Matthew 12
1 At that time did Jesus go on the sabbaths through the corn, and his disciples were hungry, and they began to pluck ears, and to eat,
Zu jener Zeit ging Jesus am Sabbat durch die Saaten; seine Jünger aber hungerten und fingen an, Ähren abzustreifen und zu essen.
2 and the Pharisees having seen, said to him, 'Lo, thy disciples do that which it is not lawful to do on a sabbath.'
Als aber das die Pharisäer sahen, sprachen sie zu ihm: Siehe, deine Jünger tun, was am Sabbat zu tun nicht erlaubt ist!
3 And he said to them, 'Did ye not read what David did, when he was hungry, himself and those with him —
Er aber sagte zu ihnen: Habt ihr nicht gelesen, was David tat, als ihn und seine Gefährten hungerte?
4 how he went into the house of God, and the loaves of the presentation did eat, which it is not lawful to him to eat, nor to those with him, except to the priests alone?
Wie er in das Haus Gottes hineinging und sie die Schaubrote aßen, welche weder er noch seine Gefährten essen durften, sondern allein die Priester?
5 'Or did ye not read in the Law, that on the sabbaths the priests in the temple do profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
Oder habt ihr nicht im Gesetz gelesen, daß am Sabbat die Priester im Tempel den Sabbat entweihen und doch ohne Schuld sind?
6 and I say to you, that a greater than the temple is here;
Ich sage euch aber: Hier ist ein Größerer als der Tempel!
7 and if ye had known what is: Kindness I will, and not sacrifice — ye had not condemned the blameless,
Wenn ihr aber wüßtet, was das heißt: «Ich will Barmherzigkeit und nicht Opfer», so hättet ihr die Unschuldigen nicht verurteilt.
8 for the son of man is lord even of the sabbath.'
Denn des Menschen Sohn ist Herr über den Sabbat.
9 And having departed thence, he went to their synagogue,
Und er ging von dort weiter und kam in ihre Synagoge.
10 and lo, there was a man having the hand withered, and they questioned him, saying, 'Is it lawful to heal on the sabbaths?' that they might accuse him.
Und siehe, da war ein Mensch, der hatte eine verdorrte Hand. Und sie fragten ihn und sprachen: Darf man am Sabbat heilen? damit sie ihn verklagen könnten.
11 And he said to them, 'What man shall be of you, who shall have one sheep, and if this may fall on the sabbaths into a ditch, will not lay hold on it and raise [it]?
Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Welcher Mensch ist unter euch, der ein Schaf hat und, wenn es am Sabbat in eine Grube fällt, es nicht ergreift und herauszieht?
12 How much better, therefore, is a man than a sheep? — so that it is lawful on the sabbaths to do good.'
Wieviel besser ist nun ein Mensch, denn ein Schaf! Darum darf man am Sabbat wohl Gutes tun.
13 Then saith he to the man, 'Stretch forth thy hand,' and he stretched [it] forth, and it was restored whole as the other.
Dann sprach er zu dem Menschen: Strecke deine Hand aus! Und er streckte sie aus, und sie wurde gesund wie die andere.
14 And the Pharisees having gone forth, held a consultation against him, how they might destroy him,
Da gingen die Pharisäer hinaus und hielten Rat wider ihn, um ihn umzubringen.
15 and Jesus having known, withdrew thence, and there followed him great multitudes, and he healed them all,
Jesus aber, da er es merkte, zog sich von dort zurück; und es folgten ihm viele nach, und er heilte sie alle.
16 and did charge them that they might not make him manifest,
Und er gebot ihnen, ihn nicht offenbar zu machen,
17 that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
damit erfüllt würde, was durch den Propheten Jesaja gesagt ist:
18 'Lo, My servant, whom I did choose, My beloved, in whom My soul did delight, I will put My Spirit upon him, and judgment to the nations he shall declare,
«Siehe, mein Knecht, den ich erwählt habe, mein Geliebter, an dem meine Seele Wohlgefallen hat. Ich will meinen Geist auf ihn legen, und er wird den Heiden das Recht verkündigen.
19 he shall not strive nor cry, nor shall any hear in the broad places his voice,
Er wird nicht zanken noch schreien, und niemand wird auf den Gassen seine Stimme hören.
20 a bruised reed he shall not break, and smoking flax he shall not quench, till he may put forth judgment to victory,
Ein geknicktes Rohr wird er nicht zerbrechen, und einen glimmenden Docht wird er nicht auslöschen, bis daß er das Gericht zum Sieg ausführe.
21 and in his name shall nations hope.'
Und die Heiden werden auf seinen Namen hoffen.»
22 Then was brought to him a demoniac, blind and dumb, and he healed him, so that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
Da wurde ein Besessener zu ihm gebracht, der blind und stumm war, und er heilte ihn, so daß der Blinde und Stumme redete und sah.
23 And all the multitudes were amazed, and said, 'Is this the Son of David?'
Und alles Volk erstaunte und sprach: Ist dieser nicht etwa der Sohn Davids?
24 but the Pharisees having heard, said, 'This one doth not cast out demons, except by Beelzeboul, ruler of the demons.'
Als aber die Pharisäer es hörten, sprachen sie: Dieser treibt die Dämonen nicht anders aus als durch Beelzebul, den Obersten der Dämonen!
25 And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said to them, 'Every kingdom having been divided against itself is desolated, and no city or house having been divided against itself, doth stand,
Da aber Jesus ihre Gedanken merkte, sprach er zu ihnen: Jedes Reich, das mit sich selbst uneins ist, wird veröden, und keine Stadt, kein Haus, das mit sich selbst uneins ist, kann bestehen.
26 and if the Adversary doth cast out the Adversary, against himself he was divided, how then doth his kingdom stand?
Wenn nun ein Satan den andern austreibt, so ist er mit sich selbst uneins. Wie kann dann sein Reich bestehen?
27 'And if I, by Beelzeboul, do cast out the demons, your sons — by whom do they cast out? because of this they — they shall be your judges.
Und wenn ich die Dämonen durch Beelzebul austreibe, durch wen treiben eure Söhne sie aus? Darum werden sie eure Richter sein.
28 'But if I, by the Spirit of God, do cast out the demons, then come already unto you did the reign of God.
Wenn ich aber die Dämonen durch den Geist Gottes austreibe, so ist ja das Reich Gottes zu euch gekommen.
29 'Or how is one able to go into the house of the strong man, and to plunder his goods, if first he may not bind the strong man? and then his house he will plunder.
Oder wie kann jemand in das Haus des Starken hineingehen und seinen Hausrat rauben, wenn er nicht zuerst den Starken bindet? Erst dann kann er sein Haus plündern.
30 'He who is not with me is against me, and he who is not gathering with me, doth scatter.
Wer nicht mit mir ist, der ist wider mich, und wer nicht mit mir sammelt, der zerstreut.
31 Because of this I say to you, all sin and evil speaking shall be forgiven to men, but the evil speaking of the Spirit shall not be forgiven to men.
Darum sage ich euch: Jede Sünde und Lästerung wird den Menschen vergeben werden; aber die Lästerung des Geistes wird den Menschen nicht vergeben werden.
32 And whoever may speak a word against the Son of Man it shall be forgiven to him, but whoever may speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that which is coming. (aiōn g165)
Und wer ein Wort redet wider des Menschen Sohn, dem wird vergeben werden; wer aber wider den heiligen Geist redet, dem wird nicht vergeben werden, weder in dieser Weltzeit noch in der zukünftigen. (aiōn g165)
33 'Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree bad, and its fruit bad, for from the fruit is the tree known.
Entweder pflanzet einen guten Baum, so wird die Frucht gut, oder pflanzet einen schlechten Baum, so wird die Frucht schlecht! Denn an der Frucht erkennt man den Baum.
34 'Brood of vipers! how are ye able to speak good things — being evil? for out of the abundance of the heart doth the mouth speak.
Schlangenbrut, wie könnt ihr Gutes reden, da ihr böse seid? Denn wes das Herz voll ist, des geht der Mund über.
35 The good man out of the good treasure of the heart doth put forth the good things, and the evil man out of the evil treasure doth put forth evil things.
Der gute Mensch bringt aus dem guten Schatze [des Herzens] Gutes hervor, und der böse Mensch bringt aus seinem bösen Schatze Böses hervor.
36 'And I say to you, that every idle word that men may speak, they shall give for it a reckoning in a day of judgment;
Ich sage euch aber, daß die Menschen am Tage des Gerichts Rechenschaft geben müssen von jedem unnützen Wort, das sie geredet haben.
37 for from thy words thou shalt be declared righteous, and from thy words thou shalt be declared unrighteous.'
Denn nach deinen Worten wirst du gerechtfertigt, und nach deinen Worten wirst du verurteilt werden.
38 Then answered certain of the scribes and Pharisees, saying, 'Teacher, we will to see a sign from thee.'
Da hoben etliche der Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer an und sprachen: Meister, wir wollen von dir ein Zeichen sehen!
39 And he answering said to them, 'A generation, evil and adulterous, doth seek a sign, and a sign shall not be given to it, except the sign of Jonah the prophet;
Er aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Das böse und ehebrecherische Geschlecht begehrt ein Zeichen; aber es wird ihm kein Zeichen gegeben werden als das Zeichen des Propheten Jona.
40 for, as Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights, so shall the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.
Denn gleichwie Jona drei Tage und drei Nächte im Bauche des Riesenfisches war, also wird des Menschen Sohn drei Tage und drei Nächte im Schoße der Erde sein.
41 'Men of Nineveh shall stand up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it, for they reformed at the proclamation of Jonah, and lo, a greater than Jonah here!
Leute von Ninive werden auftreten im Gericht wider dieses Geschlecht und werden es verurteilen; denn sie taten Buße auf die Predigt des Jona hin. Und siehe, hier ist mehr als Jona!
42 'A queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and lo, a greater than Solomon here!
Die Königin von Mittag wird auftreten im Gerichte wider dieses Geschlecht und wird es verurteilen; denn sie kam vom Ende der Erde, um Salomos Weisheit zu hören. Und siehe, hier ist mehr als Salomo!
43 'And, when the unclean spirit may go forth from the man, it doth walk through dry places seeking rest, and doth not find;
Wenn aber der unreine Geist vom Menschen ausgefahren ist, so durchwandelt er wasserlose Stätten und sucht Ruhe und findet sie nicht.
44 then it saith, I will turn back to my house whence I came forth; and having come, it findeth [it] unoccupied, swept, and adorned:
Dann spricht er: Ich will in mein Haus zurückkehren, aus welchem ich gegangen bin. Und wenn er kommt, findet er es leer, gesäubert und geschmückt.
45 then doth it go, and take with itself seven other spirits more evil than itself, and having gone in they dwell there, and the last of that man doth become worse than the first; so shall it be also to this evil generation.'
Alsdann geht er hin und nimmt sieben andere Geister mit sich, die schlimmer sind als er; und sie ziehen ein und wohnen daselbst, und es wird zuletzt mit diesem Menschen ärger als zuerst. So wird es auch sein mit diesem bösen Geschlecht.
46 And while he was yet speaking to the multitudes, lo, his mother and brethren had stood without, seeking to speak to him,
Während er noch zu dem Volke redete, siehe, da standen seine Mutter und seine Brüder draußen und suchten mit ihm zu reden.
47 and one said to him, 'Lo, thy mother and thy brethren do stand without, seeking to speak to thee.'
Da sprach einer zu ihm: Siehe, deine Mutter und deine Brüder stehen draußen und suchen mit dir zu reden.
48 And he answering said to him who spake to him, 'Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?'
Er aber antwortete und sprach zu dem, der es ihm sagte: Wer ist meine Mutter, und wer sind meine Brüder?
49 And having stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, he said, 'Lo, my mother and my brethren!
Und er streckte seine Hand aus über seine Jünger und sprach: Seht da, meine Mutter und meine Brüder!
50 for whoever may do the will of my Father who is in the heavens, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.'
Denn wer den Willen tut meines Vaters im Himmel, der ist mir Bruder, Schwester und Mutter!
