< Psalms 137 >
1 By rivers of Babylon — There we did sit, Yea, we wept when we remembered Zion.
Babilonia nsubɔntene ho, ɛhɔ na yɛtena suiɛ ɛberɛ a yɛkaee Sion no.
2 On willows in its midst we hung our harps.
Ɛhɔ nsukakye nnua so na yɛde yɛn asankuo sensɛneeɛ,
3 For there our captors asked us the words of a song, And our spoilers — joy: 'Sing ye to us of a song of Zion.'
ɛhɔ na yɛn nnommumfafoɔ bisaa yɛn nnwom, yɛn ahohiahiafoɔ pɛɛ yɛn hɔ ahurisie nnwom; wɔkaa sɛ, “Monto Sion nnwom baako mma yɛn!”
4 How do we sing the song of Jehovah, On the land of a stranger?
Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na yɛatumi ato Awurade nnwom ɛberɛ a yɛwɔ ananafoɔ asase so?
5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, my right hand forgetteth!
Ao Yerusalem, sɛ mewerɛ firi wo a ma me nsa nifa werɛ mfiri sankubɔ.
6 My tongue doth cleave to my palate, If I do not remember thee, If I do not exalt Jerusalem above my chief joy.
Sɛ mankae wo sɛ mʼanigyedeɛ kɛseɛ pa ara a, ma me tɛkrɛma nka mfam mʼanomu.
7 Remember, Jehovah, for the sons of Edom, The day of Jerusalem, Those saying, 'Rase, rase to its foundation!'
Ao Awurade, kae deɛ Edomfoɔ yɛeɛ wɔ ɛda a Yerusalem hwee ase no. Wɔteam sɛ, “Monnwiri, monnwiri ngu fam nkɔka nʼafapem!”
8 O daughter of Babylon, O destroyed one, O the happiness of him who repayeth to thee thy deed, That thou hast done to us.
Ao Babilonia babaa a wɔahyɛ sɛ wɔbɛsɛe wo, nhyira nka deɛ ɔtua wo ka wɔ deɛ wode ayɛ yɛn so.
9 O the happiness of him who doth seize, And hath dashed thy sucklings on the rock!
Nhyira nka deɛ ɔkyekyee wo nkokoaa de wɔn bobɔɔ abotan so.
