< Psalms 129 >

1 A Song of the Ascents. Often they distressed me from my youth, Pray, let Israel say:
Wimbo wa kwenda juu. Wamenionea mno tangu ujana wangu; Israeli na aseme sasa:
2 Often they distressed me from my youth, Yet they have not prevailed over me.
wamenionea mno tangu ujana wangu, lakini bado hawajanishinda.
3 Over my back have ploughers ploughed, They have made long their furrows.
Wakulima wamelima mgongo wangu, na kufanya mifereji yao mirefu.
4 Jehovah [is] righteous, He hath cut asunder cords of the wicked.
Lakini Bwana ni mwenye haki; amenifungua toka kamba za waovu.
5 Confounded and turn backward do all hating Zion.
Wale wote waichukiao Sayuni na warudishwe nyuma kwa aibu.
6 They are as grass of the roofs, That before it was drawn out withereth,
Wawe kama majani juu ya paa, ambayo hunyauka kabla hayajakua;
7 That hath not filled the hand of a reaper, And the bosom of a binder of sheaves.
kwa hayo mvunaji hawezi kujaza vitanga vyake, wala akusanyaye kujaza mikono yake.
8 And the passers by have not said, 'The blessing of Jehovah [is] on you, We blessed you in the Name of Jehovah!'
Wale wapitao karibu na wasiseme, “Baraka ya Bwana iwe juu yako; tunakubariki katika jina la Bwana.”
