Psalms 18
1 To the Overseer. — By a servant of Jehovah, by David, who hath spoken to Jehovah the words of this song in the day Jehovah delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul, and he saith: — I love Thee, O Jehovah, my strength.
സംഗീതസംവിധായകന്. യഹോവയുടെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദ് രചിച്ചത്. യഹോവ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ തന്റെ എല്ലാ ശത്രുക്കളുടെയും ശൗലിന്റെയും കൈകളിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിച്ച അവസരത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹം യഹോവയ്ക്ക് ഈ ഗാനം ആലപിച്ചു: എന്റെ ബലമായ യഹോവേ, അങ്ങയെ ഞാൻ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.
2 Jehovah [is] my rock, and my bulwark, And my deliverer, My God [is] my rock, I trust in Him: My shield, and a horn of my salvation, My high tower.
യഹോവ എന്റെ പാറയും എന്റെ കോട്ടയും എന്റെ വിമോചകനും ആകുന്നു; എന്റെ ദൈവം എന്റെ ശില, അങ്ങയിൽ ഞാൻ അഭയംതേടുന്നു, എന്റെ പരിചയും എന്റെ രക്ഷയുടെ കൊമ്പും എന്റെ സുരക്ഷിതസ്ഥാനവും അവിടന്നാണ്.
3 The 'Praised One' I call Jehovah, And from my enemies I am saved.
സ്തുത്യർഹനായ യഹോവയെ ഞാൻ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ചു, എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളിൽനിന്നു ഞാൻ രക്ഷനേടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
4 Compassed me have cords of death, And streams of the worthless make me afraid.
മരണപാശങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ചുറ്റിവരിഞ്ഞു; നാശപ്രവാഹങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകി.
പാതാളത്തിന്റെ കയറുകൾ എന്നെ വരിഞ്ഞുകെട്ടി; മരണക്കുരുക്കുകൾ എന്റെമേൽ വീണിരിക്കുന്നു. (Sheol h7585)
6 In mine adversity I call Jehovah, And unto my God I cry. He heareth from His temple my voice, And My cry before Him cometh into His ears.
എന്റെ കഷ്ടതയിൽ ഞാൻ യഹോവയെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ചു; സഹായത്തിനായി ഞാൻ എന്റെ ദൈവത്തോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു. തന്റെ മന്ദിരത്തിൽനിന്ന് അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേട്ടു. എന്റെ നിലവിളി അവിടത്തെ സന്നിധിയിൽ, അതേ അവിടത്തെ കാതുകളിൽത്തന്നെ എത്തി.
7 And shake and tremble doth the earth, And foundations of hills are troubled, And they shake — because He hath wrath.
ഭൂമി പ്രകമ്പനത്താൽ കുലുങ്ങി, പർവതങ്ങളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ വിറകൊണ്ടു; അവിടത്തെ കോപത്താൽ അവ ഇളകിയാടി.
8 Gone up hath smoke by His nostrils, And fire from His mouth consumeth, Coals have been kindled by it.
അവിടത്തെ നാസാരന്ധ്രങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു ധൂമപടലമുയർന്നു; സംഹാരാഗ്നി അവിടത്തെ വായിൽനിന്നും പുറപ്പെട്ടു, തീക്കനലുകൾ അവിടെ കത്തിജ്വലിച്ചു.
9 And He inclineth the heavens, and cometh down, And thick darkness [is] under His feet.
അവിടന്ന് ആകാശം ചായ്ച്ച് ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു; കാർമുകിലുകൾ അവിടത്തെ തൃപ്പാദങ്ങൾ താങ്ങിനിന്നു.
10 And He rideth on a cherub, and doth fly, And He flieth on wings of wind.
അവിടന്നു കെരൂബിൻമുകളിലേറി പറന്നു; കാറ്റിൻചിറകേറി അങ്ങ് കുതിച്ചുയർന്നു.
11 He maketh darkness His secret place, Round about Him His tabernacle, Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
അവിടന്ന് അന്ധകാരത്തെ തനിക്കു ആവരണവും, തനിക്കുചുറ്റും വിതാനമാക്കി നിർത്തി— ആകാശത്തിലെ കൊടുംകാർമുകിലുകളെത്തന്നെ.
12 From the brightness over-against Him His thick clouds have passed on, Hail and coals of fire.
ആലിപ്പഴത്തോടും മിന്നൽപ്പിണരുകളോടുംകൂടെ അവിടത്തെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൻ പ്രഭയിൽനിന്ന് മേഘങ്ങൾ ഉയർന്നു.
13 And thunder in the heavens doth Jehovah, And the Most High giveth forth His voice, Hail and coals of fire.
യഹോവ സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്നു മേഘനാദം മുഴക്കി; പരമോന്നതൻ തന്റെ ശബ്ദംകേൾപ്പിച്ചു, ആലിപ്പഴപ്പെയ്ത്തോടും മിന്നൽപ്പിണരുകളോടുംകൂടെ.
14 And He sendeth His arrows and scattereth them, And much lightning, and crusheth them.
അവിടന്നു തന്റെ അസ്ത്രമയച്ച് ശത്രുക്കളെ ചിതറിച്ചു, മിന്നൽപ്പിണരുകളാൽ അവരെ തുരത്തിയോടിച്ചു.
15 And seen are the streams of waters, And revealed are foundations of the earth. From Thy rebuke, O Jehovah, From the breath of the spirit of Thine anger.
യഹോവേ, അവിടത്തെ ശാസനയാൽ, അവിടത്തെ നാസികയിൽനിന്നുള്ള നിശ്വാസത്താൽത്തന്നെ, സമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ അടിത്തട്ടുകൾ ദൃശ്യമാക്കപ്പെട്ടു ഭൂമിയുടെ അസ്തിവാരം അനാവൃതമാക്കപ്പെട്ടു.
16 He sendeth from above — He taketh me, He draweth me out of many waters.
അവിടന്ന് ഉയരത്തിൽനിന്ന് കൈനീട്ടി എന്നെ പിടിച്ചു; പെരുവെള്ളത്തിൽനിന്ന് എന്നെ വലിച്ചെടുത്തു.
17 He delivereth me from my strong enemy, And from those hating me, For they have been stronger than I.
ശക്തരായ എന്റെ ശത്രുവിൽനിന്ന്, എന്റെ വൈരിയിൽനിന്ന് എന്നെ മോചിപ്പിച്ചു, അവർ എന്നെക്കാൾ പ്രബലരായിരുന്നു.
18 They go before me in a day of my calamity And Jehovah is for a support to me.
എന്റെ അനർഥനാളുകളിൽ അവർ എന്നോട് ഏറ്റുമുട്ടി, എന്നാൽ യഹോവ എന്നെ താങ്ങിനിർത്തി.
19 And He bringeth me forth to a large place, He draweth me out, because He delighted in me.
അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ വിശാലതയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; എന്നിൽ പ്രസാദിച്ചതിനാൽ അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ മോചിപ്പിച്ചു.
20 Jehovah doth recompense me According to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands, He doth return to me.
എന്റെ നീതിക്ക് അനുസൃതമായി യഹോവ എനിക്കു പ്രതിഫലംതന്നു; എന്റെ കൈകളുടെ നിർമലതയ്ക്കനുസരിച്ച് അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ ആദരിച്ചു.
21 For I have kept the ways of Jehovah, And have not done wickedly against my God.
കാരണം ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ പാതകളിൽത്തന്നെ സഞ്ചരിച്ചു; എന്റെ ദൈവത്തെ വിട്ടകലുമാറ് ഞാൻ ദോഷം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചില്ല.
22 For all His judgments [are] before me, And His statutes I turn not from me.
അവിടത്തെ ന്യായവിധികളെല്ലാം എന്റെ മുൻപിലുണ്ട്; അവിടത്തെ ഉത്തരവുകളിൽനിന്നു ഞാൻ വ്യതിചലിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.
23 And I am perfect with him, And I keep myself from mine iniquity.
തിരുമുമ്പിൽ ഞാൻ നിഷ്കളങ്കതയോടെ ജീവിച്ചു ഞാൻ പാപത്തിൽനിന്നു സ്വയം അകന്നുനിൽക്കുന്നു.
24 And Jehovah doth return to me, According to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands, Over-against his eyes.
എന്റെ നീതിക്കനുസൃതമായി യഹോവ എനിക്കു പാരിതോഷികം നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്നു, തിരുമുമ്പിൽ എന്റെ കൈകളുടെ വിശുദ്ധിക്കനുസരിച്ചുതന്നെ.
25 With the kind Thou showest Thyself kind, With a perfect man showest Thyself perfect.
വിശ്വസ്തരോട് അവിടന്ന് വിശ്വസ്തത കാട്ടുന്നു, നിഷ്കളങ്കരോട് അവിടന്ന് നിഷ്കളങ്കതയോടെ ഇടപെടുന്നു.
26 With the pure Thou showest Thyself pure, And with the perverse showest Thyself a wrestler,
നിർമലരോട് അവിടന്ന് നിർമലതയോടും; എന്നാൽ വക്രതയുള്ളവരോട് അവിടന്ന് കൗശലത്തോടും പെരുമാറുന്നു.
27 For Thou a poor people savest, And the eyes of the high causest to fall.
വിനയാന്വിതരെ അവിടന്ന് രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നാൽ അഹന്തനിറഞ്ഞ കണ്ണുള്ളവരെ അങ്ങ് അപമാനിക്കുന്നു.
28 For Thou — Thou lightest my lamp, Jehovah my God enlighteneth my darkness.
യഹോവേ, എന്റെ വിളക്ക് പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കണമേ; എന്റെ ദൈവം എന്റെ അന്ധകാരത്തെ പ്രകാശപൂരിതമാക്കുന്നു.
29 For by Thee I run — a troop! And by my God I leap a wall.
അങ്ങയുടെ സഹായത്താൽ എനിക്കൊരു സൈന്യത്തിനെതിരേ പാഞ്ഞുചെല്ലാൻ കഴിയും; എന്റെ ദൈവത്താൽ എനിക്കു കോട്ടമതിൽ ചാടിക്കടക്കാം.
30 God! perfect [is] His way, The saying of Jehovah is tried, A shield [is] He to all those trusting in Him.
ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മാർഗം പൂർണതയുള്ളത്: യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കുറ്റമറ്റത്; തന്നിൽ അഭയം തേടുന്നവരെയെല്ലാം അവിടന്ന് സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.
31 For who [is] God besides Jehovah? And who [is] a rock save our God?
യഹോവയല്ലാതെ ദൈവം ആരുള്ളൂ? നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമല്ലാതെ ആ ശില ആരാണ്?
32 God! who is girding me [with] strength, And He maketh perfect my way.
ശക്തിയാൽ യഹോവ എന്നെ യുദ്ധസജ്ജനാക്കുന്നു എന്റെ വഴി സുരക്ഷിതമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു ദൈവമാണ്.
33 Making my feet like hinds, And on my high places causeth me to stand.
അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ കാലുകളെ മാൻപേടയുടെ കാലുകൾക്കു സമമാക്കുന്നു; ഉന്നതികളിൽ പാദമൂന്നിനിൽക്കാൻ അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ സഹായിക്കുന്നു.
34 Teaching my hands for battle, And a bow of brass was brought down by my arms.
എന്റെ കരങ്ങളെ അവിടന്ന് യുദ്ധമുറകൾ പരിശീലിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ കൈകൾക്കു വെങ്കലവില്ലുകുലയ്ക്കാൻ കഴിവുലഭിക്കുന്നു.
35 And Thou givest to me the shield of Thy salvation, And Thy right hand doth support me, And Thy lowliness maketh me great.
അവിടത്തെ രക്ഷ എനിക്കു പരിചയായി നൽകി, അവിടത്തെ വലതുകരം എന്നെ താങ്ങിനിർത്തുന്നു; അവിടത്തെ സഹായം എന്നെ വലിയവനാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
36 Thou enlargest my step under me, And mine ankles have not slidden.
അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ കാലടികൾക്കായി രാജവീഥി ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു, അതിനാൽ എന്റെ കണങ്കാലുകൾ വഴുതുന്നതുമില്ല.
37 I pursue mine enemies, and overtake them, And turn back not till they are consumed.
ഞാൻ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ പിൻതുടർന്നു, ഞാൻ അവരെ കീഴ്പ്പെടുത്തി; അവരെ ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യുന്നതുവരെ ഞാൻ പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞില്ല.
38 I smite them, and they are not able to rise, They fall under my feet,
ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റുവരാൻ കഴിയാതവണ്ണം ഞാൻ അവരെ തകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞു; അവരെന്റെ കാൽക്കൽ വീണടിഞ്ഞു.
39 And Thou girdest me [with] strength for battle, Causest my withstanders to bow under me.
ശക്തിയാൽ അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ യുദ്ധസജ്ജനാക്കുന്നു അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ എന്റെ പാദത്തിൽ നമിക്കുന്നവരാക്കിത്തീർത്തു.
40 As to mine enemies — Thou hast given to me the neck, As to those hating me — I cut them off.
യുദ്ധത്തിൽ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ അങ്ങ് പുറംതിരിഞ്ഞ് ഓടിപ്പിച്ചു, എന്റെ എതിരാളികളെ ഞാൻ സംഹരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
41 They cry, and there is no saviour, On Jehovah, and He doth not answer them.
സഹായത്തിനായവർ കേണപേക്ഷിച്ചു, എന്നാൽ അവരെ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ ആരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല— യഹോവയോട് അപേക്ഷിച്ചു, എന്നാൽ അവിടന്ന് ഉത്തരം നൽകിയതുമില്ല.
42 And I beat them as dust before wind, As mire of the streets I empty them out.
കാറ്റിൽപ്പറക്കുന്ന പൊടിപടലംപോലെ ഞാൻ അവരെ തകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞു; തെരുക്കോണിലെ ചെളിപോലെ ഞാനവരെ ചവിട്ടിക്കുഴച്ചു.
43 Thou dost deliver me From the strivings of the people, Thou placest me for a head of nations, A people I have not known do serve me.
ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തിന്റെ ആക്രമണങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ വിടുവിച്ചു; അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്ക് അധിപതിയാക്കി. ഞാൻ അറിയാത്ത രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളിലെ ജനം എന്നെ സേവിക്കുന്നു,
44 At the hearing of the ear they hearken to me, Sons of a stranger feign obedience to me,
വിദേശികൾ എന്റെമുമ്പിൽ നടുങ്ങുന്നു; അവരെന്നെ കേൾക്കുന്നമാത്രയിൽത്തന്നെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നു.
45 Sons of a stranger fade away, And are slain out of their close places.
അവരുടെ ആത്മധൈര്യം ചോർന്നുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ഒളിത്താവളങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് വിറച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പുറത്തുവരുന്നു.
46 Jehovah liveth — and blessed [is] my rock, And exalted is the God of my salvation.
യഹോവ ജീവിക്കുന്നു! എന്റെ പാറ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെടട്ടെ! എന്റെ രക്ഷകനായ ദൈവം അത്യുന്നതൻ!
47 God — who is giving vengeance to me, And He subdueth peoples under me,
അവിടന്ന് എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി പ്രതികാരംചെയ്യുന്ന ദൈവം, അവിടന്ന് രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളെ എന്റെ കാൽക്കീഴാക്കി തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു,
48 My deliverer from mine enemies, Above my withstanders Thou raisest me, From a man of violence dost deliver me.
അവിടന്നെന്നെ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളിൽനിന്ന് രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. എന്റെ വൈരികൾക്കുമേൽ അവിടന്നെന്നെ ഉയർത്തി; അക്രമികളിൽനിന്ന് അവിടന്നെന്നെ മോചിപ്പിച്ചു.
49 Therefore I confess Thee among nations, O Jehovah, And to Thy name I sing praise,
അതുകൊണ്ട്, യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ അങ്ങയെ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളുടെ മധ്യേ പുകഴ്ത്തും; അവിടത്തെ നാമത്തിനു സ്തുതിപാടും.
50 Magnifying the salvation of His king, And doing kindness to His anointed, To David, and to his seed — unto the age!
അവിടന്ന് തന്റെ രാജാവിനു മഹാവിജയം നൽകുന്നു; അവിടത്തെ അഭിഷിക്തനോട് അചഞ്ചലസ്നേഹം പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കുന്നു, ദാവീദിനോടും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പിൻഗാമികളോടും എന്നേക്കുംതന്നെ.
