Obadiah 1
1 Thus said the Lord Jehovah to Edom, A report we have heard from Jehovah, And an ambassador among nations was sent, 'Rise, yea, let us rise against her for battle.'
ഓബദ്യാവിനുണ്ടായ ദർശനം. യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ഏദോമിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു— യഹോവയിൽനിന്ന് നാം ഒരു സന്ദേശം കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു: “എഴുന്നേൽക്കുക, അവളുടെനേരേ യുദ്ധത്തിനായി നാം പുറപ്പെടുക,” എന്ന് അറിയിക്കുന്നതിന്, ഒരു സ്ഥാനപതിയെ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളിലേക്ക് അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
2 Lo, little I have made thee among nations, Despised [art] thou exceedingly.
“നോക്കുക, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ ചെറുതാക്കും; നീ ഏറ്റവും നിന്ദിക്കപ്പെടും.
3 The pride of thy heart hath lifted thee up, O dweller in clifts of a rock, (A high place [is] his habitation, He is saying in his heart, 'Who doth bring me down [to] earth?')
നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ അഹങ്കാരം നിന്നെ ചതിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, പാറപ്പിളർപ്പുകളിൽ വസിക്കുകയും ഉന്നതങ്ങളിൽ വീടുവെച്ചിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന നീ, ‘എന്നെ ആർ നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിടും?’ എന്നു നീ നിന്നോടുതന്നെ പറയുന്നു.
4 If thou dost go up high as an eagle, And if between stars thou dost set thy nest, From thence I bring thee down, An affirmation of Jehovah.
നീ കഴുകനെപ്പോലെ ഉയർന്നു പറന്നാലും നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്റെ കൂടുണ്ടാക്കിയാലും അവിടെനിന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഇറക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുവരും,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
5 If thieves have come in to thee, If spoilers of the night, How hast thou been cut off! Do they not steal their sufficiency? If gatherers have come in to thee, Do they not leave gleanings?
“കള്ളന്മാർ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നാലോ രാത്രിയിൽ കൊള്ളക്കാർ വന്നാലോ ഓ, എത്ര ഭയങ്കരമായവ നിന്നെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു! തങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടതല്ലേ അവർ മോഷ്ടിക്കൂ? മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം പറിക്കുന്നവർ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നാൽ കാലാപെറുക്കാനുള്ള പഴമെങ്കിലും അവർ ശേഷിപ്പിക്കുകയില്ലേ?
6 How hath Esau been searched out! Flowed out have his hidden things,
എന്നാൽ ഏശാവ് എങ്ങനെ കവർച്ചചെയ്യപ്പെടും അവന്റെ ഗുപ്തമാക്കപ്പെട്ട നിക്ഷേപങ്ങൾ എങ്ങനെ കൊള്ളയടിക്കപ്പെടും!
7 Unto the border sent thee have all thine allies, Forgotten thee, prevailed over thee, have thy friends, Thy bread they make a snare under thee, There is no understanding in him!
നിന്നോടു സഖ്യമുള്ളവർ നിന്നെ അതിർത്തിയിലേക്കു പായിക്കും; നിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതർ നിന്നെ ചതിച്ചു കീഴടക്കും; നിന്റെ ആഹാരം ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർ നിനക്കു കെണിവെക്കും, എന്നാൽ നീ അതു മനസ്സിലാക്കുകയില്ല.”
8 Is it not in that day — an affirmation of Jehovah, That I have destroyed the wise out of Edom, And understanding out of the mount of Esau?
യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “അന്നാളിൽ ഞാൻ ഏദോമിൽനിന്ന് ജ്ഞാനികളെയും ഏശാവിന്റെ പർവതത്തിൽനിന്ന് വിവേകികളെയും നശിപ്പിക്കുകയില്ലേ?
9 And broken down have been thy mighty ones, O Teman, So that every one of the mount of Esau is cut off.
തേമാനേ, നിന്റെ വീരന്മാർ പരിഭ്രാന്തരായിത്തീരുകയും ഏശാവിന്റെ പർവതങ്ങളിലുള്ള ഏവരും വെട്ടേറ്റു നശിച്ചുപോകുകയും ചെയ്യും.
10 For slaughter, for violence [to] thy brother Jacob, Cover thee doth shame, And thou hast been cut off — to the age.
നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യാക്കോബിനോടു നീ ചെയ്ത അക്രമംനിമിത്തം, ലജ്ജ നിന്നെ മൂടും; നീ എന്നേക്കുമായി നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടും.
11 In the day of thy standing over-against, In the day of strangers taking captive his force, And foreigners have entered his gates, And for Jerusalem have cast a lot, Even thou [art] as one of them!
അപരിചിതർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സമ്പത്ത് അപഹരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകുകയും വിദേശികൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കവാടങ്ങളിൽക്കൂടി കടന്ന് ജെറുശലേമിനു നറുക്കിടുകയും ചെയ്ത ദിവസം നീ അകന്നുനിന്നു, നീയും അവരിൽ ഒരാളെപ്പോലെ ആയിരുന്നു.
12 And — thou dost not look on the day of thy brother, On the day of his alienation, Nor dost thou rejoice over sons of Judah, In the day of their destruction, Nor make great thy mouth in a day of distress.
നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ ദൗർഭാഗ്യദിനത്തിൽ നീ അവന്റെ നാശം കണ്ട് ആഹ്ലാദിക്കരുതായിരുന്നു, യെഹൂദാജനത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് അവരുടെ വിനാശദിനത്തിൽ നീ ആനന്ദിക്കരുതായിരുന്നു, അവരുടെ കഷ്ടദിവസത്തിൽ നീ വമ്പു പറയരുതായിരുന്നു.
13 Nor come into a gate of My people in a day of their calamity, Nor look, even thou, on its misfortune in a day of its calamity, Nor send forth against its force in a day of its calamity,
എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ അനർഥദിവസത്തിൽ അവരുടെ കവാടങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളിൽ നീ കടക്കരുതായിരുന്നു; അനർഥദിവസത്തിൽ അവരുടെ അത്യാപത്തിൽ നീ ആഹ്ലാദിക്കരുതായിരുന്നു, അവരുടെ അനർഥദിവസത്തിൽ നീ അവരുടെ സമ്പത്ത് കൊള്ളയടിക്കരുതായിരുന്നു.
14 Nor stand by the breach to cut off its escaped, Nor deliver up its remnant in a day of distress.
അവരിലെ പലായിതരെ വെട്ടിമുറിക്കാൻ വഴിത്തലയ്ക്കൽ നീ കാത്തുനിൽക്കരുതായിരുന്നു, ദുരിതദിനത്തിൽ അവരിൽ ശേഷിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നവരെ നീ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കരുതായിരുന്നു.
15 For near [is] the day of Jehovah, on all the nations, As thou hast done, it is done to thee, Thy deed doth turn back on thine own head.
“സകലജനതകൾക്കും യഹോവയുടെ നാൾ അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു. നീ ചെയ്തതുതന്നെ നിന്നോടും ചെയ്യും; നിന്റെ ചെയ്തികൾ നിന്റെ തലമേൽത്തന്നെ മടങ്ങിവരും.
16 For — as ye have drunk on My holy mount, Drink do all the nations continually, And they have drunk and have swallowed, And they have been as they have not been.
നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധപർവതത്തിൽവെച്ചു കുടിച്ചതുപോലെതന്നെ സകലജനതകളും നിരന്തരം കുടിക്കും; അവർ കുടിക്കും, പിന്നെയും കുടിക്കും; അങ്ങനെ അവർ, തങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതേയില്ല എന്നപോലെ ആയിത്തീരും.
17 And in mount Zion there is an escape, And it hath been holy, And the house of Jacob have possessed their possessions.
എന്നാൽ സീയോൻപർവതത്തിൽ ഒരു രക്ഷിതഗണം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും; അതു വിശുദ്ധമായിരിക്കും, യാക്കോബിൻഗൃഹം തങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശങ്ങളെ കൈവശമാക്കും.
18 And the house of Jacob hath been a fire, And the house of Joseph a flame, And the house of Esau for stubble, And they have burned among them, And they have consumed them, And there is not a remnant to the house of Esau, For Jehovah hath spoken.
യാക്കോബുഗൃഹം തീയും യോസേഫുഗൃഹം ജ്വാലയും ആയിരിക്കും ഏശാവുഗൃഹം വൈക്കോൽക്കുറ്റി ആയിരിക്കും, അവർ അതിനെ കത്തിച്ചു ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും. ഏശാവുഗൃഹത്തിൽ ഒരുവനും ശേഷിക്കുകയില്ല.” യഹോവയാണ് ഇത് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്.
19 And they have possessed the south with the mount of Esau, And the low country with the Philistines, And they have possessed the field of Ephraim, And the field of Samaria, And Benjamin with Gilead.
തെക്കേദേശക്കാർ ഏശാവിന്റെ പർവതങ്ങളിൽ താമസിക്കും കുന്നിൻപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലുള്ളവർ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെദേശവും കൈവശമാക്കും. അവർ എഫ്രയീമിന്റെയും ശമര്യരുടെയും ദേശങ്ങൾ കൈവശപ്പെടുത്തും ബെന്യാമീനോ, ഗിലെയാദിനെ അവകാശമാക്കും.
20 And the removed of this force of the sons of Israel, That [is with] the Canaanites unto Zarephat, And the removed of Jerusalem that [is] with the Sepharad, Possess the cities of the south.
കനാനിലുള്ള ഇസ്രായേൽ പ്രവാസികളുടെ ഈ സമൂഹം സാരെഫാത്തുവരെയുള്ള ഈ ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കും; ജെറുശലേമിൽനിന്നുള്ള പ്രവാസികളിൽ സെഫാരദിലുള്ളവർ തെക്കേദേശത്തിലെ നഗരങ്ങൾ കൈവശമാക്കും.
21 And gone up have saviours on mount Zion, To judge the mount of Esau, And the kingdom hath been to Jehovah!'
വിമോചിതരായവർ ഏശാവിന്റെ പർവതങ്ങളെ ഭരിക്കുന്നതിന് സീയോൻ പർവതത്തിലേക്ക് കയറിച്ചെല്ലും. രാജ്യം യഹോവയ്ക്കാകും.
