Lamentations 3

1 I [am] the man [who] hath seen affliction By the rod of His wrath.

യഹോവയുടെ ക്രോധത്തിന്റെ വടികൊണ്ട് കഷ്ടത അനുഭവിച്ച മനുഷ്യനാണ് ഞാൻ.

2 Me He hath led, and causeth to go [in] darkness, and without light.

അവിടന്നെന്നെ ആട്ടിയകറ്റി എന്നെ വെളിച്ചത്തിലേക്കല്ല, ഇരുട്ടിലേക്കുതന്നെ നടക്കുമാറാക്കി;

3 Surely against me He turneth back, He turneth His hand all the day.

അവിടത്തെ കരം അവിടന്ന് എന്റെനേരേ തിരിച്ചു വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും, ദിവസം മുഴുവനുംതന്നെ.

4 He hath worn out my flesh and my skin. He hath broken my bones.

എന്റെ ത്വക്കും എന്റെ മാംസവും ഉരുകിപ്പൊയ്ക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, എന്റെ അസ്ഥികൾ അവിടന്ന് തകർക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

5 He hath built up against me, And setteth round poverty and weariness.

കയ്‌പിനാലും കഠിനയാതനയാലും അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ ഉപരോധിക്കുകയും എന്നെ വളയുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

6 In dark places He hath caused me to dwell, As the dead of old.

പണ്ടേ മരിച്ചവരെപ്പോലെ അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ ഇരുളിൽ പാർപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

7 He hath hedged me about, and I go not out, He hath made heavy my fetter.

രക്ഷപ്പെടാൻ കഴിയാത്തവിധം അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ ചുറ്റും മതിലുയർത്തി; ഭാരമുള്ള ചങ്ങലകളാൽ അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ തളർത്തിയുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

8 Also when I call and cry out, He hath shut out my prayer.

സഹായത്തിനായി ഞാൻ മുറവിളികൂട്ടിയാലും നിലവിളിച്ചാലും അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ പ്രാർഥനയെ നിഷേധിക്കുന്നു.

9 He hath hedged my ways with hewn work, My paths He hath made crooked.

അവിടന്ന് പാറക്കെട്ടുകളാൽ എന്റെ വഴി അടച്ചു; എന്റെ പാതകൾ അവിടന്ന് ദുർഗമമാക്കി.

10 A bear lying in wait He [is] to me, A lion in secret hiding-places.

ഇരയ്ക്കായി പതുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്ന കരടിയെപ്പോലെ, ഒളിവിടങ്ങളിലെ സിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെ,

11 My ways He is turning aside, and He pulleth me in pieces, He hath made me a desolation.

അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ വഴിയിൽനിന്ന് വലിച്ചിഴച്ച്, ഛിന്നഭിന്നമാക്കി, നിസ്സഹായനായി എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

12 He hath trodden His bow, And setteth me up as a mark for an arrow.

അവിടന്ന് വില്ലുകുലയ്ക്കുകയും അവിടത്തെ അമ്പുകൾ എന്നെ ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

13 He hath caused to enter into my reins The sons of His quiver.

അവിടത്തെ ആവനാഴിയിൽനിന്നുള്ള അമ്പുകളാൽ അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ ഹൃദയം കുത്തിത്തുളച്ചു.

14 I have been a derision to all my people, Their song all the day.

ഞാൻ എന്റെ എല്ലാ ജനത്തിനും പരിഹാസവിഷയമായി; ദിവസംമുഴുവനും പാട്ടിലൂടെ അവർ എന്നെ പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു.

15 He hath filled me with bitter things, He hath filled me [with] wormwood.

അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ കയ്‌പുചീരകൊണ്ടു നിറച്ചു, കാഞ്ഞിരം എനിക്കു കുടിക്കാൻ നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

16 And He breaketh with gravel my teeth, He hath covered me with ashes.

അവിടന്ന് ചരലുകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ പല്ലു തകർത്തു; അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ പൂഴിയിൽ ഇട്ട് ഉരുട്ടുകയും ചെയ്തു.

17 And Thou castest off from peace my soul, I have forgotten prosperity.

എനിക്ക് സമാധാനം നിഷേധിക്കപ്പെട്ടു; ഐശ്വര്യം എന്തെന്ന് ഞാൻ മറന്നുപോയി.

18 And I say, Perished hath my strength and my hope from Jehovah.

അതുകൊണ്ട്, “എന്റെ മഹത്ത്വവും യഹോവയിൽനിന്ന് ഞാൻ പ്രത്യാശിച്ചതെല്ലാംതന്നെ പൊയ്പ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു,” എന്നു ഞാൻ പറയുന്നു.

19 Remember my affliction and my mourning, Wormwood and gall!

എന്റെ കഷ്ടവും എന്റെ ഉഴൽച്ചയും കയ്‌പും കാഞ്ഞിരവും ഞാൻ ഓർക്കുന്നു.

20 Remember well, and bow down doth my soul in me.

ഞാൻ അവയെ നന്നായി ഓർക്കുന്നു, എന്റെ പ്രാണൻ എന്റെയുള്ളിൽ വിഷാദപൂർണമായി.

21 This I turn to my heart — therefore I hope.

എങ്കിലും ഞാൻ ഇത് ഓർക്കും അതുകൊണ്ട് എനിക്ക് പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ട്:

22 The kindnesses of Jehovah! For we have not been consumed, For not ended have His mercies.

യഹോവയുടെ മഹാസ്നേഹംനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടില്ല അവിടത്തെ കരുണകൾ തീർന്നുപോകുന്നില്ല.

23 New every morning, abundant [is] thy faithfulness.

അവ പ്രഭാതംതോറും പുതിയതാകുന്നു; അവിടത്തെ വിശ്വസ്തത വലിയതുമാകുന്നു.

24 My portion [is] Jehovah, hath my soul said, Therefore I hope for Him.

ഞാൻ എന്നോടുതന്നെ പറയുന്നു, “യഹോവ എന്റെ ഓഹരി; അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ അവിടത്തേക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കും.”

25 Good [is] Jehovah to those waiting for Him, To the soul [that] seeketh Him.

തന്നിൽ പ്രത്യാശ അർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവർക്കും തന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവർക്കും യഹോവ നല്ലവൻ;

26 Good! when one doth stay and stand still For the salvation of Jehovah.

രക്ഷ യഹോവയിൽനിന്നും വരുന്നതിനായി ക്ഷമയോടെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നത് നല്ലത്.

27 Good for a man that he beareth a yoke in his youth.

യൗവനത്തിൽത്തന്നെ നുകം ചുമക്കുന്നത് പുരുഷന് നല്ലത്.

28 He sitteth alone, and is silent, For He hath laid [it] upon him.

യഹോവയാണ് അവന്മേൽ ആ നുകം വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് അതിനാൽ അവൻ ഏകാകിയായി നിശ്ശബ്ദനായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

29 He putteth in the dust his mouth, if so be there is hope.

പൂഴിയിൽ അവൻ മുഖം പൂഴ്ത്തട്ടെ; ഒരുപക്ഷേ ഇനിയും പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ടാകും.

30 He giveth to his smiter the cheek, He is filled with reproach.

തന്നെ അടിക്കുന്നവന് അവൻ തന്റെ കവിൾ കാട്ടിക്കൊടുക്കട്ടെ, നിന്ദയാൽ അവൻ നിറയട്ടെ.

31 For the Lord doth not cast off to the age.

കർത്താവ് ആരെയും ശാശ്വതമായി പരിത്യജിക്കുകയില്ല.

32 For though He afflicted, yet He hath pitied, According to the abundance of His kindness.

അവിടന്ന് ദുഃഖംവരുത്തിയാലും, അവിടന്ന് കരുണകാണിക്കും, കാരണം അവിടത്തെ അചഞ്ചലസ്നേഹം അതിശ്രേഷ്ഠമാണ്.

33 For He hath not afflicted with His heart, Nor doth He grieve the sons of men.

മനുഷ്യമക്കൾക്ക് അവിടന്ന് മനഃപൂർവം കഷ്ടതയോ ദുഃഖമോ വരുത്തുന്നില്ല.

34 To bruise under one's feet any bound ones of earth,

ദേശത്തിലെ സകലബന്ധിതരെയും കാൽച്ചുവട്ടിൽ മെതിച്ചാൽ

35 To turn aside the judgment of a man, Over-against the face of the Most High,

അത്യുന്നതന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് തന്റെ അവകാശം നിഷേധിച്ചാൽ

36 To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord hath not approved.

ഒരു മനുഷ്യനു നീതി നിഷേധിച്ചാൽ— കർത്താവ് ഇതൊന്നും കാണുകയില്ലേ.

37 Who [is] this — he hath said, and it is, [And] the Lord hath not commanded [it]?

കർത്താവ് ഉത്തരവു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചിട്ടില്ലെങ്കിൽ, ആരുടെ ആജ്ഞയാണ് നിറവേറ്റപ്പെടുന്നത്?

38 From the mouth of the Most High Go not forth the evils and the good.

അത്യുന്നതന്റെ നാവിൽനിന്നാണല്ലോ വിനാശങ്ങളും നന്മകളും വരുന്നത്?

39 What — sigh habitually doth a living man, A man for his sin?

തന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ ജീവിക്കുന്ന ഏതു മനുഷ്യനും പരാതിപ്പെടുന്നത് എന്തിന്?

40 We search our ways, and investigate, And turn back unto Jehovah.

നമുക്ക് നമ്മുടെ വഴികളെ പരിശോധിച്ച് അവയെ പരീക്ഷിക്കാം, നമുക്ക് യഹോവയിലേക്കു മടങ്ങാം.

41 We lift up our heart on the hands unto God in the heavens.

സ്വർഗത്തിലുള്ള ദൈവത്തിലേക്ക് നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളും കരങ്ങളും ഉയർത്തിക്കൊണ്ടു പറയാം:

42 We — we have transgressed and rebelled, Thou — Thou hast not forgiven.

“ഞങ്ങൾ പാപംചെയ്തു മത്സരിച്ചു അവിടന്ന് ക്ഷമിച്ചതുമില്ല.

43 Thou hast covered Thyself with anger, And dost pursue us; Thou hast slain — Thou hast not pitied.

“അവിടന്ന് കോപം പുതച്ച് ഞങ്ങളെ പിൻതുടർന്നു; ദയയില്ലാതെ അവിടന്ന് കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

44 Thou hast covered Thyself with a cloud, So that prayer doth not pass through.

പ്രാർഥനയൊന്നും കടന്നുവരാതിരിക്കത്തക്കവിധം അവിടന്ന് സ്വയം മേഘംകൊണ്ടു മൂടി.

45 Offscouring and refuse Thou dost make us In the midst of the peoples.

അവിടന്ന് ഞങ്ങളെ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിലെ മാലിന്യവും ചവറും ആക്കി മാറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

46 Opened against us their mouth have all our enemies.

“ഞങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളെല്ലാം ഞങ്ങളുടെനേരേ അവരുടെ വായ് മലർക്കെ തുറന്നു.

47 Fear and a snare hath been for us, Desolation and destruction.

ഞങ്ങൾ ഭീതിയും കെണികളും തകർച്ചയും നാശവും സഹിച്ചു.”

48 Rivulets of water go down my eye, For the destruction of the daughter of my people.

എന്റെ ജനം നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടതിനാൽ എന്റെ മിഴികളിൽനിന്നു കണ്ണുനീർച്ചാലുകൾ ഒഴുകുന്നു.

49 Mine eye is poured out, And doth not cease without intermission,

യഹോവ സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്നു താഴേക്കു നോക്കിക്കാണുവോളം, എന്റെ മിഴികൾ ആശ്വാസമറിയാതെ നിരന്തരം ഒഴുകും.

50 Till Jehovah looketh and seeth from the heavens,

51 My eye affecteth my soul, Because of all the daughters of my city.

എന്റെ നഗരത്തിലെ സകലസ്ത്രീകളും നിമിത്തം ഞാൻ കാണുന്നതെന്തും എനിക്ക് ദുഃഖം വരുത്തുന്നു.

52 Hunted me sore as a bird have my enemies without cause.

കാരണംകൂടാതെ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളായിരുന്നവർ പക്ഷി എന്നപോലെ എന്നെ വേട്ടയാടി.

53 They have cut off in a pit my life, And they cast a stone against me.

ഒരു കുഴിയിൽ എന്റെ ജീവിതം അവസാനിപ്പിക്കാൻ അവർ ശ്രമിച്ചു, എന്റെനേരേ കല്ലുകൾ എറിയുകയും ചെയ്തു;

54 Flowed have waters over my head, I have said, I have been cut off.

വെള്ളം എന്റെ തലയ്ക്കുമീതേ കവിഞ്ഞു ഞാൻ നശിക്കാൻ പോകുകയാണ് എന്നുകരുതി.

55 I called Thy name, O Jehovah, from the lower pit.

യഹോവേ, കുഴിയുടെ ആഴങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് ഞാൻ അങ്ങയുടെ നാമം വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

56 My voice Thou hast heard, Hide not Thine ear at my breathing — at my cry.

“ആശ്വാസത്തിനുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള എന്റെ നിലവിളിക്ക് അവിടത്തെ ചെവി അടയ്ക്കരുതേ,” എന്ന എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ അവിടന്ന് കേട്ടു.

57 Thou hast drawn near in the day I call Thee, Thou hast said, Fear not.

ഞാൻ വിളിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവിടന്ന് അരികെവന്നു, അവിടന്ന് കൽപ്പിച്ചു, “ഭയപ്പെടരുത്.”

58 Thou hast pleaded, O Lord, the pleadings of my soul, Thou hast redeemed my life.

കർത്താവേ, അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം ഏറ്റെടുത്ത് എന്റെ ജീവനെ അവിടന്ന് വീണ്ടെടുത്തു.

59 Thou hast seen, O Jehovah, my overthrow, Judge Thou my cause.

യഹോവേ, എന്നോടുള്ള അന്യായം അവിടന്ന് കണ്ടു. എന്റെ ന്യായം ഉയർത്തണമേ!

60 Thou hast seen all their vengeance, All their thoughts of me.

അവരുടെ പ്രതികാരത്തിന്റെ ആഴവും എനിക്കെതിരേയുള്ള അവരുടെ ഗൂഢാലോചനകളും അവിടന്ന് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

61 Thou hast heard their reproach, O Jehovah, All their thoughts against me,

യഹോവേ, അവരുടെ ശകാരങ്ങളും എനിക്കെതിരേയുള്ള അവരുടെ എല്ലാ ഗൂഢാലോചനകളും,

62 The lips of my withstanders, Even their meditation against me all the day.

ദിവസംമുഴുവനുമുള്ള എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ അടക്കംപറച്ചിലും പിറുപിറുപ്പും അവിടന്ന് കേട്ടുവല്ലോ.

63 Their sitting down, and their rising up, Behold attentively, I [am] their song.

അവരെ നോക്കണമേ! അവർ ഇരുന്നാലും എഴുന്നേറ്റാലും അവരുടെ പാട്ടിലൂടെ എന്നെ പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു.

64 Thou returnest to them the deed, O Jehovah, According to the work of their hands.

അവരുടെ കൈകൾ ചെയ്തത് അനുസരിച്ച് യഹോവേ, അർഹിക്കുന്നത് അവർക്ക് പകരംനൽകണമേ.

65 Thou givest to them a covered heart, Thy curse to them.

അവരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിൽ ഒരു മൂടുപടം വിരിക്കണമേ, അവിടത്തെ ശാപം അവരുടെമേൽ വരട്ടെ!

66 Thou pursuest in anger, and destroyest them, From under the heavens of Jehovah!

കോപത്തോടെ അവരെ പിൻതുടർന്ന് അവരെ നശിപ്പിക്കണമേ, യഹോവയുടെ ആകാശത്തിനു കീഴിൽനിന്നുതന്നെ.
