< Luke 16 >

1 And he said also unto his disciples, 'A certain man was rich, who had a steward, and he was accused to him as scattering his goods;
Yesu ka kyerɛɛ nʼasuafoɔ no sɛ, “Ɔdefoɔ bi wɔ hɔ a na ɔwɔ efie sohwɛfoɔ bi. Ɔdefoɔ yi tetee sɛ ne efie sohwɛfoɔ no resɛe ne nneɛma.
2 and having called him, he said to him, What [is] this I hear about thee? render the account of thy stewardship, for thou mayest not any longer be steward.
Ɔtee saa asɛm yi no, ɔfrɛɛ ne efie sohwɛfoɔ no ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, ‘Ɛdeɛn na metete fa wo ho yi? Bɛbu wʼadwuma ho nkonta kyerɛ me na merentumi ne wo nyɛ adwuma bio.’
3 'And the steward said in himself, What shall I do, because my lord doth take away the stewardship from me? to dig I am not able, to beg I am ashamed: —
“Efie sohwɛfoɔ no kaa wɔ ne tirim sɛ, ‘Menyɛ ɛdeɛn ni? Ɛnnɛ a wɔrepam me afiri efie ha yi, ɛhe na mɛfa? Menni ahoɔden a mede bɛdɔ, ɛnna mefɛre nso sɛ mɛsrɛsrɛ adeɛ.
4 I have known what I shall do, that, when I may be removed from the stewardship, they may receive me to their houses.
Menim deɛ mɛyɛ a ɛbɛma wɔn a wɔdede me wura aka no bɛhunu me mmɔbɔ.’
5 'And having called near each one of his lord's debtors, he said to the first, How much dost thou owe to my lord?
“Enti, ɔfrɛfrɛɛ wɔn a wɔdede ne wura aka no mmaako mmaako. Ɔbisaa deɛ ɔdi ɛkan no sɛ, ‘Ɛka ahe na wode me wura?’
6 and he said, A hundred baths of oil; and he said to him, Take thy bill, and having sat down write fifty.
“Ɔbuaa sɛ, ‘Mede ngo nhina aduonu ka.’ “Enti, ɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, ‘Yɛ ntɛm tena ase na twam na twerɛ sɛ, wode ngo nhina edu ka.’
7 'Afterward to another he said, And thou, how much dost thou owe? and he said, A hundred cors of wheat; and he saith to him, Take thy bill, and write eighty.
“Ɛno akyi no, ɔfrɛɛ ɔfoforɔ bi nso bisaa no sɛ, ‘Na wo nso, ɛka ahe na wode me wura?’ “Ɔno nso buaa sɛ, ‘Mede aburoo nkotokuo ɔha ka.’ “Enti, ɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, ‘Tena ase na twam na twerɛ sɛ, wode nkotokuo aduonum ka!’
8 'And the lord commended the unrighteous steward that he did prudently, because the sons of this age are more prudent than the sons of the light, in respect to their generation. (aiōn g165)
“Ɔdefoɔ no hunuu deɛ efie sohwɛfoɔ no yɛeɛ no akyi, nanso ɔnam fɛdie so kamfoo no wɔ nʼanifire no ho. Saa ara nso na ewiase yi mma susu sɛ wɔnim nyansa sene wɔn a wɔyɛ Onyankopɔn akyidifoɔ no. (aiōn g165)
9 and I say to you, Make to yourselves friends out of the mammon of unrighteousness, that when ye may fail, they may receive you to the age-during tabernacles. (aiōnios g166)
Na me nso mese mo sɛ, momfa ewiase ahonyadeɛ no bi nyɛ nnamfoɔ, na sɛ ɛsa a, wɔagye mo. (aiōnios g166)
10 'He who is faithful in the least, [is] also faithful in much; and he who in the least [is] unrighteous, is also unrighteous in much;
“Nanso deɛ ɔdi nokorɛ wɔ kakra bi ho no bɛdi nokorɛ wɔ pii ho; na deɛ ɔnni nokorɛ wɔ kakra bi ho no, rentumi nni nokorɛ wɔ pii ho.
11 if, then, in the unrighteous mammon ye became not faithful — the true who will entrust to you?
Sɛ moantumi anni nokorɛ wɔ ewiase nneɛma ho a, hwan na ɔde ɔsoro nnepa bɛhyɛ mo nsa?
12 and if in the other's ye became not faithful — your own, who shall give to you?
Sɛ moanni nokorɛ wɔ obi adeɛ bi a wɔde ahyɛ mo nsa no ho a, ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na wɔde deɛ ɛsɛ sɛ ɛyɛ mo dea no bɛma mo?
13 'No domestic is able to serve two lords, for either the one he will hate, and the other he will love; or one he will hold to, and of the other he will be heedless; ye are not able to serve God and mammon.'
“Ɔsomfoɔ biara rentumi nsom awuranom baanu, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔyɛ saa a, ɔbɛdɔ ɔbaako na watan ɔbaako anaasɛ, ɔbɛsom ɔbaako yie na wabu ɔbaako animtia. Morentumi nsom Onyankopɔn ne ahonyadeɛ.”
14 And also the Pharisees, being lovers of money, were hearing all these things, and were deriding him,
Farisifoɔ sikaniberefoɔ no tee deɛ Yesu kaeɛ no, wɔdii ne ho fɛw.
15 and he said to them, 'Ye are those declaring yourselves righteous before men, but God doth know your hearts; because that which among men is high, [is] abomination before God;
Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Moyɛ nnipa a mobu mo ho ateneneefoɔ wɔ nnipa anim, nanso Onyankopɔn nim mo akoma mu. Na deɛ ɛsom bo wɔ nnipa ani so no yɛ akyiwadeɛ wɔ Onyankopɔn anim.
16 the law and the prophets [are] till John; since then the reign of God is proclaimed good news, and every one doth press into it;
“Ansa na Yohane Osubɔni bɛba no, na Mose mmara ne adiyifoɔ no nsɛm no na modi so. Na Yohane Osubɔni baeɛ no, ɔbɛkaa Onyankopɔn Ahennie ho nsɛm kyerɛɛ mo, enti, nnipa repere sɛ wɔbɛkɔ saa Ahennie no mu.
17 and it is easier to the heaven and the earth to pass away, than of the law one tittle to fall.
Ɛyɛ mmerɛ sɛ ɔsoro ne asase bɛtwam sene sɛ mmara no mu nsensaneɛ ketewa baako mpo bɛyera.
18 'Every one who is sending away his wife, and marrying another, doth commit adultery; and every one who is marrying her sent away from a husband doth commit adultery.
“Obiara a ɔgyaa ne yere awadeɛ na ɔware ɔfoforɔ no bɔ adwaman; na deɛ ɔware ɔbaa biara a ne kunu agyaa no no nso, bɔ adwaman.”
19 'And — a certain man was rich, and was clothed in purple and fine linen, making merry sumptuously every day,
Yesu toaa so kaa sɛ, “Ɔdefoɔ bi tenaa ase a na daa ɔfira ntoma pa na ɔgye nʼani yie nso.
20 and there was a certain poor man, by name Lazarus, who was laid at his porch, full of sores,

21 and desiring to be filled from the crumbs that are falling from the table of the rich man; yea, also the dogs, coming, were licking his sores.

22 'And it came to pass, that the poor man died, and that he was carried away by the messengers to the bosom of Abraham — and the rich man also died, and was buried;
“Ohiani no wuiɛ maa abɔfoɔ bɛfaa no kɔtenaa Abraham nkyɛn. Ɔdefoɔ no nso wuiɛ ma wɔsiee no.
23 and in the hades having lifted up his eyes, being in torments, he doth see Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom, (Hadēs g86)
Ɔdefoɔ no wɔ asaman a ne ho yera no no, ɔmaa nʼani so hunuu Lasaro sɛ ɔte Abraham nkyɛn. (Hadēs g86)
24 and having cried, he said, Father Abraham, deal kindly with me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and may cool my tongue, because I am distressed in this flame.
Ɔdefoɔ no teaam sɛ, ‘Agya Abraham, mesrɛ wo, hunu me mmɔbɔ na soma Lasaro na ɔmfa ne nsateaa ano nkɔbɔ nsuo mu mfa mmɛsɔ me tɛkrɛma so, na me ho yera me.’
25 'And Abraham said, Child, remember that thou did receive — thou — thy good things in thy life, and Lazarus in like manner the evil things, and now he is comforted, and thou art distressed;
“Abraham buaa no sɛ, ‘Me ba, kae sɛ wote ewiase no, wodii dɛ na Lasaro dii yea, nanso afei na ɔredi dɛ ɛnna wo nso woredi yea.
26 and besides all these things, between us and you a great chasm is fixed, so that they who are willing to go over from hence unto you are not able, nor do they from thence to us pass through.
Ɛnyɛ yei nko, ɛbɔn kɛseɛ da yɛn ne mo ntam a ɛno enti, wɔn a wɔpɛ sɛ wɔfiri ha ba mo nkyɛn hɔ ne wɔn a wɔpɛ sɛ wɔfiri mo nkyɛn hɔ ba ha no nso rentumi mma.’
27 'And he said, I pray thee, then, father, that thou mayest send him to the house of my father,
“Ɔdefoɔ no sane ka kyerɛɛ Abraham sɛ, ‘Agya, mesrɛ wo, soma Lasaro kɔ mʼagya efie,
28 for I have five brothers, so that he may thoroughly testify to them, that they also may not come to this place of torment.
ɛfiri sɛ, mewɔ nuammarimanom baanum. Ma ɔnkɔbɔ wɔn kɔkɔ sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a wɔn mu biara remma saa ahoyera yi mu bi.’
29 'Abraham saith to him, They have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them;
“Abraham buaa no sɛ, ‘Wɔwɔ nsɛm a Onyankopɔn nam Mose ne adiyifoɔ no so aka enti ma wɔntie na wɔnni so.’
30 and he said, No, father Abraham, but if any one from the dead may go unto them, they will reform.
“Ɔdefoɔ yi kaa bio sɛ, ‘Agya Abraham, deɛ woreka yi wom deɛ, nanso sɛ obi firi asaman ha kɔbɔ wɔn kɔkɔ deɛ a, wɔbɛnu wɔn ho.’ (questioned)
31 And he said to him, If Moses and the prophets they do not hear, neither if one may rise out of the dead will they be persuaded.'
“Abraham buaa sɛ, ‘Sɛ wɔantie deɛ Onyankopɔn nam Mose ne adiyifoɔ no so aka no a, saa ara nso na sɛ obi firi asaman ha kɔkasa kyerɛ wɔn a, wɔrentie no ara no no.’” (questioned)
