Malachi 3

1 Lo, I am sending My messenger, And he hath prepared a way before Me, And suddenly come in unto his temple Doth the Lord whom ye are seeking, Even the messenger of the covenant, Whom ye are desiring, Lo, he is coming, said Jehovah of Hosts.

Eis que eu envio o meu anjo, que aparelhará o caminho diante de mim; e de repente virá ao seu templo o Senhor, a quem vós buscais, e o anjo do concerto, a quem vós desejais; eis aqui que vem, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.

2 And who is bearing the day of his coming? And who is standing in his appearing? For he [is] as fire of a refiner, And as soap of a fuller.

Mas quem suportará o dia da sua vinda? e quem subsistirá, quando ele aparecer? porque ele será como o fogo do ourives e como o sabão dos lavandeiros.

3 And he hath sat, a refiner and purifier of silver, And he hath purified the sons of Levi, And hath refined them as gold and as silver, And they have been to Jehovah bringing nigh a present in righteousness.

E assentar-se-á, afinando e purificando a prata; e purgará os filhos de Levi, e os afinará como ouro e como prata: então ao Senhor trarão oferta em justiça.

4 And sweet to Jehovah hath been the present of Judah and Jerusalem, As in days of old, and as in former years.

E a oferta de Judá e de Jerusalém será suave ao Senhor, como nos dias antigos, e como nos primeiros.

5 And I have drawn near to you for judgment, And I have been a witness, Making haste against sorcerers, And against adulterers, And against swearers to a falsehood, And against oppressors of the hire of an hireling, Of a widow, and of a fatherless one, And those turning aside a sojourner, And who fear Me not, said Jehovah of Hosts.

E chegar-me-ei a vós para juízo, e serei uma testemunha veloz contra os feiticeiros e contra os adúlteros, e contra os que juram falsamente, e contra os que defraudam o jornaleiro em seu jornal, e a viúva, e o órfão, que pervertem o direito do estrangeiro, e não me temem, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.

6 For I [am] Jehovah, I have not changed, And ye, the sons of Jacob, Ye have not been consumed.

Porque eu, o Senhor, não mudo; por isso vós, ó filhos de Jacob, não sois consumidos.

7 Even from the days of your fathers Ye have turned aside from My statutes, And ye have not taken heed. Turn back unto Me, and I turn back to you, Said Jehovah of Hosts. And ye have said, 'In what do we turn back?'

Desde os dias de vossos pais vos desviastes dos meus estatutos, e não os guardastes: tornai a mim, e eu tornarei a vós, diz o Senhor dos exércitos; mas vós dizeis: Em que havemos de tornar?

8 Doth man deceive God? but ye are deceiving Me, And ye have said: 'In what have we deceived Thee?' The tithe and the heave-offering!

Roubará o homem a Deus? porque vós me roubais, e dizeis: Em que te roubamos? nos dízimos e nas ofertas alçadas.

9 With a curse ye are cursed! And Me ye are deceiving — this nation — all of it.

Com maldição sois malditos, porque me roubais a mim, sim, toda a nação.

10 Bring in all the tithe unto the treasure-house, And there is food in My house; When ye have tried Me, now, with this, Said Jehovah of Hosts, Do not I open to you the windows of heaven? Yea, I have emptied on you a blessing till there is no space.

Trazei todos os dízimos à casa do tesouro, para que haja mantimento na minha casa, e provai-me nisto, diz o Senhor dos exércitos, se eu então não vos abrirei as janelas do céu, e não vasarei sobre vós uma benção até que não caiba mais.

11 And I have pushed for you against the consumer, And He doth not destroy to you the fruit of the ground, Nor miscarry to you doth the vine in the field, Said Jehovah of Hosts.

E por causa de vós repreenderei o devorador, para que não vos corrompa o fruto da terra; e a vide no campo vos não será estéril, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.

12 And declared you happy have all the nations, For ye are a delightful land, said Jehovah of Hosts.

E todas as nações vos chamarão bem-aventurados; porque vós sereis uma terra deleitosa, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.

13 Hard against Me have been your words, Said Jehovah, and ye have said: 'What have we spoken against Thee?'

As vossas palavras prevaleceram contra mim, diz o Senhor; mas vós dizeis: Que temos falado contra ti?

14 Ye have said, 'A vain thing to serve God! And what gain when we kept His charge? And when we have gone in black, Because of Jehovah of Hosts?

Vós dizeis: Debalde é servir a Deus: que nos aproveita termos guardado os seus preceitos, e andarmos vestidos de preto diante do Senhor dos exércitos?

15 And now, we are declaring the proud happy, Yea, built up have been those doing wickedness, Yea they have tempted God, and escape.'

Ora pois, nós reputamos por bem-aventurados os soberbos: também os que obram impiedade se edificam; também tentam ao Senhor, e escapam.

16 Then have those fearing Jehovah spoken one to another, And Jehovah doth attend and hear, And written is a book of memorial before Him Of those fearing Jehovah, And of those esteeming His name.

Então aqueles que temem ao Senhor falam cada um com o seu companheiro; e o Senhor atenta e ouve; e há um memorial escrito diante dele, para os que temem o Senhor, e para os que se lembram do seu nome.

17 And they have been to Me, said Jehovah of Hosts, In the day that I am appointing — a peculiar treasure, And I have had pity on them, As one hath pity on his son who is serving him.

E eles serão meus, diz o Senhor dos exércitos, naquele dia que farei me serão propriedade; poupa-los-ei, como um homem poupa a seu filho, que o serve.

18 And ye have turned back and considered, Between the righteous and the wicked, Between the servant of God and him who is not His servant.

Então tornareis e vereis a diferença entre o justo e o ímpio; entre o que serve a Deus, e o que não o serve.
