Luke 3
1 And in the fifteenth year of the government of Tiberius Caesar — Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod tetrarch of Galilee, and Philip his brother, tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene —
In dem fünfzehnten Jahr des Kaisertums Kaisers Tiberius, da Pontius Pilatus Landpfleger in Judäa war und Herodes ein Vierfürst in Galiläa und sein Bruder Philippus ein Vierfürst in Ituräa und in der Gegend Trachonitis. und Lysanias ein Vierfürst in Abilene,
2 Annas and Caiaphas being chief priests — there came a word of God unto John the son of Zacharias, in the wilderness,
da Hannas und Kaiphas Hohepriester waren: da geschah der Befehl Gottes zu Johannes, des Zacharias Sohn, in der Wüste.
3 and he came to all the region round the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of reformation — to remission of sins,
Und er kam in alle Gegend um den Jordan und predigte die Taufe der Buße zur Vergebung der Sünden.
4 as it hath been written in the scroll of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying, 'A voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, straight make ye His paths;
wie geschrieben stehet in dem Buch der Reden Jesaja's, des Propheten, der da sagt: Es ist eine Stimme eines Predigers in der Wüste: Bereitet den Weg des HERRN und machet seine Steige richtig!
5 every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low, and the crooked shall become straightness, and the rough become smooth ways;
Alle Täler sollen voll werden, und alle Berge und Hügel sollen erniedriget werden; und was krumm ist, soll richtig werden und was uneben ist, soll schlechter Weg werden.
6 and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.'
Und alles Fleisch wird den Heiland Gottes sehen.
7 Then said he to the multitudes coming forth to be baptised by him, 'Brood of vipers! who did prompt you to flee from the coming wrath?
Da sprach er zu dem Volk, das hinausging, daß es sich von ihm taufen ließe: Ihr Otterngezüchte, wer hat denn euch geweiset, daß ihr dem zukünftigen Zorn entrinnen werdet?
8 make, therefore, fruits worthy of the reformation, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have a father — Abraham; for I say to you, that God is able out of these stones to raise children to Abraham;
Sehet zu, tut rechtschaffene Früchte der Buße und nehmet euch nicht vor zu sagen: Wir haben Abraham zum Vater. Denn ich sage euch: Gott kann dem Abraham aus diesen Steinen Kinder erwecken.
9 and already also the axe unto the root of the trees is laid, every tree, therefore, not making good fruit is cut down, and to fire it is cast.'
Es ist schon die Axt den Bäumen an die Wurzel gelegt; welcher Baum nicht gute Früchte bringet, wird abgehauen und in das Feuer geworfen.
10 And the multitudes were questioning him, saying, 'What, then, shall we do?'
Und das Volk fragete ihn und sprach: Was sollen wir denn tun?
11 and he answering saith to them, 'He having two coats — let him impart to him having none, and he having victuals — in like manner let him do.'
Er antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Wer zwei Röcke hat, der gebe dem, der keinen hat; und wer Speise hat, tue auch also.
12 And there came also tax-gatherers to be baptised, and they said unto him, 'Teacher, what shall we do?'
Es kamen auch die Zöllner, daß sie sich taufen ließen, und sprachen zu ihm: Meister, was sollen denn wir tun?
13 and he said unto them, 'Exact no more than that directed you.'
Er sprach zu ihnen: Fordert nicht mehr, denn gesetzt ist.
14 And questioning him also were those warring, saying, 'And we, what shall we do?' and he said unto them, 'Do violence to no one, nor accuse falsely, and be content with your wages.'
Da fragten ihn auch die, Kriegsleute und sprachen: Was sollen denn wir tun? Und er sprach zu ihnen: Tut niemand Gewalt noch Unrecht und lasset euch begnügen an eurem Solde.
15 And the people are looking forward, and all are reasoning in their hearts concerning John, whether or not he may be the Christ;
Als aber das Volk im Wahn war und dachten alle in ihren Herzen von Johannes, ob er vielleicht Christus wäre
16 John answered, saying to all, 'I indeed with water do baptise you, but he cometh who is mightier than I, of whom I am not worthy to loose the latchet of his sandals — he shall baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire;
antwortete Johannes und sprach zu allen: Ich taufe euch mit Wasser; es kommt aber ein Stärkerer nach mir, dem ich nicht genugsam bin, daß ich die Riemen seiner Schuhe auflöse; der wird euch mit dem Heiligen Geist und mit Feuer taufen.
17 whose winnowing shovel [is] in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his floor, and will gather the wheat to his storehouse, and the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.'
In desselbigen Hand ist die Worfschaufel; und er wird seine Tenne fegen und wird den Weizen in seine Scheuer sammeln und die Spreu wird er mit ewigem Feuer verbrennen.
18 And, therefore, indeed with many other things, exhorting, he was proclaiming good news to the people,
Und viel, anderes mehr vermahnete und verkündigte er dem Volk.
19 and Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him concerning Herodias the wife of Philip his brother, and concerning all the evils that Herod did,
Herodes aber der Vierfürst, da er von ihm gestraft ward um der Herodias willen, seines Bruders Weib, und um alles Übels willen, das Herodes tat -
20 added also this to all, that he shut up John in the prison.
über das alles legte er Johannes gefangen.
21 And it came to pass, in all the people being baptised, Jesus also being baptised, and praying, the heaven was opened,
Und es begab sich, da sich alles Volk taufen ließ, und Jesus auch getaufet war und betete, daß sich der Himmel auftat.
22 and the Holy Spirit came down in a bodily appearance, as if a dove, upon him, and a voice came out of heaven, saying, 'Thou art My Son — the Beloved, in thee I did delight.'
Und der Heilige Geist fuhr hernieder in leiblicher Gestalt auf ihn wie eine Taube, und eine Stimme kam aus dem Himmel, die sprach: Du bist mein lieber Sohn, an dem ich Wohlgefallen habe.
23 And Jesus himself was beginning to be about thirty years of age, being, as was supposed, son of Joseph,
Und Jesus ging in das dreißigste Jahr und ward gehalten für einen Sohn Josephs, welcher war ein Sohn Elis,
24 the [son] of Eli, the [son] of Matthat, the [son] of Levi, the [son] of Melchi, the [son] of Janna, the [son] of Joseph,
der war ein Sohn Matthats, der war ein Sohn Levis, der war ein Sohn Melchis, der war ein Sohn Jannas, der war ein Sohn Josephs,
25 the [son] of Mattathias, the [son] of Amos, the [son] of Naum, the [son] of Esli,
der war ein Sohn des Mattathias, der war ein Sohn des Amos, der war ein Sohn Nahums, der war ein Sohn Eslis, der war ein Sohn Nanges,
26 the [son] of Naggai, the [son] of Maath, the [son] of Mattathias, the [son] of Semei, the [son] of Joseph, the [son] of Juda,
der war ein Sohn Maaths, der war ein Sohn des Mattathias, der war ein Sohn Semeis, der war ein Sohn Josephs, der war ein Sohn Judas,
27 the [son] of Joanna, the [son] of Rhesa, the [son] of Zerubbabel, the [son] of Shealtiel,
der war ein Sohn Johannas, der war ein Sohn Resias, der war ein Sohn Zorobabels, der war ein Sohn Salathiels, der war ein Sohn Neris,
28 the [son] of Neri, the [son] of Melchi, the [son] of Addi, the [son] of Cosam, the [son] of Elmodam, the [son] of Er,
der war ein Sohn Melchis, der war ein Sohn Addis, der war ein Sohn Komas, der war ein Sohn Elmodams, der war ein Sohn Hers,
29 the [son] of Jose, the [son] of Eliezer, the [son] of Jorim, the [son] of Matthat,
der war ein Sohn Joses, der war ein Sohn Eliezers, der war ein Sohn Jorems, der war ein Sohn Matthas, der war ein Sohn Levis,
30 the [son] of Levi, the [son] of Simeon, the [son] of Juda, the [son] of Joseph, the [son] of Jonan, the [son] of Eliakim,
der war ein Sohn Simeons, der war ein Sohn Judas, der war ein Sohn Josephs, der war ein Sohn Jonams, der war ein Sohn Eliakims,
31 the [son] of Melea, the [son] of Mainan, the [son] of Mattatha, the [son] of Nathan,
der war ein Sohn Meleas, der war ein Sohn Menams der war ein Sohn Mattathans, der war ein Sohn Nathans, der war ein Sohn Davids,
32 the [son] of David, the [son] of Jesse, the [son] of Obed, the [son] of Booz, the [son] of Salmon, the [son] of Nahshon,
der war ein Sohn Jesses der war ein Sohn Obeds, der war ein Sohn des Boas, der war ein Sohn Salmons, der war ein Sohn Nahassons,
33 the [son] of Amminadab, the [son] of Aram, the [son] of Esrom, the [son] of Pharez,
der war ein Sohn Amminadabs, der war ein Sohn Arams, der war ein Sohn Esroms, der war ein Sohn des Phares, der war ein Sohn Judas,
34 the [son] of Judah, the [son] of Jacob, the [son] of Isaac, the [son] of Abraham, the [son] of Terah, the [son] of Nahor,
der war ein Sohn Jakobs, der war ein Sohn Isaaks, der war ein. Sohn Abrahams, der war ein Sohn Tharas, der war ein Sohn Nahors,
35 the [son] of Serug, the [son] of Reu, the [son] of Peleg, the [son] of Eber,
der war ein Sohn Saruchs, der war ein Sohn Ragahus, der war ein Sohn Phalegs, der war ein Sohn Ebers, der war ein Sohn Salas,
36 the [son] of Salah, the [son] of Cainan, the [son] of Arphaxad, the [son] of Shem, the [son] of Noah, the [son] of Lamech,
(der war ein Sohn Kainans, ) der war ein Sohn Arphachsads, der war ein Sohn Sems, der war ein Sohn Noahs, der war ein Sohn Lamechs,
37 the [son] of Methuselah, the [son] of Enoch, the [son] of Jared, the [son] of Mahalaleel,
der war ein Sohn Mathusalahs, der war ein Sohn Enochs, der war ein Sohn Jareds, der war ein Sohn Maleleels, der war ein Sohn Kainans,
38 the [son] of Cainan, the [son] of Enos, the [son] of Seth, the [son] of Adam, the [son] of God.
der war ein Sohn des Enos, der ein Sohn Seths, der war ein Sohn Adams, der war Gottes.
