Psalms 146

1 Praise ye Jah! Praise, O my soul, Jehovah.

Louez l'Éternel! Mon âme, loue l'Éternel!

2 I praise Jehovah during my life, I sing praise to my God while I exist.

Je louerai l'Éternel tant que je vivrai; Je célébrerai mon Dieu, tant que j'existerai.

3 Trust not in princes — in a son of man, For he hath no deliverance.

Ne mettez pas votre confiance dans les grands de la terre, Ni dans les hommes mortels, qui ne sauraient délivrer.

4 His spirit goeth forth, he returneth to his earth, In that day have his thoughts perished.

Leur souffle s'en va: ils retournent à la poussière. Et ce jour-là, leurs desseins sont anéantis.

5 O the happiness of him Who hath the God of Jacob for his help, His hope [is] on Jehovah his God,

Heureux l'homme qui a le Dieu de Jacob pour appui, Et qui met son espoir en l'Éternel, son Dieu.

6 Making the heavens and earth, The sea and all that [is] in them, Who is keeping truth to the age,

C'est le Dieu qui a fait les cieux et la terre, La mer et tout ce qui s'y trouve; Qui demeure fidèle éternellement;

7 Doing judgment for the oppressed, Giving bread to the hungry.

Qui fait droit aux opprimés; Qui donne de la nourriture à ceux qui ont faim.

8 Jehovah is loosing the prisoners, Jehovah is opening (the eyes of) the blind, Jehovah is raising the bowed down, Jehovah is loving the righteous,

L'Éternel rend la liberté aux captifs; L'Éternel ouvre les yeux des aveugles; L'Éternel redresse ceux qui sont courbés; L'Éternel aime les justes.

9 Jehovah is preserving the strangers, The fatherless and widow He causeth to stand, And the way of the wicked He turneth upside down.

L'Éternel protège les étrangers; Il soutient l'orphelin et la veuve; Mais il rend tortueuse la voie suivie par les méchants.

10 Jehovah doth reign to the age, Thy God, O Zion, to generation and generation, Praise ye Jah!

L'Éternel régnera éternellement. Sion, ton Dieu subsiste d'âge en âge! Louez l'Éternel!
