Proverbs 2
1 My son, if thou dost accept my sayings, And my commands dost lay up with thee,
എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞേ, നീ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിച്ച് എന്റെ കൽപ്പനകൾ നിന്റെയുള്ളിൽ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെക്കുകയും
2 To cause thine ear to attend to wisdom, Thou inclinest thy heart to understanding,
ജ്ഞാനത്തിനുവേണ്ടി നിന്റെ കാതുകൾ തിരിക്കുകയും വിവേകത്തിനായി ഹൃദയം ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ വെക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുക.
3 For, if for intelligence thou callest, For understanding givest forth thy voice,
ഉൾക്കാഴ്ചയ്ക്കുവേണ്ടി കേണപേക്ഷിക്കുകയും വിവേകത്തിനായി നിലവിളിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.
4 If thou dost seek her as silver, And as hid treasures searchest for her,
അതിനെ നീ വെള്ളി എന്നതുപോലെ അന്വേഷിക്കുകയും നിഗൂഢനിധി എന്നതുപോലെ തേടുകയും ചെയ്യുക.
5 Then understandest thou fear of Jehovah, And knowledge of God thou findest.
അപ്പോൾ നീ യഹോവയോടുള്ള ഭക്തി എന്തെന്നു ഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും, ദൈവത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പരിജ്ഞാനം കണ്ടെത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും.
6 For Jehovah giveth wisdom, From His mouth knowledge and understanding.
കാരണം ജ്ഞാനം പ്രദാനംചെയ്യുന്നത് യഹോവയാണ്; പരിജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകവും ഉത്ഭവിക്കുന്നത് തിരുവായിൽനിന്നാണ്.
7 Even to lay up for the upright substance, A shield for those walking uprightly.
പരമാർഥികൾക്ക് അവിടന്ന് വിജയം സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു, നിഷ്കളങ്കരായി ജീവിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അവിടന്ന് ഒരു സംരക്ഷണവലയമാണ്,
8 To keep the paths of judgment, And the way of His saints He preserveth.
നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ കാലഗതി അവിടന്നു കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കുകയും തന്റെ വിശ്വസ്തരെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
9 Then understandest thou righteousness, And judgment, and uprightness — every good path.
അങ്ങനെ നീ, നീതിയുക്തവും ന്യായമായതും ഔചിത്യമായതുമായ സകലമാർഗവും ഗ്രഹിക്കും.
10 For wisdom cometh into thy heart, And knowledge to thy soul is pleasant,
കാരണം നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ജ്ഞാനം ഉദയംചെയ്യും പരിജ്ഞാനം നിന്റെ ആത്മാവിന് ഇമ്പമായിരിക്കും.
11 Thoughtfulness doth watch over thee, Understanding doth keep thee,
വിവേചനശക്തി നിന്നെ സംരക്ഷിക്കും, വിവേകം നിന്നെ കാത്തുപരിപാലിക്കും.
12 To deliver thee from an evil way, From any speaking froward things,
ജ്ഞാനം നിന്നെ ദുഷ്ടമനുഷ്യരുടെ വഴികളിൽനിന്നും വഴിപിഴച്ചവരുടെ ഉപദേശത്തിൽനിന്നും രക്ഷിക്കും,
13 Who are forsaking paths of uprightness, To walk in ways of darkness,
ഇരുളടഞ്ഞ വഴികളിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവർ സത്യത്തിന്റെ മാർഗം വിട്ടുകളയുന്നു,
14 Who are rejoicing to do evil, They delight in frowardness of the wicked,
അവർ തിന്മയുടെ വൈകൃതങ്ങളിൽ ആമോദിക്കുകയും ദുഷ്ടതയിൽ ആനന്ദിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു,
15 Whose paths [are] crooked, Yea, they are perverted in their ways.
അവരുടെ മാർഗം കുടിലതനിറഞ്ഞതാണ് അവരുടെ ആസൂത്രണങ്ങൾ വക്രതനിറഞ്ഞതുമാണ്.
16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, From the stranger who hath made smooth her sayings,
ജ്ഞാനം നിന്നെ വ്യഭിചാരിണിയിൽനിന്നും ലൈംഗികധാർമികതയില്ലാത്തവളുടെ പ്രലോഭനഭാഷണങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും രക്ഷിക്കും,
17 Who is forsaking the guide of her youth, And the covenant of her God hath forgotten.
അവൾ തന്റെ യൗവനകാല ഭർത്താവിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയും ദൈവമുമ്പാകെയുള്ള അവളുടെ ഉടമ്പടി അവഗണിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
18 For her house hath inclined unto death, And unto Rephaim her paths.
അവളുടെ ഭവനം മരണത്തിലേക്കും അവളുടെ വഴികൾ പരേതാത്മാക്കളുടെ സമീപത്തേക്കും നയിക്കുന്നു.
19 None going in unto her turn back, Nor do they reach the paths of life.
അവളുടെ സമീപത്തേക്കു പോകുന്ന പുരുഷൻ മടങ്ങിവരുന്നില്ല, ജീവനിലേക്ക് ഒരിക്കലും മടങ്ങിയെത്താൻ അവന് കഴിയുകയില്ല.
20 That thou dost go in the way of the good, And the paths of the righteous dost keep.
ആയതിനാൽ, നീ സജ്ജനത്തിന്റെ പാതയിൽ നടക്കുകയും ധർമിഷ്ഠരുടെ വഴികൾ പിൻതുടരുകയുംവേണം.
21 For the upright do inhabit the earth, And the perfect are left in it,
കാരണം പരമാർഥികൾ ദേശത്ത് വസിക്കും നിഷ്കളങ്കർ അവിടെ സുസ്ഥിരരായിരിക്കും;
22 And the wicked from the earth are cut off, And treacherous dealers plucked out of it!
എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടമനുഷ്യർ ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് വിച്ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും, വഞ്ചകർ അവിടെനിന്ന് ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യപ്പെടും.
