Proverbs 2
1 My son, if thou dost accept my sayings, And my commands dost lay up with thee,
Filho meu, se aceitares minhas palavras, e depositares em ti meus mandamentos,
2 To cause thine ear to attend to wisdom, Thou inclinest thy heart to understanding,
Para fazeres teus ouvidos darem atenção à sabedoria, [e] inclinares teu coração à inteligência;
3 For, if for intelligence thou callest, For understanding givest forth thy voice,
E se clamares à prudência, [e] à inteligência dirigires tua voz;
4 If thou dost seek her as silver, And as hid treasures searchest for her,
Se tu a buscares como a prata, e a procurares como que a tesouros escondidos,
5 Then understandest thou fear of Jehovah, And knowledge of God thou findest.
Então entenderás o temor ao SENHOR, e acharás o conhecimento de Deus.
6 For Jehovah giveth wisdom, From His mouth knowledge and understanding.
Porque o SENHOR dá sabedoria; de sua boca [vem] o conhecimento e o entendimento.
7 Even to lay up for the upright substance, A shield for those walking uprightly.
Ele reserva a boa sabedoria para os corretos; [ele é] escudo para os que andam em sinceridade.
8 To keep the paths of judgment, And the way of His saints He preserveth.
Para guardar os caminhos do juízo; e conservar os passos de seus santos.
9 Then understandest thou righteousness, And judgment, and uprightness — every good path.
Então entenderás a justiça e o juízo, e a equidade; [e] todo bom caminho.
10 For wisdom cometh into thy heart, And knowledge to thy soul is pleasant,
Quando a sabedoria entrar em teu coração, e o conhecimento for agradável à tua alma.
11 Thoughtfulness doth watch over thee, Understanding doth keep thee,
O bom senso te guardará, e o entendimento te preservará:
12 To deliver thee from an evil way, From any speaking froward things,
- Para te livrar do mau caminho, e dos homens que falam perversidades;
13 Who are forsaking paths of uprightness, To walk in ways of darkness,
Que deixam as veredas da justiça para andarem pelos caminhos das trevas;
14 Who are rejoicing to do evil, They delight in frowardness of the wicked,
Que se alegram em fazer o mal, e se enchem de alegria com as perversidades dos maus;
15 Whose paths [are] crooked, Yea, they are perverted in their ways.
Cujas veredas são distorcidas, e desviadas em seus percursos.
16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, From the stranger who hath made smooth her sayings,
- Para te livrar da mulher estranha, e da pervertida, [que] lisonjeia com suas palavras;
17 Who is forsaking the guide of her youth, And the covenant of her God hath forgotten.
Que abandona o guia de sua juventude, e se esquece do pacto de seu Deus.
18 For her house hath inclined unto death, And unto Rephaim her paths.
Porque sua casa se inclina para a morte, e seus caminhos para os mortos.
19 None going in unto her turn back, Nor do they reach the paths of life.
Todos os que entrarem a ela, não voltarão mais; e não alcançarão os caminhos da vida.
20 That thou dost go in the way of the good, And the paths of the righteous dost keep.
- Para andares no caminho dos bons, e te guardares nas veredas dos justos.
21 For the upright do inhabit the earth, And the perfect are left in it,
Porque os corretos habitarão a terra; e os íntegros nela permanecerão.
22 And the wicked from the earth are cut off, And treacherous dealers plucked out of it!
Porém os perversos serão cortados da terra, e os infiéis serão arrancados dela.
