Psalms 146

1 Praise ye Jah! Praise, O my soul, Jehovah.

Louez l'Eternel. Mon âme, loue l'Eternel.

2 I praise Jehovah during my life, I sing praise to my God while I exist.

Je louerai l'Eternel durant ma vie, je psalmodierai à mon Dieu tant que je vivrai.

3 Trust not in princes — in a son of man, For he hath no deliverance.

Ne vous assurez point sur les principaux [d'entre les peuples, ni] sur [aucun] fils d'homme, à qui [il n'appartient] point de délivrer.

4 His spirit goeth forth, he returneth to his earth, In that day have his thoughts perished.

Son esprit sort, [et l'homme] retourne en sa terre, [et] en ce jour-là ses desseins périssent.

5 O the happiness of him Who hath the God of Jacob for his help, His hope [is] on Jehovah his God,

Ô que bienheureux est celui à qui le [Dieu] Fort de Jacob est en aide, [et] dont l'attente est en l'Eternel son Dieu;

6 Making the heavens and earth, The sea and all that [is] in them, Who is keeping truth to the age,

Qui a fait les cieux et la terre, la mer, et tout ce qui y est, [et] qui garde la vérité à toujours!

7 Doing judgment for the oppressed, Giving bread to the hungry.

Qui fait droit à ceux à qui on fait tort; et qui donne du pain à ceux qui ont faim. L'Eternel délie ceux qui sont liés.

8 Jehovah is loosing the prisoners, Jehovah is opening (the eyes of) the blind, Jehovah is raising the bowed down, Jehovah is loving the righteous,

L'Eternel ouvre [les yeux] aux aveugles; l'Eternel redresse ceux qui sont courbés; l'Eternel aime les justes.

9 Jehovah is preserving the strangers, The fatherless and widow He causeth to stand, And the way of the wicked He turneth upside down.

L'Eternel garde les étrangers, il maintient l'orphelin et la veuve, et renverse le train des méchants.

10 Jehovah doth reign to the age, Thy God, O Zion, to generation and generation, Praise ye Jah!

L'Eternel régnera à toujours. Ô Sion! ton Dieu est d'âge en âge. Louez l'Eternel.
