Proverbs 15
1 A soft answer turneth back fury, And a grievous word raiseth up anger.
विनम्र जवाफले क्रोधलाई हटाउँछ, तर कठोर वचनले रिस उठाउँछ ।
2 The tongue of the wise maketh knowledge good, And the mouth of fools uttereth folly.
बुद्धिमान् मानिसहरूको जिब्रोले ज्ञानको तारिफ गर्छ, तर मूर्खहरूको मुखले मूर्खता खन्याउँछ ।
3 In every place are the eyes of Jehovah, Watching the evil and the good.
परमप्रभुको दृष्टि जताततै छ । उहाँले दुष्ट र असलमाथि नजर लगाउनुहुन्छ ।
4 A healed tongue [is] a tree of life, And perverseness in it — a breach in the spirit.
निको पार्ने जिब्रो जीवनको रुख हो, तर छलपूर्ण जिब्रोले आत्मालाई चोट पुर्याउँछ ।
5 A fool despiseth the instruction of his father, And whoso is regarding reproof is prudent.
मूर्खले आफ्नो बुबाको अर्तीलाई हेला गर्छ, तर सुधारबाट सिक्नेचाहिँ विवेकशील हो ।
6 [In] the house of the righteous [is] abundant strength, And in the increase of the wicked — trouble.
धर्मात्माको घरमा ठुलो खजाना हुन्छ, तर दुष्ट मानिसको कमाइले त्यसलाई कष्ट दिन्छ ।
7 The lips of the wise scatter knowledge, And the heart of fools [is] not right.
बुद्धिमान् मानिसहरूको ओठले चारैतिर ज्ञान फैलाउँछ, तर मूर्खहरूको हृदय त्यस्तो हुँदैन ।
8 The sacrifice of the wicked [is] an abomination to Jehovah, And the prayer of the upright [is] His delight.
परमप्रभुले दुष्ट मानिसहरूको बलिदानलाई घृणा गर्नुहुन्छ, तर धर्मी मानिसहरूको प्रार्थना उहाँको आनन्द हो ।
9 An abomination to Jehovah [is] the way of the wicked, And whoso is pursuing righteousness He loveth.
परमप्रभुले दुष्ट मानिसहरूको मार्गलाई घृणा गर्नुहुन्छ, तर ठिक कुराको पछि लाग्नेलाई उहाँले प्रेम गर्नुहुन्छ ।
10 Chastisement [is] grievous to him who is forsaking the path, Whoso is hating reproof dieth.
कठोर अनुशासनले आफ्नो बाटो त्याग्नेको प्रतीक्षा गर्छ, र सुधारलाई घृणा गर्नेचाहिँ मर्ने छ ।
11 Sheol and destruction [are] before Jehovah, Surely also the hearts of the sons of men. (Sheol h7585)
पाताल र विनाश परमप्रभुको सामु खुला छन् भने मानिसको हृदय झन् कति खुला होला? (Sheol h7585)
12 A scorner loveth not his reprover, Unto the wise he goeth not.
गिल्ला गर्ने सुधारदेखि अप्रसन्न हुन्छ । त्यो बुद्धिमान्कहाँ जाँदैन ।
13 A joyful heart maketh glad the face, And by grief of heart is the spirit smitten.
आनन्दित हृदयले मुहारलाई हँसिलो बनाउँछ, तर हृदयको पिरले आत्मालाई चोट पुर्याउँछ ।
14 The heart of the intelligent seeketh knowledge, And the mouth of fools enjoyeth folly.
विवेशकशीलहरूको हृदयले ज्ञानको खोजी गर्छ, तर मूर्खहरूको मुखले मूर्खता नै रुचाउँछ ।
15 All the days of the afflicted [are] evil, And gladness of heart [is] a perpetual banquet.
थिचोमिचोमा परेकाहरूका सबै दिन दुःखद हुन्छन्, तर आनन्दित हृदयको सुखको अन्त्य हुँदैन ।
16 Better [is] a little with the fear of Jehovah, Than much treasure, and tumult with it.
भ्रमको साथ धेरै धन-सम्पत्ति हुनुभन्दा बरु परमप्रभुको भयको साथ थोरै हुनु उत्तम हो ।
17 Better [is] an allowance of green herbs and love there, Than a fatted ox, and hatred with it.
घृणा भएको ठाउँमा पुष्टाइएको बाछो खानुभन्दा बरु प्रेम भएको ठाउँमा सागसब्जी खानु उत्तम हो ।
18 A man of fury stirreth up contention, And the slow to anger appeaseth strife.
रिसाएको मानिसले तर्क-वितर्क गर्छ, तर रिसाउनमा धिमा व्यक्तिले झगडालाई शान्त पार्छ ।
19 The way of the slothful [is] as a hedge of briers, And the path of the upright is raised up.
अल्छेको बाटो काँढाको छेकबार भएको ठाउँझैँ हुन्छ, तर धर्मीको बाटो निर्मित लोकमार्ग हो ।
20 A wise son rejoiceth a father. And a foolish man is despising his mother.
बुद्धिमान् छोरोले आफ्नो बुबालाई आनन्द दिन्छ, तर मूर्ख व्यक्तिले आफ्नी आमालाई तुच्छ ठान्छ ।
21 Folly is joy to one lacking heart, And a man of intelligence directeth [his] going.
मूर्खताले बेसमझको मानिसलाई आनन्द दिन्छ, तर समझशक्ति भएको मानिस सिधा बाटोमा हिँड्छ ।
22 Without counsel [is] the making void of purposes, And in a multitude of counsellors it is established.
सरसल्लाह नहुँदा योजनाहरू गलत हुन्छन्, तर धेरै परामर्शदाताहरूद्वारा तिनीहरू सफल हुन्छन् ।
23 Joy [is] to a man in the answer of his mouth, And a word in its season — how good!
उचित जवाफ दिँदा मानिसले आनन्द पाउँछ । ठिक समयमा बोलिएको वचन कति असल हुन्छ!
जीवनको मार्गले विवेकशील मानिसहरूलाई उँभोतिर लैजान्छ । यसले तिनीहरूलाई उँधो पातालतिर जानदेखि फर्काउँछ । (Sheol h7585)
25 The house of the proud Jehovah pulleth down, And He setteth up the border of the widow.
परमप्रभुले अहङ्कारीको घर भत्काइदिनुहुन्छ, तर विधवाको सम्पत्तिको रक्षा गर्नुहुन्छ ।
26 An abomination to Jehovah [are] thoughts of wickedness, And pure [are] sayings of pleasantness.
परमप्रभुले दुष्ट मानिसहरूको विचारलाई घृणा गर्नुहुन्छ, तर दयाका वचनहरू शुद्ध हुन्छन् ।
27 A dishonest gainer is troubling his house, And whoso is hating gifts liveth.
चोरी गर्नेले आफ्नो परिवारमा सङ्कष्ट ल्याउँछ, तर घुसलाई घृणा गर्नेचाहिँ बाँच्ने छ ।
28 The heart of the righteous meditateth to answer, And the mouth of the wicked uttereth evil things.
जवाफ दिनुअगि धर्मात्माको हृदयले मनन गर्छ, तर दुष्ट मानिसको मुखले आफ्नो सबै खराबी ओकल्छ ।
29 Far [is] Jehovah from the wicked, And the prayer of the righteous He heareth.
दुष्ट मानिसहरूबाट परमप्रभु निकै टाढा हुनुहुन्छ, तर उहाँले धर्मी मानिसहरूको प्रार्थना सुन्नुहुन्छ ।
30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart, A good report maketh fat the bone.
आँखाको ज्योतिले हृदयमा आनन्द ल्याउँछ, र शुभ खबर शरीरको लागि स्वास्थ्य हो ।
31 An ear that is hearing the reproof of life Doth lodge among the wise.
कसरी जिउने भनी कसैले तिमीलाई सुधार गर्दा तिमीले ध्यान दियौ भने तिमी बुद्धिमान् मानिसहरूका बिचमा रहने छौ ।
32 Whoso is refusing instruction is despising his soul, And whoso is hearing reproof Is getting understanding.
अनुशासनलाई इन्कार गर्नेले आफैलाई तुच्छ ठान्छ, तर सुधारलाई ध्यान दिनेले समझशक्ति पाउँछ ।
33 The fear of Jehovah [is] the instruction of wisdom, And before honour [is] humility!
परमप्रभुको भयले बुद्धि सिकाउँछ, र आदरअगि विनम्रता आउँछ ।
