Psalms 131

1 A Song of the Ascents, by David. Jehovah, my heart hath not been haughty, Nor have mine eyes been high, Nor have I walked in great things, And in things too wonderful for me.

Ein Wallfahrtslied. Von David. O HERR, mein Herz ist nicht hoffärtig, und meine Blicke sind nicht stolz, und ich gehe nicht mit Dingen um, die mir zu groß und zu wunderbar sind.

2 Have I not compared, and kept silent my soul, As a weaned one by its mother? As a weaned one by me [is] my soul.

Nein! Ich habe meine Seele beruhigt und gestillt. Wie ein entwöhntes Kind bei seiner Mutter, wie ein entwöhntes Kind ist meine Seele stille in mir.

3 Israel doth wait on Jehovah, From henceforth, and unto the age!

Israel, hoffe auf den HERRN von nun an bis in Ewigkeit!
