Luke 15
1 And all the tax-gatherers and the sinners were coming nigh to him, to hear him,
सभी चुंगी लेनेवाले और पापी लोग प्रभु येशु के प्रवचन सुनने उनके पास आए
2 and the Pharisees and the scribes were murmuring, saying — This one doth receive sinners, and doth eat with them.'
किंतु फ़रीसी और शास्त्री बड़बड़ाने लगे, “यह व्यक्ति पापियों से मित्रता रखते हुए उनके साथ संगति करता है.”
3 And he spake unto them this simile, saying,
इसलिये प्रभु येशु ने उनके सामने यह दृष्टांत प्रस्तुत किया:
4 'What man of you having a hundred sheep, and having lost one out of them, doth not leave behind the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go on after the lost one, till he may find it?
“तुममें से ऐसा कौन होगा, जिसके पास सौ भेड़ें हों और उनमें से एक खो जाए तो वह निन्यानवे को बंजर भूमि में छोड़कर उस खोई हुई को तब तक खोजता न रहेगा, जब तक वह मिल न जाए?
5 and having found, he doth lay [it] on his shoulders rejoicing,
और जब वह उसे मिल जाती है, उसे आनंदपूर्वक कंधों पर लाद लेता है.
6 and having come to the house, he doth call together the friends and the neighbours, saying to them, Rejoice with me, because I found my sheep — the lost one.
घर लौटने पर वह अपने मित्रों और पड़ोसियों को इकट्ठा कर कहता है, ‘मेरे आनंद में सम्मिलित हो जाओ क्योंकि मुझे मेरी खोई हुई भेड़ मिल गई है!’
7 'I say to you, that so joy shall be in the heaven over one sinner reforming, rather than over ninety-nine righteous men, who have no need of reformation.
यह बात याद रखो: पश्चाताप करते हुए एक पापी के लिए उन निन्यानवे धर्मियों की तुलना में स्वर्ग में कहीं अधिक आनंद मनाया जाता है, जिन्हें मन फिराने की ज़रूरत नहीं है.”
8 'Or what woman having ten drachms, if she may lose one drachm, doth not light a lamp, and sweep the house, and seek carefully till that she may find?
“या कौन ऐसी स्त्री होगी, जिसके पास चांदी के दस सिक्के हों और उनमें से एक खो जाए तो वह घर में रोशनी कर घर को बुहारते हुए उस सिक्के को तब तक खोजती न रहेगी जब तक वह मिल नहीं जाता?
9 and having found, she doth call together the female friends and the neighbours, saying, Rejoice with me, for I found the drachm that I lost.
सिक्का मिलने पर वह अपनी पड़ोसिनों और सहेलियों से कहती है, ‘मेरे आनंद में शामिल हो जाओ क्योंकि मेरा खोया हुआ सिक्का मिल गया है.’
10 'So I say to you, joy doth come before the messengers of God over one sinner reforming.'
मैं तुमसे कहता हूं कि स्वर्ग में इसी प्रकार परमेश्वर के दूतों के सामने उस पापी के लिए आनंद मनाया जाता है, जिसने मन फिराया है.”
11 And he said, 'A certain man had two sons,
प्रभु येशु ने आगे कहा, “किसी व्यक्ति के दो पुत्र थे.
12 and the younger of them said to the father, Father, give me the portion of the substance falling to [me], and he divided to them the living.
छोटे पुत्र ने पिता से विनती की, ‘पिताजी, संपत्ति में से मेरा भाग मुझे दे दीजिए.’ इसलिये पिता ने दोनों पुत्रों में अपनी संपत्ति बांट दी.
13 'And not many days after, having gathered all together, the younger son went abroad to a far country, and there he scattered his substance, living riotously;
“शीघ्र ही छोटे पुत्र ने अपने भाग में आई सारी संपत्ति ली और एक दूर देश की ओर चला गया. वहां उसने अपना सारा धन मनमानी जीवनशैली में उड़ा दिया.
14 and he having spent all, there came a mighty famine on that country, and himself began to be in want;
और अब, जब उसका सब कुछ समाप्त हो गया था, सारे देश में भीषण अकाल पड़ा किंतु उसके पास अब कुछ भी बाकी न रह गया था.
15 and having gone on, he joined himself to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him to the fields to feed swine,
इसलिये वह उसी देश के एक नागरिक के यहां चला गया जिसने उसे अपने खेतों में सूअर चराने भेज दिया.
16 and he was desirous to fill his belly from the husks that the swine were eating, and no one was giving to him.
वह सूअरों के चारे से ही अपना पेट भरने के लिए तरस जाता था. कोई भी उसे खाने के लिए कुछ नहीं देता था.
17 'And having come to himself, he said, How many hirelings of my father have a superabundance of bread, and I here with hunger am perishing!
“अपनी परिस्थिति के बारे में होश में आने पर वह विचार करने लगा: ‘मेरे पिता के कितने ही सेवकों को अधिक मात्रा में भोजन उपलब्ध है और यहां मैं भूखा मर रहा हूं!
18 having risen, I will go on unto my father, and will say to him, Father, I did sin — to the heaven, and before thee,
मैं लौटकर अपने पिता के पास जाऊंगा और उनसे कहूंगा: पिताजी! मैंने वे जो स्वर्ग में हैं, उनके विरुद्ध तथा आपके विरुद्ध पाप किया है.
19 and no more am I worthy to be called thy son; make me as one of thy hirelings.
इसके बाद मैं इस योग्य नहीं रह गया कि आपका पुत्र कहलाऊं. अब आप मुझे अपने यहां मज़दूर ही रख लीजिए.’
20 'And having risen, he went unto his own father, and he being yet far distant, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and having ran he fell upon his neck and kissed him;
इसलिये वह उठकर अपने पिता के पास लौट गया. “वह दूर ही था कि पिता ने उसे देख लिया और वह दया से भर गया. वह दौड़कर अपने पुत्र के पास गया और उसे गले लगाकर चूमता रहा.
21 and the son said to him, Father, I did sin — to the heaven, and before thee, and no more am I worthy to be called thy son.
“पुत्र ने पिता से कहा, ‘पिताजी! मैंने स्वर्ग के विरुद्ध तथा आपके प्रति पाप किया है, मैं अब इस योग्य नहीं रहा कि मैं आपका पुत्र कहलाऊं.’
22 'And the father said unto his servants, Bring forth the first robe, and clothe him, and give a ring for his hand, and sandals for the feet;
“किंतु पिता ने अपने सेवकों को आज्ञा दी, ‘बिना देर किए सबसे अच्छे वस्त्र लाकर इसे पहनाओ और इसकी उंगली में अंगूठी और पांवों में जूतियां भी पहनाओ;
23 and having brought the fatted calf, kill [it], and having eaten, we may be merry,
जाकर एक सबसे अच्छे बछड़े से भोजन तैयार करो. चलो, हम सब आनंद मनाएं
24 because this my son was dead, and did live again, and he was lost, and was found; and they began to be merry.
क्योंकि मेरा यह पुत्र मर गया था, अब जीवित हो गया है; यह खो गया था किंतु अब मिल गया है.’ इसलिये वे सभी आनंद से भर गए.
25 'And his elder son was in a field, and as, coming, he drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing,
“उस समय बड़ा बेटा अपने खेतों में काम कर रहा था. जब वह लौटकर घर आ रहा था, पास आने पर उसे संगीत और नाचने की आवाज सुनाई दी.
26 and having called near one of the young men, he was inquiring what these things might be,
उसने एक सेवक को बुलाकर उससे पूछा, ‘यह सब क्या हो रहा है?’
27 and he said to him — Thy brother is arrived, and thy father did kill the fatted calf, because in health he did receive him back.
‘आपका भाई लौट आया है,’ उस सेवक ने उत्तर दिया, ‘और आपके पिता ने सबसे अच्छा बछड़ा लेकर भोज तैयार करवाया है क्योंकि उनका पुत्र उन्हें सकुशल और सुरक्षित मिल गया है.’
28 'And he was angry, and would not go in, therefore his father, having come forth, was entreating him;
“गुस्से में बड़े भाई ने घर के भीतर तक जाना न चाहा. इसलिये उसके पिता ने ही बाहर आकर उससे विनती की.
29 and he answering said to the father, Lo, so many years I do serve thee, and never thy command did I transgress, and to me thou didst never give a kid, that with my friends I might make merry;
उसने अपने पिता को उत्तर दिया, ‘देखिए, इन सभी वर्षों में मैं दास जैसे आपकी सेवा करता रहा हूं और कभी भी आपकी आज्ञा नहीं टाली फिर भी आपने कभी मुझे एक मेमना तक न दिया कि मैं अपने मित्रों के साथ मिलकर आनंद मना सकूं.
30 but when thy son — this one who did devour thy living with harlots — came, thou didst kill to him the fatted calf.
किंतु जब आपका यह पुत्र, जिसने आपकी संपत्ति वेश्याओं पर उड़ा दी, घर लौट आया, तो आपने उसके लिए सबसे अच्छे बछड़े का भोजन बनवाया है!’
31 'And he said to him, Child, thou art always with me, and all my things are thine;
“‘मेरे पुत्र!’ पिता ने कहा, ‘तुम तो सदा से ही मेरे साथ हो. वह सब, जो मेरा है, तुम्हारा ही है.
32 but to be merry, and to be glad, it was needful, because this thy brother was dead, and did live again, he was lost, and was found.'
हमारे लिए आनंद मनाना और हर्षित होना सही ही है क्योंकि तुम्हारा यह भाई, जो मर गया था, अब जीवित हो गया है; वह, जो खो गया था, अब मिल गया है.’”
