Matthew 19
1 And it came to pass, when Jesus finished these words, he removed from Galilee, and did come to the borders of Judea, beyond the Jordan,
Cuando Jesús terminó estas palabras, salió de Galilea y llegó a los límites de Judea, al otro lado del Jordán.
2 and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them there.
Le siguieron grandes multitudes, y allí los curó.
3 And the Pharisees came near to him, tempting him, and saying to him, 'Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?'
Los fariseos se acercaron a él para ponerle a prueba y decirle: “¿Es lícito que un hombre se divorcie de su mujer por cualquier motivo?”
4 And he answering said to them, 'Did ye not read, that He who made [them], from the beginning a male and a female made them,
Él respondió: “¿No has leído que el que los hizo desde el principio los hizo varón y mujer,
5 and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and they shall be — the two — for one flesh?
y dijo: “Por eso el hombre dejará a su padre y a su madre, y se unirá a su mujer, y los dos se convertirán en una sola carne”?
6 so that they are no more two, but one flesh; what therefore God did join together, let no man put asunder.'
De modo que ya no son dos, sino una sola carne. Por tanto, lo que Dios ha unido, que no lo separe el hombre”.
7 They say to him, 'Why then did Moses command to give a roll of divorce, and to put her away?'
Le preguntaron: “¿Por qué, entonces, Moisés nos ordenó que le diéramos un certificado de divorcio y nos divorciáramos de ella?”
8 He saith to them — 'Moses for your stiffness of heart did suffer you to put away your wives, but from the beginning it hath not been so.
Les dijo: “Moisés, a causa de la dureza de vuestros corazones, os permitió divorciaros de vuestras mujeres, pero desde el principio no ha sido así.
9 'And I say to you, that, whoever may put away his wife, if not for whoredom, and may marry another, doth commit adultery; and he who did marry her that hath been put away, doth commit adultery.'
Os digo que el que se divorcia de su mujer, salvo por inmoralidad sexual, y se casa con otra, comete adulterio; y el que se casa con ella estando divorciada, comete adulterio.”
10 His disciples say to him, 'If the case of the man with the woman is so, it is not good to marry.'
Sus discípulos le dijeron: “Si este es el caso del hombre con su mujer, no conviene casarse”.
11 And he said to them, 'All do not receive this word, but those to whom it hath been given;
Pero él les dijo: “No todos los hombres pueden recibir esta palabra, sino aquellos a quienes se les ha dado.
12 for there are eunuchs who from the mother's womb were so born; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs who kept themselves eunuchs because of the reign of the heavens: he who is able to receive [it] — let him receive.'
Porque hay eunucos que nacieron así desde el vientre de su madre, y hay eunucos que fueron hechos eunucos por los hombres; y hay eunucos que se hicieron a sí mismos eunucos por el Reino de los Cielos. El que pueda recibirlo, que lo reciba”.
13 Then were brought near to him children that he might put hands on them and pray, and the disciples rebuked them.
Entonces le trajeron niños pequeños para que les impusiera las manos y orara; y los discípulos les reprendieron.
14 But Jesus said, 'Suffer the children, and forbid them not, to come unto me, for of such is the reign of the heavens;'
Pero Jesús les dijo: “Dejad a los niños y no les prohibáis que vengan a mí, porque el Reino de los Cielos es de los que son como ellos.”
15 and having laid on them [his] hands, he departed thence.
Les impuso las manos y se fue de allí.
16 And lo, one having come near, said to him, 'Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have life age-during?' (aiōnios g166)
He aquí que uno se acercó a él y le dijo: “Maestro bueno, ¿qué debo hacer para tener la vida eterna?” (aiōnios g166)
17 And he said to him, 'Why me dost thou call good? no one [is] good except One — God; but if thou dost will to enter into the life, keep the commands.'
Le dijo: “¿Por qué me llamas bueno? Nadie es bueno sino uno, es decir, Dios. Pero si quieres entrar en la vida, guarda los mandamientos”.
18 He saith to him, 'What kind?' And Jesus said, 'Thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness,
Le dijo: “¿Cuáles?” Jesús dijo: “‘No asesinarás’. No cometerás adulterio”. ‘No robarás’. No darás falso testimonio”.
19 honour thy father and mother, and, thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.'
‘Honra a tu padre y a tu madre’. Y, ‘Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo’”.
20 The young man saith to him, 'All these did I keep from my youth; what yet do I lack?'
El joven le dijo: “Todo esto lo he observado desde mi juventud. ¿Qué me falta todavía?”
21 Jesus said to him, 'If thou dost will to be perfect, go away, sell what thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come, follow me.'
Jesús le dijo: “Si quieres ser perfecto, anda, vende lo que tienes y dalo a los pobres, y tendrás un tesoro en el cielo; y ven, sígueme.”
22 And the young man, having heard the word, went away sorrowful, for he had many possessions;
Pero el joven, al oír esto, se fue triste, porque era uno de los que tenía grandes posesiones.
23 and Jesus said to his disciples, 'Verily I say to you, that hardly shall a rich man enter into the reign of the heavens;
Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: “Os aseguro que un rico entrará con dificultad en el Reino de los Cielos.
24 and again I say to you, it is easier for a camel through the eye of a needle to go, than for a rich man to enter into the reign of God.'
También os digo que es más fácil que un camello pase por el ojo de una aguja que un rico entre en el Reino de Dios.”
25 And his disciples having heard, were amazed exceedingly, saying, 'Who, then, is able to be saved?'
Cuando los discípulos lo oyeron, se asombraron mucho, diciendo: “¿Quién, pues, podrá salvarse?”
26 And Jesus having earnestly beheld, said to them, 'With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'
Mirándolos, Jesús dijo: “Para los hombres esto es imposible, pero para Dios todo es posible”.
27 Then Peter answering said to him, 'Lo, we did leave all, and follow thee, what then shall we have?'
Entonces Pedro respondió: “He aquí que lo hemos dejado todo y te hemos seguido. ¿Qué tendremos entonces?”
28 And Jesus said to them, 'Verily I say to you, that ye who did follow me, in the regeneration, when the Son of Man may sit upon a throne of his glory, shall sit — ye also — upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel;
Jesús les dijo: “De cierto os digo que vosotros, los que me habéis seguido, en la regeneración, cuando el Hijo del hombre se siente en el trono de su gloria, os sentaréis también vosotros en doce tronos, para juzgar a las doce tribus de Israel.
29 and every one who left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or fields, for my name's sake, an hundredfold shall receive, and life age-during shall inherit; (aiōnios g166)
Todo el que haya dejado casas, o hermanos, o hermanas, o padre, o madre, o esposa, o hijos, o tierras, por mi nombre, recibirá cien veces, y heredará la vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
30 and many first shall be last, and last first.
Pero serán últimos los que sean primeros, y primeros los que sean últimos.
