Numbers 4
1 And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, and unto Aaron, saying,
Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen et Aaron, dicens:
2 'Take up the sum of the sons of Kohath from the midst of the sons of Levi, by their families, by the house of their fathers;
Tolle summam filiorum Caath de medio Levitarum per domos et familias suas,
3 from a son of thirty years and upward, even till a son of fifty years, every one going in to the host, to do work in the tent of meeting.
a trigesimo anno et supra, usque ad quinquagesimum annum, omnium qui ingrediuntur ut stent et ministrent in tabernaculo foederis.
4 'This [is] the service of the sons of Kohath in the tent of meeting, the holy of holies:
Hic est cultus filiorum Caath: Tabernaculum foederis, et Sanctum sanctorum
5 that Aaron and his sons have come in, in the journeying of the camp, and have taken down the vail of the hanging, and have covered with it the ark of the testimony;
ingredientur Aaron et filii eius, quando movenda sunt castra, et deponent velum quod pendet ante fores, involventque eo arcam testimonii,
6 and have put on it a covering of badger skin, and have spread a garment completely of blue above, and have placed its staves.
et operient rursum velamen ianthinarum pellium, extendentque desuper pallium totum hyacinthinum, et inducent vectes.
7 'And on the table of the presence they spread a garment of blue, and have put on it the dishes, and the spoons, and the bowls, and the cups of the libation, and the bread of continuity is on it,
Mensam quoque propositionis involvent hyacinthino pallio, et ponent cum ea thuribula et mortariola, cyathos et crateras ad liba fundenda: panes semper in ea erunt:
8 and they have spread over them a garment of scarlet, and have covered it with a covering of badger skin, and have placed its staves,
extendentque desuper pallium coccineum, quod rursum operient velamento ianthinarum pellium, et inducent vectes.
9 and have taken a garment of blue, and have covered the candlestick of the lamp, and its lights, and its snuffers, and its snuff-dishes, and all its oil vessels wherewith they minister to it;
Sument et pallium hyacinthinum quo operient candelabrum cum lucernis et forcipibus suis et emunctoriis et cunctis vasis olei, quae ad concinnandas lucernas necessaria sunt:
10 and they have put it and all its vessels unto a covering of badger skin, and have put [it] on the bar.
et super omnia ponent operimentum ianthinarum pellium, et inducent vectes.
11 'And on the golden altar they spread a garment of blue, and have covered it with a covering of badger skin, and have placed its staves;
Nec non et altare aureum involvent hyacinthino vestimento, et extendent desuper operimentum ianthinarum pellium, inducentque vectes.
12 and have taken all the vessels of ministry wherewith they minister in the sanctuary, and have put [them] unto a garment of blue, and have covered them with a covering of badger skin, and have put [them] on the bar,
Omnia vasa, quibus ministratur in Sanctuario, involvent hyacinthino pallio, et extendent desuper operimentum ianthinarum pellium, inducentque vectes.
13 and have removed the ashes of the altar, and have spread over it a garment of purple;
Sed et altare mundabunt cinere, et involvent illud purpureo vestimento,
14 and have put on it all its vessels wherewith they minister about it, the censers, the hooks, and the shovels, and the bowls, all the vessels of the altar, and have spread on it a covering of badger skin, and have placed its staves:
ponentque cum eo omnia vasa, quibus in ministerio eius utuntur, id est, ignium receptacula, fuscinulas ac tridentes, uncinos et batilla. Cuncta vasa altaris operient simul velamine ianthinarum pellium, et inducent vectes.
15 'And Aaron hath finished — his sons also — covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, in the journeying of the camp, and afterwards do the sons of Kohath come in to bear [it], and they do not come unto the holy thing, that they have died; these [things are] the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tent of meeting.
Cumque involverint Aaron et filii eius Sanctuarium et omnia vasa eius in commotione castrorum, tunc intrabunt filii Caath ut portent involuta: et non tangent vasa Sanctuarii, ne moriantur. Ista sunt onera filiorum Caath in tabernaculo foederis:
16 'And the oversight of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, [is] the oil of the lamp, and the spice-perfume, and the present of continuity, and the anointing oil, the oversight of all the tabernacle, and of all that [is] in it, in the sanctuary, and in its vessels.'
super quos erit Eleazar filius Aaron sacerdotis, ad cuius curam pertinet oleum ad concinnandas lucernas, et compositionis incensum, et sacrificium, quod semper offertur, et oleum unctionis, et quidquid ad cultum tabernaculi pertinet, omniumque vasorum, quae in Sanctuario sunt.
17 And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, et Aaron, dicens:
18 'Ye do not cut off the tribe of the families of the Kohathite from the midst of the Levites;
Nolite perdere populum Caath de medio Levitarum:
19 but this do to them, and they have lived, and do not die in their drawing nigh the holy of holies: — Aaron and his sons go in, and have set them, each man to his service, and unto his burden,
sed hoc facite eis, ut vivant, et non moriantur, si tetigerint Sancta sanctorum. Aaron et filii eius intrabunt, ipsique disponent opera singulorum, et divident quid portare quis debeat.
20 and they go not in to see when the holy thing is swallowed, that they have died.'
Alii nulla curiositate videant quae sunt in Sanctuario priusquam involvantur, alioquin morientur.
21 And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens:
22 'Take up the sum of the sons of Gershon also by the house of their fathers, by their families;
Tolle summam etiam filiorum Gerson per domos ac familias et cognationes suas,
23 from a son of thirty years and upward, till a son of fifty years thou dost number them, every one who is going in to serve the host, to do the service in the tent of meeting.
a triginta annis et supra, usque ad annos quinquaginta. Numera omnes qui ingrediuntur et ministrant in tabernaculo foederis.
24 'This [is] the service of the families of the Gershonite, to serve — and for burden,
Hoc est officium familiae Gersonitarum,
25 and they have borne the curtains of the tabernacle, and the tent of meeting, its covering, and the covering of the badger [skin] which [is] on it above, and the vail at the opening of the tent of meeting,
ut portent cortinas tabernaculi et tectum foederis operimentum aliud, et super omnia velamen ianthinum tentoriumque quod pendet in introitu tabernaculi foederis,
26 and the hangings of the court, and the vail at the opening of the gate of the court which [is] by the tabernacle, and by the altar round about, and their cords, and all the vessels of their service, and all that is made for them — and they have served.
cortinas atrii, et velum in introitu quod est ante tabernaculum. Omnia quae ad altare pertinent funiculos, et vasa ministerii,
27 'By the command of Aaron and his sons is all the service of the sons of the Gershonite in all their burden, and in all their service; and ye have laid a charge on them concerning the charge of all their burden.
iubente Aaron et filiis eius, portabunt filii Gerson: et scient singuli cui debeant oneri mancipari.
28 This [is] the service of the families of the sons of the Gershonite in the tent of meeting; and their charge [is] under the hand of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.
Hic est cultus familiae Gersonitarum in tabernaculo foederis, eruntque sub manu Ithamar filii Aaron sacerdotis.
29 'The sons of Merari, by their families, by the house of their fathers, thou dost number them;
Filios quoque Merari per familias et domos patrum suorum recensebis
30 from a son of thirty years and upward even unto a son of fifty years thou dost number them, every one who is going in to the host, to do the service of the tent of meeting.
a triginta annis et supra, usque ad annos quinquaginta, omnes qui ingrediuntur ad officium ministerii sui et cultum foederis testimonii.
31 'And this [is] the charge of their burden, of all their service in the tent of meeting; the boards of the tabernacle, and its bars, and its pillars, and its sockets,
Haec sunt onera eorum: Portabunt tabulas tabernaculi et vectes eius, columnas ac bases earum,
32 and the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords, of all their vessels, and of all their service; and by name ye do number the vessels of the charge of their burden.
columnas quoque atrii per circuitum cum basibus et paxillis et funibus suis. Omnia vasa et supellectilem ad numerum accipient, sicque portabunt.
33 'This [is] the service of the families of the sons of Merari, for all their service, in the tent of meeting, by the hand of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.'
Hoc est officium familiae Meraritarum et ministerium in tabernaculo foederis: eruntque sub manu Ithamar filii Aaron sacerdotis.
34 And Moses numbereth — Aaron also, and the princes of the company — the sons of the Kohathite, by their families, and by the house of their fathers,
Recensuerunt igitur Moyses et Aaron et principes synagogae filios Caath per cognationes et domos patrum suorum
35 from a son of thirty years and upward even unto a son of fifty years, every one who is going in to the host, for service in the tent of meeting,
a triginta annis et supra, usque ad annum quinquagesimum, omnes qui ingrediuntur ad ministerium tabernaculi foederis:
36 and their numbered ones, by their families, are two thousand seven hundred and fifty.
et inventi sunt duo millia septingenti quinquaginta.
37 These [are] those numbered of the families of the Kohathite, every one who is serving in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, by the command of Jehovah, by the hand of Moses.
Hic est numerus populi Caath qui intrant tabernaculum foederis: hos numeravit Moyses et Aaron iuxta sermonem Domini per manum Moysi.
38 And those numbered of the sons of Gershon, by their families, and by the house of their fathers,
Numerati sunt et filii Gerson per cognationes et domos patrum suorum,
39 from a son of thirty years and upward even unto a son of fifty years, every one who is going in to the host, for service in the tent of meeting,
a triginta annos et supra, usque ad quinquagesimum annum, omnes qui ingrediuntur ut ministrent in tabernaculo foederis:
40 even their numbered ones, by their families, by the house of their fathers, are two thousand and six hundred and thirty.
et inventi sunt duo millia sexcenti triginta.
41 These [are] those numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, every one who is serving in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered by the command of Jehovah.
Hic est populus Gersonitarum, quos numeraverunt Moyses et Aaron iuxta verbum Domini.
42 And those numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, by their families, by the house of their fathers,
Numerati sunt et filii Merari per cognationes et domos patrum suorum
43 from a son of thirty years and upward even unto a son of fifty years, every one who is going in to the host, for service in the tent of meeting,
a triginta annis et supra, usque ad annum quinquagesimum, omnes qui ingrediuntur ad explendos ritus tabernaculi foederis:
44 even their numbered ones, by their families, are three thousand and two hundred.
et inventi sunt tria millia ducenti.
45 These [are] those numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, by the command of Jehovah, by the hand of Moses.
hic est numerus filiorum Merari, quos recensuerunt Moyses et Aaron iuxta imperium Domini per manum Moysi.
46 All those numbered, whom Moses numbered — Aaron also, and the princes of Israel — of the Levites, by their families, and by the house of their fathers,
Omnes qui recensiti sunt de Levitis, et quos fecit ad nomen Moyses et Aaron, et principes Israel per cognationes et domos patrum suorum
47 from a son of thirty years and upward even unto a son of fifty years, every one who is going in to do the work of the service, even the service of burden in the tent of meeting,
a triginta annis et supra, usque ad annum quinquagesimum, ingredientes ad ministerium tabernaculi, et onera portanda,
48 even their numbered ones are eight thousand and five hundred and eighty;
fuerunt simul octo millia quingenti octoginta.
49 by the command of Jehovah hath [one] numbered them, by the hand of Moses, each man by his service, and by his burden, with his numbered ones, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.
Iuxta verbum Domini recensuit eos Moyses, unumquemque iuxta officium et onera sua, sicut praeceperat ei Dominus.
