Nehemiah 5
1 And there is a great cry of the people and their wives, concerning their brethren the Jews,
तब मानिसहरू र तिनीहरूका पत्नीहरूले आफ्ना यहूदी मित्रहरूका विरुद्धमा ठुलो आवाज उठाए ।
2 yea, there are who are saying, 'Our sons, and our daughters, we — are many, and we receive corn, and eat, and live.'
त्यहाँ केही मानिसहरू थिए जसले भने, “हाम्रा छोराछोरीहरूसमेत गर्दा हामी धेरै छौँ । हामीले खाएर बाँच्नलाई अन्न प्राप्त गरौँ ।”
3 And there are who are saying, 'Our fields, and our vineyards, and our houses, we are pledging, and we receive corn for the famine.'
त्यहाँ अरू केही मानिसहरू पनि थिए जसले भने, “अनिकालको समयमा अन्न प्राप्त गर्न हामी हाम्रा खेतहरू, हाम्रा दाखबारीहरू र हाम्रा घरहरू बन्धकमा राख्दै छौँ ।”
4 And there are who are saying, 'We have borrowed money for the tribute of the king, [on] our fields, and our vineyards;
केहीले यसो पनि भने, “राजालाई हाम्रा खेतहरू र हाम्रा दाखबारीहरूको कर तिर्न हामीले पैसा सापट लिएका छौँ ।
5 and now, as the flesh of our brethren [is] our flesh, as their sons [are] our sons, and lo, we are subduing our sons and our daughters for servants, and there are of our daughters subdued, and our hand hath no might, and our fields and our vineyards [are] to others.'
तरै पनि हाम्रा शरीर हाम्रा दाजुभाइहरूका शरीर जस्तै हुन्, र हाम्रा छोराछोरीहरू तिनीहरूका छोराछोरीहरूजस्तै हुन् । हाम्रा छोराछोरीहरूलाई कमारा-कमारी बन्नको लागि बेच्न हामी बाध्य छौँ । हाम्रा केही छोरीहरू पहिले नै कमारी भइसकेका छन् । अरू मानिसहरूले हाम्रा खेतहरू र हाम्रा दाखबारीहरू अधिकार गरेकाले हामीसित मदत गर्ने खुबी छैन ।”
6 And it is very displeasing to me when I have heard their cry and these words,
जब मैले तिनीहरूको रोदन र यी वचनहरू सुने म सार्है रिसाएँ ।
7 and my heart reigneth over me, and I strive with the freemen, and with the prefects, and say to them, 'Usury one upon another ye are exacting;' and I set against them a great assembly,
तब मैले यस विषयमा सोचविचार गरेँ, अनि कुलीनहरू र अधिकारीहरूलाई दोष लगाएँ । मैले तिनीहरूलाई भनेँ, “तिमीहरू हरेकले आफ्नै भाइबाट ब्याज लिँदै छौ ।” मैले तिनीहरूको विरुद्धमा ठुलो भेला गराएँ,
8 and say to them, 'We have acquired our brethren the Jews, those sold to the nations, according to the ability that [is] in us, and ye also sell your brethren, and they have been sold to us!' and they are silent, and have not found a word.
र तिनीहरूलाई भनेँ, “हामी कुलीनहरूले जाति-जातिहरूकहाँ दासत्वमा बेचिएका हाम्रा यहूदी दाजुभाइहरूलाई दाम तिरी फिर्ता गरेर ल्याएका छौँ, तर तिमीहरू आफ्ना दाजुभाइ तथा दिदी-बहिनीहरू फेरी हामीलाई बेच्छौ!” तिनीहरू स्तब्ध भए र बोल्नलाई कुनै शब्दै भएन ।
9 And I say, 'Not good [is] the thing that ye are doing; in the fear of our God do ye not walk, because of the reproach of the nations our enemies?
मैले यसो पनि भनेँ, “तिमीहरूले जे गरिरहेका छौ, त्यो ठिक होइन । जाति-जातिहरू अर्थात् हाम्रा शत्रुहरूका कटाक्षलाई रोक्न के तिमीहरू हाम्रा परमेश्वरोक डरमा चल्नुपर्दैन र?
10 And also, I, my brethren, and my servants, are exacting of them silver and corn; let us leave off, I pray you, this usury.
मैले, मेरा दाजुभाइहरूले र मेरा सेवकहरूले तिनीहरूलाई रुपियाँ-पैसा र अन्न सापट दिँदै छौँ । तर हामीले यी ऋणमा ब्याज लगाउन रोक्नुपर्छ ।
11 Give back, I pray you, to them, as to-day, their fields, their vineyards, their olive-yards, and their houses, and the hundredth [part] of the money, and of the corn, of the new wine, and of the oil, that ye are exacting of them.'
आजकै दिन तिमीहरूले तिनीहरूबाट लिएका तिनीहरूका खेतहरू, दाखबारीहरू, भद्राक्ष बारीहरू, तिनीहरूका घरहरू, रुपियाँ-पैसाको ब्याज, अन्न, नयाँ दाखमद्य र तेल फर्काइदेओ ।”
12 And they say, 'We give back, and of them we seek nothing; so we do as thou art saying.' And I call the priests, and cause them to swear to do according to this thing;
तब तिनीहरूले भने, “हामीले तिनीहरूबाट लिएका चिजहरू फिर्ता गरिदिने छौँ, र हामी तिनीहरूबाट केही माग गर्दैनौँ । हामी तपाईंले भन्नुभएझैँ गर्ने छौँ ।” तब मैले पुजारीहरूलाई बोलाई तिनीहरूले भनेअनुसार गर्न तिनीहरूलाई शपथ खान लगाएँ ।
13 also, my lap I have shaken, and I say, 'Thus doth God shake out every man, who doth not perform this thing, from his house, and from his labour; yea, thus is he shaken out and empty;' and all the assembly say, 'Amen,' and praise Jehovah; and the people do according to this thing.
मैले आफ्नो खास्टोको गाँठो फुकाएर भनेँ, “आफ्नो प्रतिज्ञा पुरा नगर्ने हरेक मानिसको घर र धन-सम्पत्ति परमेश्वरले यसरी नै फुकालिदेऊन् । त्यसलाई फुकाली रित्तो बनाइयोस् ।” सबै समुदायले भने, “आमेन,” अनि तिनीहरूले परमेश्वरको स्तुति गरे, र तिनीहरूले आ-आफूले प्रतिज्ञा गरेअनुसार गरे ।
14 Also, from the day that he appointed me to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the thirty and second year of Artaxerxes the king — twelve years — I, and my brethren, the bread of the governor have not eaten:
म यहूदा देशको राज्यपाल नियुक्त भएको समयदेखि अर्थात् अर्तासास्त राजाको बिसौँ वर्षदेखि बत्तिसौँ वर्षसम्म, जम्माजम्मी बार्ह वर्षसम्म मैले र मेरा दाजुभाइहरूले राज्यपालको लागि उपलब्ध गराइएको खाना खाएनौँ ।
15 the former governors who [are] before me have made themselves heavy on the people, and take of them in bread and wine, besides in silver forty shekels; also, their servants have ruled over the people — and I have not done so, because of the fear of God.
तर मभन्दा अगिका राज्यपालहरूले मानिसहरूमाथि गर्हौँ बोझ लादिदिए, र तिनीहरूको दैनिक भोजनसाथै दाखमद्यको लागि मानिसहरूबाट चाँदीका चालिस सिक्का कर लिएका थिए । तिनीहरूका सेवकहरूले पनि मानिसहरूमाथि थिचोमिचो गरे । तर परमेश्वरको भयको कारणले मैले त्यसो गरिनँ ।
16 And also, in the work of this wall I have done mightily, even a field we have not bought, and all my servants are gathered there for the work;
मैले पर्खालको कामलाई पनि जारी राखेँ, र कुनै जग्गा जमिन किनिनँ, अनि मेरा सबै सेवक कामको लागि त्यहाँ जम्मा हुन्थे ।
17 and of the Jews, and of the prefects, a hundred and fifty men, and those coming in unto us of the nations that [are] round about us, [are] at my table;
हाम्रा वरिपरि भएका जाति-जातिहरूबाट आउने मानिसहरूबाहेक मेरो टेबुलमा यहूदीहरू र अधिकारीहरू गरी जम्मा १५० जना हुन्थे ।
18 and that which hath been prepared for one day [is] one ox, six fat sheep, also fowls have been prepared for me, and once in ten days of all wines abundantly, and with this, the bread of the governor I have not sought, for heavy is the service on this people.
एउटा गोरु, छवटा मोटा-मोटा भेडा र कुखुराहरू हरेक दिन खानलाई जुटाइनुपर्थ्यो, र दस-दस दिनपछि चाहिँ सबै किसिमका दाखमद्य प्रचुर मात्रामा जुटाइन्थ्यो । यति हुँदाहुँदै पनि मैले राज्यपालको भोजनको भत्ताको माग गरिनँ किनकि मानिसहरूमाथि ठुलो बोझ परेको थियो ।
19 Remember for me, O my God, for good, all that I have done for this people.
हे मेरा परमेश्वर, मैले यी मानिसहरूलाई गरेका सबै कामको निम्ति मेरो भलाइ सोच्नुहोस् ।
