< Proverbs 24 >

1 Be not envious of evil men, And desire not to be with them.

2 For destruction doth their heart meditate, And perverseness do their lips speak.
Ajeh chu alung thim un thilse jeng agong un, akamdung uva jou le nal jeng aseijun ahi.
3 By wisdom is a house builded, And by understanding it establisheth itself.
Chihna jeh chun in akisadoh jin, chule hetkhen themna jal-a kitungdet ji ahi.
4 And by knowledge the inner parts are filled, [With] all precious and pleasant wealth.
Hetkhen themna akon insung dann jousea, thil manlutah tah le; lung lhaina thilpha chom haona dimset-ji ahi.
5 Mighty [is] the wise in strength, And a man of knowledge is strengthening power,
Miching chu mi thahat sang in ahat jon, hetna nei mi jong atha hatpa sang in ahat cheh jin ahi.
6 For by plans thou makest for thyself war, And deliverance [is] in a multitude of counsellors.
Ijeh-inem itileh lungthim thepna jal-a gal kisatji ahin, chule gal jona jong thumop them hoa kingam ahi.
7 Wisdom [is] high for a fool, In the gate he openeth not his mouth.
Chihna hi mingol ho din meiphah ahipon, thutanna kotpi mai lah'in jong seiding aneiji tapouve.
8 Whoso is devising to do evil, Him they call a master of wicked thoughts.
Koi hileh thilse bol ding ngaito chan chu, jou le nal-a natongpa tia kikou ding ahi.
9 The thought of folly [is] sin, And an abomination to man [is] a scorner.
Mingol ho thilse gonhi chonset ahin, mi ahilou lam'a tot chaveipa jong mi jousen athet ahibouve.
10 Thou hast shewed thyself weak in a day of adversity, Straitened is thy power,
Kidoupin nahin phah nikho teng jongleh lung lhadai hih in, ajeh chu lhahsamna'a nanei cheh ding ahibouve.
11 If [from] delivering those taken to death, And those slipping to the slaughter — thou keepest back.
Thina lam jon-a kijot hokhu huhhing loijin, chule min athagamna dinga kipal-lhu ho jong huhdoh loijin.
12 When thou sayest, 'Lo, we knew not this.' Is not the Ponderer of hearts He who understandeth? And the Keeper of thy soul He who knoweth? And He hath rendered to man according to his work.
Nangman, “vetem in, keihon hiche hi kahe phapouve,” tin nasei in, Ama bouvin mihem lungthim akholchil-a ahet chin ji hilou ham? Nalhagao vea ching jing pan hitobang hi amelchih jing hilou ham? Aman mihem koi hileh atoh dungjui cheh-a lethuhna anei ding hilou ham?
13 Eat my son, honey that [is] good, And the honeycomb — sweet to thy palate.
Kachapa, khoiju hi don in atui lheh jeng e, khoi-phanga apat hung pot khoiju hi nele chun alhum'a lhum ahi.
14 So [is] the knowledge of wisdom to thy soul, If thou hast found that there is a posterity And thy hope is not cut off.
Chihna kiti hi nalhagao dinga hiche tobang chu ahi. Chule chihna hi namu jouva ahileh khonung dinga phachom tah ahi.
15 Lay not wait, O wicked one, At the habitation of the righteous. Do not spoil his resting-place.
Miphalou bang in mikitah pa chu a-in pang dunga ga chang lhih hih in, mikitah pa in jong chomding gohih hel in.
16 For seven [times] doth the righteous fall and rise, And the wicked stumble in evil.
Ijeh-inem itileh mikitah kiti hi vel sagi jen lhu jongleh, athoudoh thei jin, hinlah miphalou ho chunga hamsetna ahung lhun teng akhup athal in aleh jitai.
17 In the falling of thine enemy rejoice not, And in his stumbling let not thy heart be joyful,
Namelma akipal lhuh teng kipanan neihih hel in, aman kipal lhuhna ato khah jongleh kipa thanopna'a nanei lou ding ahi.
18 Lest Jehovah see, and [it be] evil in His eyes, And He hath turned from off him His anger.
Ajeh chu Yahweh Pakai in hin mudoh leh, lunghanna'a anei loding ahi. Hijeh chun ama kon chun Yahweh Pakai lunghanna peldoh in.
19 Fret not thyself at evil doers, Be not envious at the wicked,
Thilse bol ho jeh in nang le nang kisih hih in, chule achon chan-u jong thangsetpi dan.
20 For there is not a posterity to the evil, The lamp of the wicked is extinguished.
Ajeh chu miphalou ding in khonung thua kinepna abeiyin, chule migilou ho thaomei kimut mit peh tei ding ahi.
21 Fear Jehovah, my son, and the king, With changers mix not up thyself,
Kachapa, Yahweh Pakai le lengpa ging in lang, Anitah lhon-a athua nanun ding ahi.
22 For suddenly doth their calamity rise, And the ruin of them both — who knoweth!
Ajeh chu Amania kon hetman louva hamsetna hung lhung ding, Yahweh Pakai le lengpa'a kon hung lhung ding manthahna chu koiman ahe thei poi.
23 These also are for the wise: — To discern faces in judgment is not good.
Hicheho jouse jong hi miching ho thusei ahisoh keijin: Thutan-a langneina nei kiti jong hi thildih ahipoi.
24 Whoso is saying to the wicked, 'Thou [art] righteous,' Peoples execrate him — nations abhor him.
Migiloupa kom'a, “Nangman themmona nanei poi,” tia sei chu, mitin vaipi gaosap chang ding, namtin in athet ding ahi.
25 And to those reproving it is pleasant, And on them cometh a good blessing.
Miphalou phohsal pa chu kipah thanom'a um ding, chule hitobang mi chunga chu phattheina lhung ding ahi.
26 Lips he kisseth who is returning straightforward words.
Thu kitohdel-a donbutna chu kigolngai kibeng chop avetsah ahi.
27 Prepare in an out-place thy work, And make it ready in the field — go afterwards, Then thou hast built thy house.
Polam'a natoh ding abonchan kigontoh in lang, chule lou laija natohna ding aboncha naki gonsoh keija; chujou tengleh na chenna ding in sapan tan.
28 Be not a witness for nought against thy neighbour, Or thou hast enticed with thy lips.
Ajeh beijin naheng nakom dounan hettohsah in pang hih in, nakam sunga jouthu jong seitahih in.
29 Say not, 'As he did to me, so I do to him, I render to each according to his work.'
Mi kom'a “Kachunga anatoh bang banga keiman jong achunga katoh ding ahi; chule anatoh bang banga kalethuh tei ding ahi,” tin jong seidan.
30 Near the field of a slothful man I passed by, And near the vineyard of a man lacking heart.
Keiman mithase khat loulai kahin jot pan, lungthimbei mikhat lengpilei kaho pan ahi.
31 And lo, it hath gone up — all of it — thorns! Covered its face have nettles, And its stone wall hath been broken down.
Hiche loulai chu apum chang in lingle khao akhul lha jeng in, atollham jenga jong ling adimset in, apal jong achimsoh tan ahi.
32 And I see — I — I do set my heart, I have seen — I have received instruction,
Hichun keiman kaven kagel in, hichea kon hin kihilna khat kaki mudoh in ahi.
33 A little sleep — a little slumber — A little folding of the hands to lie down.
Jalkhun a imut jengseh, kichol ding bouseh, chule khut teni umthim sah-a kichol ding kati tai.
34 And thy poverty hath come [as] a traveller, And thy want as an armed man!
Gucha le michom in mi abulhu banga vaichat nan nahin lhun den ding, nahin delkhumpa bang banga kel thoa um ding nahitai.
