< Proverbs 25 >

1 Also these are Proverbs of Solomon, that men of Hezekiah king of Judah transcribed: —
Tala masese mosusu ya Salomo oyo bato ya Ezekiasi, mokonzi ya Yuda, bakomaki.
2 The honour of God [is] to hide a thing, And the honour of kings to search out a matter.
Nzambe azwaka nkembo mpo ete asalaka makambo oyo bato bayebaka te, mpe bakonzi bazwaka nkembo mpo ete balukaka kososola tina ya makambo.
3 The heavens for height, and the earth for depth, And the heart of kings — [are] unsearchable.
Ndenge bakokaka te komeka bosanda ya Lola to bozindo ya mabele, ndenge wana mpe bakoki te kososola mitema ya bakonzi.
4 Take away dross from silver, And a vessel for the refiner goeth forth,
Soki olongoli mbindo na palata, ekobimisa mbeki mpo na monyangwisi bibende na moto.
5 Take away the wicked before a king, And established in righteousness is his throne.
Soki olongoli moto mabe liboso ya mokonzi, kiti na ye ya bokonzi ekolendisama na bosembo.
6 Honour not thyself before a king, And in the place of the great stand not.
Komikumisaka te liboso ya mokonzi, mpe komivandisaka te na esika ya bato minene;
7 For better [that] he hath said to thee, 'Come thou up hither,' Than [that] he humble thee before a noble, Whom thine eyes have seen.
pamba te eleki malamu ete baloba na yo: « Yaka kovanda na esika oyo ya lokumu, » na esika ete bayokisa yo soni na miso ya mokonzi.
8 Go not forth to strive, haste, turn, What dost thou in its latter end, When thy neighbour causeth thee to blush?
Kowelaka te kokende kofunda epai ya basambisi makambo oyo osili komona na miso, pamba te okosala nini na suka soki moninga na yo asukisi yo?
9 Thy cause plead with thy neighbour, And the secret counsel of another reveal not,
Soki ozali kowelana na moninga na yo, kobimisa sekele ya moto mosusu te,
10 Lest the hearer put thee to shame, And thine evil report turn not back.
noki te ayoka yango mpe ayokisa yo soni, boye okosambwa mpo na libela.
11 Apples of gold in imagery of silver, [Is] the word spoken at its fit times.
Liloba oyo elobami na tango oyo ekoki ezali lokola wolo oyo basangisi na palata.
12 A ring of gold, and an ornament of pure gold, [Is] the wise reprover to an attentive ear.
Pamela ya moto ya bwanya epai ya moto oyo ayokaka ezali lokola wolo ya peto mpe sheneti ya wolo.
13 As a vessel of snow in a day of harvest, [So is] a faithful ambassador to those sending him, And the soul of his masters he refresheth.
Motindami ya sembo azalaka lokola mopepe ya malili ya mvula ya pembe na tango ya kobuka bambuma, asalaka esengo ya mokonzi na ye.
14 Clouds and wind, and rain there is none, [Is] a man boasting himself in a false gift.
Moto oyo amikumisaka ete akabaka, nzokande apesaka na ye eloko te, azali lokola mapata mpe mopepe oyo ezangi mvula.
15 By long-suffering is a ruler persuaded, And a soft tongue breaketh a bone.
Moto oyo akangaka motema akoki kobongola makanisi ya mokonzi, mpe maloba ya malamu ebukaka mikuwa.
16 Honey thou hast found — eat thy sufficiency, Lest thou be satiated [with] it, and hast vomited it.
Soki omoni mafuta ya nzoyi, lia oyo ekoki na yo, pamba te soki olie yango na lokoso, okosanza yango.
17 Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house, Lest he be satiated [with] thee, and have hated thee.
Kokendaka pamba-pamba te na ndako ya moninga na yo, noki te akotonda yo mpe akolemba yo.
18 A maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow, [Is] the man testifying against his neighbour a false testimony.
Moto oyo apesaka matatoli ya lokuta mpo na kosala moninga na ye mabe azali lokola marto, mopanga mpe mbanzi ya songe.
19 A bad tooth, and a tottering foot, [Is] the confidence of the treacherous in a day of adversity.
Kotia elikya na zoba na tango na pasi ezali lokola lino ebukani mpe lokolo elembi.
20 Whoso is taking away a garment in a cold day, [Is as] vinegar on nitre, And a singer of songs on a sad heart.
Koyembela moto oyo azali na mawa banzembo ya esengo ezali lokola kolongola ye kazaka na tango ya malili to kotia masanga ya ngayi na pota.
21 If he who is hating thee doth hunger, cause him to eat bread, And if he thirst, cause him to drink water.
Soki monguna na yo azali na nzala, pesa ye bilei; soki azali na posa ya mayi, pesa ye mayi ya komela.
22 For coals thou art putting on his head, And Jehovah giveth recompense to thee.
Pamba te, soki osali bongo, okotondisa makala ya moto na likolo ya moto na ye, mpe Yawe akofuta yo.
23 A north wind bringeth forth rain, And a secret tongue — indignant faces.
Mopepe oyo ewutaka na ngambo ya nor, ebetisaka mvula, mpe lolemo oyo etongaka ekomisaka bilongi kanda-kanda.
24 Better to sit on a corner of a roof, Than [with] a woman of contentions, and a house of company.
Kovanda na songe ya ndako ezali malamu koleka kovanda elongo na mwasi oyo aswanaka-swanaka.
25 [As] cold waters for a weary soul, So [is] a good report from a far country.
Basango ya malamu oyo ewuti na mokili ya mosika ezali lokola mayi ya pio kati na motema ya moto oyo azali na posa ya mayi.
26 A spring troubled, and a fountain corrupt, [Is] the righteous falling before the wicked.
Moto ya sembo oyo asopanaka liboso ya moto mabe azali lokola liziba ya potopoto mpe etima oyo ebimisaka mayi ya mabe.
27 The eating of much honey is not good, Nor a searching out of one's own honour — honour.
Ezali malamu te kolia mafuta ya nzoyi ebele, mpe ezali malamu te koluka lokumu na yo moko.
28 A city broken down without walls, [Is] a man without restraint over his spirit!
Moto oyo akokaka te kokonza molimo na ye azali lokola engumba oyo ebukana mpe ezanga bamir.
