Proverbs 10
1 Proverbs of Solomon. A wise son causeth a father to rejoice, And a foolish son [is] an affliction to his mother.
ശലോമോന്റെ സുഭാഷിതങ്ങൾ: ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള മക്കൾ അവരുടെ പിതാവിന് ആനന്ദമേകുന്നു, ബുദ്ധിഹീനരായ മക്കൾ അവരുടെ മാതാവിന് വ്യഥയേകുന്നു.
2 Treasures of wickedness profit not, And righteousness delivereth from death.
അന്യായമായി നേടിയ സമ്പത്ത് നിലനിൽക്കുകയില്ല, എന്നാൽ ധർമിഷ്ഠമായ ജീവിതം മരണത്തിൽനിന്ന് വിടുവിക്കുന്നു.
3 Jehovah causeth not the soul of the righteous to hunger, And the desire of the wicked He thrusteth away.
നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ വിശന്നുവലയാൻ യഹോവ അനുവദിക്കുകയില്ല, ദുഷ്ടരുടെ അതിമോഹത്തെ അവിടന്ന് നിഷ്ഫലമാക്കുന്നു.
4 Poor [is] he who is working — a slothful hand, And the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
അലസകരങ്ങൾ ദാരിദ്ര്യം ക്ഷണിച്ചുവരുത്തും, എന്നാൽ ഉത്സാഹികളുടെ കരങ്ങളോ, സമ്പത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.
5 Whoso is gathering in summer [is] a wise son, Whoso is sleeping in harvest [is] a son causing shame.
വിവേകികളായ മക്കൾ വേനൽക്കാലത്ത് ധാന്യം ശേഖരിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ കൊയ്ത്തുകാലത്ത് ഉറങ്ങുന്നവരോ, അപമാനം വരുത്തുന്ന മക്കളും ആകുന്നു.
6 Blessings [are] for the head of the righteous, And the mouth of the wicked cover doth violence.
അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ ശിരസ്സിൽ കിരീടമണിയിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരുടെ അധരം അതിക്രമം ഒളിപ്പിച്ചുവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
7 The remembrance of the righteous [is] for a blessing, And the name of the wicked doth rot.
നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ നാമം അനുഗ്രഹാശിസ്സുകൾക്ക് ഉപയുക്തമാകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരുടെ നാമം ജീർണിച്ചുപോകും.
8 The wise in heart accepteth commands, And a talkative fool kicketh.
ജ്ഞാനഹൃദയമുള്ളവർ കൽപ്പനകൾ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ വായാടികളായ ഭോഷർ നശിച്ചുപോകും.
9 Whoso is walking in integrity walketh confidently, And whoso is perverting his ways is known.
സത്യസന്ധതയുള്ള മനുഷ്യർ സുരക്ഷിതരായി ജീവിക്കും, കുടിലമാർഗങ്ങളിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നവർ പിടിക്കപ്പെടും.
10 Whoso is winking the eye giveth grief, And a talkative fool kicketh.
ദുഷ്ടലാക്കോടെ കണ്ണിറുക്കുന്നവർ ദോഷംവരുത്തുന്നു വായാടികളായ ഭോഷർ നാശത്തിലേക്കു പതിക്കുന്നു.
11 A fountain of life [is] the mouth of the righteous, And the mouth of the wicked cover doth violence.
നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ അധരം ജീവജലധാരയാണ്, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടരുടെ അധരം അക്രമത്തെ മറച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു.
12 Hatred awaketh contentions, And over all transgressions love covereth.
വിദ്വേഷം ഭിന്നത ഇളക്കിവിടുന്നു, എന്നാൽ സ്നേഹം എല്ലാ അകൃത്യവും മറച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു.
13 In the lips of the intelligent is wisdom found, And a rod [is] for the back of him who is lacking understanding.
വിവേകിയുടെ അധരങ്ങളിൽ ജ്ഞാനം കുടികൊള്ളുന്നു, എന്നാൽ വിവേകഹീനരുടെ മുതുകിൽ ഒരു പ്രഹരമാണു വീഴുന്നത്.
14 The wise lay up knowledge, and the mouth of a fool [is] near ruin.
ബുദ്ധിയുള്ളവർ പരിജ്ഞാനം സംഭരിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ഭോഷരുടെ വായ് നാശം ക്ഷണിച്ചുവരുത്തുന്നു.
15 The wealth of the rich [is] his strong city, The ruin of the poor [is] their poverty.
ധനമുള്ളവരുടെ സമ്പത്ത് അവർക്കു കോട്ടകെട്ടിയ നഗരമാണ്, എന്നാൽ ദാരിദ്ര്യം അഗതികൾക്കു നാശകരവുമാണ്.
16 The wage of the righteous [is] for life, The increase of the wicked for sin.
നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ സമ്പാദ്യം ജീവദായകം, എന്നാൽ നീചരുടെ അധ്വാനഫലം പാപവും മരണവും.
17 A traveller to life [is] he who is keeping instruction, And whoso is forsaking rebuke is erring.
ശിക്ഷണം സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നവർ ജീവന്റെ പാതയിലാണ്, എന്നാൽ ശാസന നിരസിക്കുന്നവർ വഴിതെറ്റിപ്പോകുന്നു.
18 Whoso is covering hatred with lying lips, And whoso is bringing out an evil report is a fool.
വ്യാജ അധരങ്ങൾകൊണ്ട് വിദ്വേഷം മറച്ചുവെക്കുകയും പരദൂഷണം പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവർ ഭോഷരാണ്.
19 In the abundance of words transgression ceaseth not, And whoso is restraining his lips [is] wise.
വാക്കുകളുടെ ബഹുലതകൊണ്ട് പാപം ഇല്ലാതാകുന്നില്ല, എന്നാൽ വിവേകി തന്റെ നാവിനെ അടക്കിനിർത്തുന്നു.
20 The tongue of the righteous [is] chosen silver, The heart of the wicked — as a little thing.
നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ അധരങ്ങൾ മേൽത്തരമായ വെള്ളി, ദുഷ്ടരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിന് തീരെ മൂല്യമില്ലാതാനും.
21 The lips of the righteous delight many, And fools for lack of heart die.
നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ അധരങ്ങൾ അനേകരെ പരിപോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ബുദ്ധിശൂന്യതകൊണ്ട് ഭോഷർ മരിക്കുന്നു.
22 The blessing of Jehovah — it maketh rich, And He addeth no grief with it.
യഹോവയുടെ അനുഗ്രഹം സമ്പത്ത് പ്രദാനംചെയ്യുന്നു, അവിടന്ന് അതിനോട് കഷ്ടതയൊന്നും കൂട്ടിച്ചേർക്കുന്നില്ല.
23 To execute inventions [is] as play to a fool, And wisdom to a man of understanding.
ദോഷം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നത് ഭോഷർക്ക് ഒരു വിനോദം, എന്നാൽ ഒരു വിവേകി ജ്ഞാനത്തിൽ ആഹ്ലാദിക്കുന്നു.
24 The feared thing of the wicked it meeteth him, And the desire of the righteous is given.
ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവർ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതുതന്നെ അവർക്കു ഭവിക്കും; നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ അഭിലാഷങ്ങൾ സഫലമാക്കപ്പെടും.
25 As the passing by of a hurricane, So the wicked is not, And the righteous is a foundation age-during.
വീശിയടിക്കുന്ന കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ് ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരെ ചുഴറ്റിയെറിയും, എന്നാൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ എല്ലാ കാലത്തേക്കും ഉറച്ചുനിൽക്കും.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, And as smoke to the eyes, So [is] the slothful to those sending him.
തങ്ങളെ നിയോഗിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അലസർ പല്ലിനു വിന്നാഗിരിയും കണ്ണിനു പുകയും എന്നപോലെയാണ്.
27 The fear of Jehovah addeth days, And the years of the wicked are shortened.
യഹോവാഭക്തി ആയുസ്സിനെ ദീർഘമാക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടരുടെ സംവത്സരങ്ങൾ ഹ്രസ്വമാക്കപ്പെടും.
28 The hope of the righteous [is] joyful, And the expectation of the wicked perisheth.
നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ പ്രത്യാശ ആനന്ദമേകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരുടെ പ്രതീക്ഷയോ, നിഷ്ഫലം.
29 The way of Jehovah [is] strength to the perfect, And ruin to workers of iniquity.
യഹോവയുടെ മാർഗം നീതിനിഷ്ഠർക്കൊരു സങ്കേതം, എന്നാൽ ദോഷം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അത് നാശകരം.
30 The righteous to the age is not moved, And the wicked inhabit not the earth.
നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ ഒരിക്കലും ഉന്മൂലമാക്കപ്പെടുകയില്ല, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവർ ദേശത്ത് സുസ്ഥിരമായി ജീവിക്കുകയില്ല.
31 The mouth of the righteous uttereth wisdom, And the tongue of frowardness is cut out.
നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ നാവിൽനിന്നു ജ്ഞാനം പ്രവഹിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ വഞ്ചനയുള്ള നാവ് ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും.
32 The lips of the righteous know a pleasing thing, And the mouth of the wicked perverseness!
നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ അധരം പ്രസാദകരമായവ തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടരുടെ നാവ് വൈകൃതഭാഷണത്തിന് ഉറവിടം.
