is] a fountain of life, In Thy light we see light.
He ʻoku ʻiate koe ʻae matavai ʻoe moʻui: temau mamata ʻi hoʻo maama ki he maama.
10 Draw out Thy kindness to those knowing Thee, And Thy righteousness to the upright of heart.
Ke tuʻumaʻu pe hoʻo ʻaloʻofa kiate kinautolu ʻoku nau ʻilo koe; mo hoʻo māʻoniʻoni ki he angatonu ʻi loto.
11 Let not a foot of pride meet me, And a hand of the wicked let not move me.
ʻOua naʻa hoko kiate au ʻae vaʻe ʻoe laukau, pea ʻoua naʻa hiki au ʻe he nima ʻoe angakovi.
12 There have workers of iniquity fallen, They have been overthrown, And have not been able to arise!
Kuo hinga ʻi ai ʻae kau fai kovi: kuo lī ki lalo ʻakinautolu, pea ʻe ʻikai te nau faʻa tuʻu hake.
