Numbers 23
1 And Balaam saith unto Balak, 'Build for me in this [place] seven altars, and make ready for me in this [place] seven bullocks and seven rams.'
१बलाम बालाकाला म्हणाला, इथे सात वेद्या बांधा आणि माझ्यासाठी सात बैल आणि सात मेंढे तयार ठेवा.
2 And Balak doth as Balaam hath spoken, and Balak — Balaam also — offereth a bullock and a ram on the altar,
२बलामाने सांगितले तसे बालाकाने एक मेंढा व एक बैल प्रत्येक वेदीवर मारला.
3 and Balaam saith to Balak, 'Station thyself by thy burnt-offering and I go on, it may be Jehovah doth come to meet me, and the thing which He sheweth me — I have declared to thee;' and he goeth [to] a high place.
३नंतर बलाम बालाकाला म्हणाला, तू या होमबली जवळ थांब. मी दुसरीकडे जातो. नंतर परमेश्वर माझ्याकडे येईल आणि मी काय बोलायचे ते मला सांगेल. नंतर बलाम उंच जागी गेला.
4 And God cometh unto Balaam, and he saith unto Him, 'The seven altars I have arranged, and I offer a bullock and a ram on the altar;'
४देव त्या जागी बलामाकडे आला आणि बलाम म्हणाला, मी सात वेद्या तयार केल्या आहेत. आणि प्रत्येक वेदीवर मी एकेक मेंढा व बैल बली दिला आहे.
5 and Jehovah putteth a word in the mouth of Balaam, and saith, 'Turn back unto Balak, and thus thou dost speak.'
५नंतर परमेश्वराने काय बोलायचे ते बलामास सांगितले. परमेश्वर म्हणाला, बालाकाकडे परत जा आणि मी सांगतो तेच त्यास जाऊन सांग.
6 And he turneth back unto him, and lo, he is standing by his burnt-offering, he and all the princes of Moab.
६तेव्हा बलाम बालाकाकडे परत आला आणि तो आपल्या होमार्पणाजवळ उभा होता आणि मवाबाचे सर्व पुढारी त्याच्याबरोबर होते.
7 And he taketh up his simile, and saith: 'From Aram he doth lead me — Balak king of Moab; From mountains of the east: Come — curse for me Jacob, And come — be indignant [with] Israel.
७नंतर बलामाने आपला संदेश सांगण्यास सुरवात केली आणि म्हणाला, पूर्वेकडील अराम पर्वतावरुन मवाबाचा राजा बालाक याने मला येथे आणले. तो म्हणाला, ये, माझ्यासाठी याकोबाला शाप दे, ये, इस्राएलींना विरोध कर.
8 What — do I pierce? — God hath not pierced! And what — am I indignant? — Jehovah hath not been indignant!
८ज्याला देवाने शाप दिला नाही त्यास मी कसा शाप देऊ? ज्याला परमेश्वराने धमकी दिली नाही त्यास मी कशी धमकी देऊ?
9 For from the top of rocks I see it, And from heights I behold it; Lo a people! alone it doth tabernacle, And among nations doth not reckon itself.
९मी त्या लोकांस पर्वतावरुन बघू शकतो; मी त्यांना उंच डोंगरावरुन बघतो. पहा, तेथे लोक एकटेच राहत आहे आणि ते स्वतःला सर्वसाधारण राष्ट्रामध्ये गणित नाहीत.
10 Who hath counted the dust of Jacob, And the number of the fourth of Israel? Let me die the death of upright ones, And let my last end be like his!'
१०इस्राएलाचा केवळ चौथा हिस्सा कोण मोजेल किंवा याकोबाच्या धुळीचे कण कोण मोजू शकेल? मला नीतिमान मनुष्याप्रमाणे मरण येऊ दे, आणि त्यांच्याप्रमाणेच माझ्या जीवनाचा शेवट होऊ दे!
11 And Balak saith unto Balaam, 'What hast thou done to me? to pierce mine enemies I have taken thee — and lo, thou hast certainly blessed;'
११बालाक बलामास म्हणाला, तू हे काय केलेस? माझ्या शत्रूंना शाप देण्यासाठी मी तुला येथे आणले. पण पहा, तू तर त्यांना आशीर्वाद दिलास.
12 and he answereth and saith, 'That which Jehovah doth put in my mouth — it do I not take heed to speak?'
१२बलामाने उत्तर दिले व म्हणाला, परमेश्वराने माझ्या मुखात जे घातले, केवळ तेच मी बोलण्याची काळजी घेऊ नये काय?
13 And Balak saith unto him, 'Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, whence thou dost see it, only its extremity thou dost see, and all of it thou dost not see, and pierce it for me thence;'
१३नंतर बालाक त्यास म्हणाला, म्हणून माझ्याबरोबर दुसऱ्या जागी ये. तिथून तुला ह्यातील आणखी बरेच लोक दिसू शकतील. तू त्या सगळ्यांना बघू शकणार नाहीस. पण त्यांचा काही भाग तुला दिसू शकेल. कदाचित त्या जागेवरुन तू त्यांना माझ्यासाठी शाप दे.
14 and he taketh him [to] the field of Zophim, unto the top of Pisgah, and buildeth seven altars, and offereth a bullock and a ram on the altar.
१४तेव्हा बालाक बलामास पिसगाच्या माथ्यावरील सोफीमाच्या माळ्यावर घेऊन गेला. तेथे बालाकाने सात वेद्या बांधल्या. नंतर बालाकाने प्रत्येक वेदीवर एक बैल आणि एक मेंढा बली दिला.
15 And he saith unto Balak, 'Station thyself here by thy burnt-offering, and I — I meet [Him] there;'
१५तेव्हा बलाम बालाकाला म्हणाला, तू येथे आपल्या होमबलीजवळ या वेदीजवळ थांब. मी तिकडे जाऊन देवाला भेटून येतो.
16 and Jehovah cometh unto Balaam, and setteth a word in his mouth, and saith, 'Turn back unto Balak, and thus thou dost speak.'
१६परमेश्वर बलामाकडे आला आणि काय बोलायचे ते त्याने त्यास सांगितले. नंतर परमेश्वराने बलामास बालाकाकडे जायला सांगितले. आणि त्याने सांगितलेलेच बोलायला सांगितले.
17 And he cometh unto him, and lo, he is standing by his burnt-offering, and the princes of Moab with him, and Balak saith to him: 'What hath Jehovah spoken?'
१७म्हणून बलाम बलाकाकडे परत गेला. बालाक वेदीजवळच उभा होता. मवाबाचे पुढारी होमबलीपाशी उभे होते. बालाकाने बलामास येताना पाहिले. आणि तो म्हणाला, परमेश्वराने काय सांगितले?
18 And he taketh up his simile, and saith: 'Rise, Balak, and hear; Give ear unto me, son of Zippor!
१८बलामाने त्याच्या संदेशास सुरवात केली. तो म्हणाला, बालाका, उठ आणि ऐक. तू सिप्पोरेच्या मुला, माझे ऐक,
19 God [is] not a man — and lieth, And a son of man — and repenteth! Hath He said — and doth He not do [it]? And spoken — and doth He not confirm it?
१९देव मनुष्य नाही, की त्याने खोटे बोलावे, किंवा तो काही मनुष्यप्राणी नाही की, त्याने मन बदलावे. जर त्याने काही वचन दिले तर तो ते केल्याशिवाय राहील काय? तो बोलला आहे मी हे करील तर ते तो पुरे केल्याशिवाय राहील काय?
20 Lo, to bless I have received: Yea, He blesseth, and I [can] not reverse it.
२०पहा, मी आशीर्वाद द्यायला आज्ञा केली, देवाने आशीर्वाद दिला आणि मी तो उलटा फिरवू शकत नाही.
21 He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, Nor hath He seen perverseness in Israel; Jehovah his God [is] with him, And a shout of a king [is] in him.
२१त्यास याकोबात काही कष्ट किंवा इस्राएलात त्रास दिसला नाही. त्यांचा परमेश्वर देव त्यांच्याबरोबर आहे, राजाचा जयघोष त्यांच्यात आहे.
22 God is bringing them out from Egypt, As the swiftness of a Reem is to him;
२२देवाने त्यांना मिसर देशातून बाहेर आणले. ते रानबैला इतके शक्तीमान आहेत.
23 For no enchantment [is] against Jacob, Nor divination against Israel, At the time it is said of Jacob and Israel, What hath God wrought!
२३याकोबाच्याविरूद्ध मंत्रतंत्र चालणार नाही आणि इस्राएलींना दैवप्रश्र सांगणारे हानी पोचवू शकत नाही, याकोबाविषयी व इस्राएलाविषयी म्हणतील की पहा, देवाने केवढे महान कार्य केले!
24 Lo, the people as a lioness riseth, And as a lion he lifteth himself up, He lieth not down till he eateth prey, And blood of pierced ones doth drink.'
२४पहा, लोक सिंहिणीसारखे उठत आहेत, सिंहासारखा बाहेर येतो आणि हल्ला करतो. तो त्याची शिकार खाऊन आणि वधलेल्यांचे रक्त प्यायल्याखेरीज तो खाली बसणार नाही.
25 And Balak saith unto Balaam, 'Neither pierce it at all, nor bless it at all;'
२५नंतर बालाक बलामास म्हणाला, तू त्यांना शापहि देऊ नको आणि आशीर्वादहि देऊ नको.
26 and Balaam answereth and saith unto Balak, 'Have I not spoken unto thee, saying, All that Jehovah speaketh — it I do?'
२६बलामाने बालाकाला उत्तर दिले, मी तुला आधीच सांगितले होते की परमेश्वर जे सांगेल तेच मला बोलता येईल.
27 And Balak saith unto Balaam, 'Come, I pray thee, I take thee unto another place; it may be it is right in the eyes of God — to pierce it for me from thence.'
२७नंतर बालाक बलामास म्हणाला, तेव्हा माझ्याबरोबर दुसऱ्या ठिकाणी ये. कदाचित देव आनंदी होईल आणि तुला त्या लोकांस शाप द्यायची परवानगी देईल.
28 And Balak taketh Balaam to the top of Peor, which is looking on the front of the wilderness,
२८म्हणून बालाक बलामास घेऊन पौर पर्वताच्या माथ्यावर गेला. या पर्वतावरुन वाळवंट दिसते.
29 and Balaam saith unto Balak, 'Build for me in this [place] seven altars, and make ready for me in this [place] seven bullocks and seven rams;'
२९बलाम बालाकाला म्हणाला, “इथे सात वेद्या बांध. नंतर सात बैल आणि सात मेंढे बली देण्यासाठी तयार कर.”
30 and Balak doth as Balaam said, and he offereth a bullock and a ram on an altar.
३०बलामाने सांगितल्याप्रमाणे बालाकाने साऱ्या गोष्टी केल्या. बालाकाने वेदीवर बैल आणि मेंढे बली दिले.
