Proverbs 8
1 Doth not wisdom call? And understanding give forth her voice?
के बुद्धिले आव्हान गर्दैन र? के समझशक्तिले त्यसको सोर उचाल्दैन र?
2 At the head of high places by the way, Between the paths she hath stood,
बाटोको छेउका उच्च ठाउँहरूमा, चौबाटाहरूमा बुद्धिले आफ्नो ठाउँ लिएको छ ।
3 At the side of the gates, at the mouth of the city, The entrance of the openings, she crieth aloud,
सहरको मूल ढोकाको सामु, प्रवेशद्वारमा त्यो चर्को सोरले यसरी कराउँछ,
4 'Unto you, O men, I call, And my voice [is] unto the sons of men.
“हे मानिसहरू हो, म तिमीहरूलाई नै आव्हान गर्दछु । मेरो सोर मानव-जातिका छोराहरूका लागि हो ।
5 Understand, ye simple ones, prudence, And ye fools, understand the heart,
तिमीहरू जो निर्बुद्धि छौ, बुद्धि प्राप्त गर । तिमीहरू जो मूर्ख छौ, तिमीहरूले समझशक्तिको हृदय प्राप्त गर ।
6 Hearken, for noble things I speak, And the opening of my lips [is] uprightness.
सुन, किनकि म आदरणीय कुराहरूको विषयमा बताउने छु, र मेरो ओठ खुला हुँदा मैले सिधा कुराहरू भन्ने छु ।
7 For truth doth my mouth utter, And an abomination to my lips [is] wickedness.
किनकि मेरो मुखले भरोसायोग्य कुरा बताउँछ, र दुष्टता मेरो ओठको लागि घृणित कुरो हो ।
8 In righteousness [are] all the sayings of my mouth, Nothing in them is froward and perverse.
मेरो मुखका सबै वचन न्यायपूर्ण छन् । तिनमा कुनै पनि बाङ्गोटिङ्गो छैन वा तिनले गलत मार्गमा लैजाँदैनन् ।
9 All of them [are] plain to the intelligent, And upright to those finding knowledge.
बुझ्नेको व्यक्तिको लागि ती सबै सिधा छन् । ज्ञान पाउनेहरूका लागि मेरा वचनहरू उचित छन् ।
10 Receive my instruction, and not silver, And knowledge rather than choice gold.
चाँदीभन्दा मेरो निर्देशनलाई प्राप्त गर । निखुर सुनभन्दा मेरो ज्ञानलाई प्राप्त गर ।
11 For better [is] wisdom than rubies, Yea, all delights are not comparable with it.
किनकि बुद्धि रत्नहरूभन्दा बहुमूल्य हुन्छ । कुनै पनि खजाना यसको समान छैन ।
12 I, wisdom, have dwelt with prudence, And a knowledge of devices I find out.
म बुद्धि सावधानीसित बस्छु, र म ज्ञान र विवेक अधिकार गर्छु ।
13 The fear of Jehovah [is] to hate evil; Pride, and arrogance, and an evil way, And a froward mouth, I have hated.
परमप्रभुको भय खराबीलाई घृणा गर्नु हो । म घमण्ड, अहङ्कार, दुष्ट मार्ग र भड्काउने बोलीवचनलाई घृणा गर्दछु । म तिनीहरूलाई घृणा गर्दछु ।
14 Mine [is] counsel and substance, I [am] understanding, I have might.
मसित असल सरसल्लाह र पक्का बुद्धि छ । म अन्तर्दृष्टि हुँ । मसित सामर्थ्य छ ।
15 By me kings reign, and princes decree righteousness,
मद्वारा नै राजाहरूले शासन गर्छन्, र शासकहरूले न्यायपूर्ण व्यवस्था बनाउँछन् ।
16 By me do chiefs rule, and nobles, All judges of the earth.
मद्वारा नै राजकुमारहरू र कुलीनहरूले शासन गर्छन्, अनि सबैले न्यायसित शासन चलाउँछन् ।
17 I love those loving me, And those seeking me earnestly do find me.
मलाई प्रेम गर्नेहरूलाई म प्रेम गर्दछु, र मलाई परिश्रमसाथ खोज्नेहरूले मलाई भेट्टाउँछन् ।
18 Wealth and honour [are] with me, Lasting substance and righteousness.
मसित रुपियाँ-पैसा र इज्जत, टिकिरहने धन-सम्पत्ति र धार्मिकता छन् ।
19 Better [is] my fruit than gold, even fine gold, And mine increase than choice silver.
मेरो फल सुनभन्दा अर्थात् निखुर सुनभन्दा श्रेष्ठ छ । मेरो उत्पादन निखुर चाँदीभन्दा श्रेष्ठ छ ।
20 In a path of righteousness I cause to walk, In midst of paths of judgment,
म धार्मिकताको मार्गमा, न्यायका मार्गहरूका बिचमा हिँड्छु ।
21 To cause my lovers to inherit substance, Yea, their treasures I fill.
परिणामस्वरूप, मलाई प्रेम गर्नेहरूलाई म धन-सम्पत्तिले सम्पन्न तुल्याउने छु । म तिनीहरूका ढुकुटीहरू भरिदिने छु ।
22 Jehovah possessed me — the beginning of His way, Before His works since then.
परमप्रभुले मलाई सुरुमा अर्थात् उहाँका सुरुका कार्यहरूभन्दा पहिले नै सृष्टि गर्नुभयो ।
23 From the age I was anointed, from the first, From former states of the earth.
पृथ्वीको आरम्भदेखि नै युगौँ पहिले मलाई बनाइएको थियो ।
24 In there being no depths, I was brought forth, In there being no fountains heavy [with] waters,
महासागरहरू हुनुभन्दा पहिले नै, पानीले भरिपूर्ण खोला-नालाहरू हुनुभन्दा पहिले नै मलाई जन्म दिइयो ।
25 Before mountains were sunk, Before heights, I was brought forth.
पहाडहरू स्थापित गरिनुअगि, डाँडाहरू बनाइनुअगि म जन्मेको थिएँ ।
26 While He had not made the earth, and out-places, And the top of the dusts of the world.
परमप्रभुले पृथ्वी वा जमिनहरू वा संसारको पहिलो धुलो बनाउनुअगि म जन्मेको थिएँ ।
27 In His preparing the heavens I [am] there, In His decreeing a circle on the face of the deep,
उहाँले आकाशहरू स्थापित गर्नुहुँदा, महासागरको सतहमा घेरा लगाउनुहुँदा म त्यहाँ थिएँ ।
28 In His strengthening clouds above, In His making strong fountains of the deep,
उहाँले माथि बादलहरू स्थापित गर्नुहुँदा र महासागरका मूलहरूलाई तिनीहरूका स्थानमा बसाल्नुहुँदा म त्यहाँ थिएँ ।
29 In His setting for the sea its limit, And the waters transgress not His command, In His decreeing the foundations of earth,
उहाँको आज्ञाविना पानी आफ्नो सिमानाभन्दा बाहिर नजाओस् भन्नाका लागि उहाँले समुद्रको सिमा तोकिदिनुहुँदा र सुक्खा भूमिका जगहरू बसाल्नुहुँदा म त्यहाँ थिएँ ।
30 Then I am near Him, a workman, And I am a delight — day by day. Rejoicing before Him at all times,
एउटा सिपालु कारीगरझैँ म उहाँको छेउमा थिएँ । दिनप्रति दिन म उहाँको आनन्द भएँ र सधैँभरि उहाँको सामु आनन्दित हुन्थेँ ।
31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of His earth, And my delights [are] with the sons of men.
म उहाँको सारा संसारमा रमाउँदै थिएँ, र मानव-जातिका छोराहरूमा मेरो आनन्द थियो ।
32 And now, ye sons, hearken to me, Yea, happy are they who keep my ways.
अब हे मेरा छोराहरू हो, मेरो कुरा सुन, किनकि मेरा मार्गहरूमा हिँड्ने आशिषित् हुने छन् ।
33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and slight not.
मेरो निर्देशनलाई सुनेर बुद्धिमान् होओ । यसलाई बेवास्ता नगर ।
34 O the happiness of the man hearkening to me, To watch at my doors day by day, To watch at the door-posts of my entrance.
मेरो कुरा सुन्ने जन आशिषित् हुने छ । मेरा ढोकाहरूको चौकोसनेर प्रतीक्षा गर्दै उसले हरेक दिन मेरा ढोकाहरूमा हेर्ने छ ।
35 For whoso is finding me, hath found life, And bringeth out good-will from Jehovah.
किनकि मलाई भेट्ने जोसुकैले पनि जीवन पाउँछ, र उसले परमप्रभुको निगाह पाउने छ ।
36 And whoso is missing me, is wronging his soul, All hating me have loved death!
तर असफल हुनेले चाहिँ आफ्नै जीवनमा हानि ल्याउँछ । मलाई घृणा गर्ने सबैले मृत्युलाई प्रेम गर्छ ।”
