Proverbs 21
1 Rivulets of waters [is] the heart of a king in the hand of Jehovah, Wherever He pleaseth He inclineth it.
El Señor dirige las decisiones del rey como si fuera una corriente de agua, enviándola en la dirección que él quiere.
2 Every way of a man [is] right in his own eyes, And Jehovah is pondering hearts.
La gente cree que lo que hace es lo correcto, pero el Señor mira sus motivos.
3 To do righteousness and judgment, Is chosen of Jehovah rather than sacrifice.
Hacer lo recto y justo agrada al Señor más que los sacrificios.
4 Loftiness of eyes, and breadth of heart, Tillage of the wicked [is] sin.
El orgullo y la arrogancia son los pecados que guían la vida de los malvados.
5 The purposes of the diligent [are] only to advantage, And of every hasty one, only to want.
Los que hacen planes con anticipación y trabajan arduamente tendrán abundancia. Mientras que los que actúan precipitadamente terminarán en la pobreza.
6 The making of treasures by a lying tongue, [Is] a vanity driven away of those seeking death.
El dinero que se obtiene con mentiras es como el humo en el viento. Su búsqueda terminará en muerte.
7 The spoil of the wicked catcheth them, Because they have refused to do judgment.
La destrucción causada por los malvados los destruirá, y será por negarse a hacer lo correcto.
8 Froward [is] the way of a man who is vile, And the pure — upright [is] his work.
Los culpables viven vidas torcidas, pero los inocentes siguen caminos rectos.
9 Better to sit on a corner of the roof, Than [with] a woman of contentions and a house of company.
Es mejor vivir en un rincón del terrado, que compartir toda una casa con una esposa conflictiva.
10 The soul of the wicked hath desired evil, Not gracious in his eyes is his neighbour.
Los malvados se alegran haciendo el mal, y no les importa el mal que le causan a los demás.
11 When the scorner is punished, the simple becometh wise, And in giving understanding to the wise He receiveth knowledge.
Cuando un burlador es castigado, un inmaduro puede aprender sabiduría. Cuando los sabios son educados, obtienen conocimiento.
12 The Righteous One is acting wisely Towards the house of the wicked, He is overthrowing the wicked for wickedness.
El Dios de justicia ve lo que sucede en las casas de los malvados, y los derriba hasta el desastre.
13 Whoso is shutting his ear from the cry of the poor, He also doth cry, and is not answered.
Si te rehúsas a escuchar el lamento de los pobres, tampoco tus lamentos serán oídos.
14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger, And a bribe in the bosom strong fury.
Un regalo dado en secreto calma la ira, y un botín oculto apacigua el furor.
15 To do justice [is] joy to the righteous, But ruin to workers of iniquity.
Cuando se hace justicia, los justos se alegran; pero los que hacen el mal se espantan.
16 A man who is wandering from the way of understanding, In an assembly of Rephaim resteth.
El que se desvía del camino del entendimiento termina con los muertos.
17 Whoso [is] loving mirth [is] a poor man, Whoso is loving wine and oil maketh no wealth.
Si amas el placer, te volverás pobre. Si amas el vino y el aceite, nunca llegarás a ser rico.
18 The wicked [is] an atonement for the righteous, And for the upright the treacherous dealer.
Los que pagan el precio son los malvados y no los justos; también pagan los mentirosos y no los que viven en rectitud.
19 Better to dwell in a wilderness land, Than [with] a woman of contentions and anger.
Es mejor vivir en un desierto que con una esposa conflictiva y de mal temperamento.
20 A treasure to be desired, and oil, [Is] in the habitation of the wise, And a foolish man swalloweth it up.
Los sabios retienen su riqueza y el aceite que poseen, pero los tontos gastan todo lo que tienen.
21 Whoso is pursuing righteousness and kindness, Findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
Si procuras la bondad y el amor fiel, hallarás vida, prosperidad y honra.
22 A city of the mighty hath the wise gone up, And bringeth down the strength of its confidence.
Los sabios pueden conquistar la ciudad de los guerreros fuertes, y derribar las fortalezas que creen que los protegen.
23 Whoso is keeping his mouth and his tongue, Is keeping from adversities his soul.
Si cuidas tus palabras, te librarás de muchos problemas.
24 Proud, haughty, scorner [is] his name, Who is working in the wrath of pride.
Burlador orgulloso y presumido es el nombre del que actúa con arrogancia insolente.
25 The desire of the slothful slayeth him, For his hands have refused to work.
Los holgazanes morirán de hombre por negarse a trabajar.
26 All the day desiring he hath desired, And the righteous giveth and withholdeth not.
Hay quienes solo quieren tener más, pero los justos dan con generosidad.
27 The sacrifice of the wicked [is] abomination, Much more when in wickedness he bringeth it.
Los sacrificios de los malvados son detestables, y peor aún es cuando los traen con motivaciones malvadas.
28 A false witness doth perish, And an attentive man for ever speaketh.
Las mentiras de los testigos falsos se desvanecen, pero las palabras del testigo fiel permanecerán.
29 A wicked man hath hardened by his face, And the upright — he prepareth his way.
Los malvados actúan sin vergüenza alguna, pero los justos cuidan cada cosa que hacen.
30 There is no wisdom, nor understanding, Nor counsel, over-against Jehovah.
Toda la sabiduría, entendimiento e instrucción que puedas lograr no son nada delante del Señor.
31 A horse is prepared for a day of battle, And the deliverance [is] of Jehovah!
Puedes alistar tu caballo para la batalla, pero la victoria es del Señor.
