< Lamentations 3 >

1 I [am] the man [who] hath seen affliction By the rod of His wrath.
Mwen se moun ki te wè afliksyon akoz baton kòlè Li a.
2 Me He hath led, and causeth to go [in] darkness, and without light.
Li te mennen mwen, e te fè m mache nan tenèb, pa nan limyè.
3 Surely against me He turneth back, He turneth His hand all the day.
Anverite, li te vire men L kont mwen plizyè fwa, tout jounen an.
4 He hath worn out my flesh and my skin. He hath broken my bones.
Li te fè chè m ak po m vin epwize sòti sou mwen, Li te kase zo m yo.
5 He hath built up against me, And setteth round poverty and weariness.
Li te jennen mwen e te antoure m ak ametim ak difikilte.
6 In dark places He hath caused me to dwell, As the dead of old.
Nan kote ki fènwa, li te fè m abite, tankou sila ki fin mouri lontan yo.
7 He hath hedged me about, and I go not out, He hath made heavy my fetter.
Li te antoure m anndan pou m pa ka sòti. Li te fè chenn mwen an byen lou.
8 Also when I call and cry out, He hath shut out my prayer.
Menm lè m kriye e rele sekou, Li fèmen lapriyè m deyò.
9 He hath hedged my ways with hewn work, My paths He hath made crooked.
Li te bloke wout mwen yo ak wòch taye. Li te fè chemen mwen yo vin kwochi.
10 A bear lying in wait He [is] to me, A lion in secret hiding-places.
Li pou mwen tankou yon lous ki kouche ap tann, tankou yon lyon nan kote an kachèt.
11 My ways He is turning aside, and He pulleth me in pieces, He hath made me a desolation.
Li te detounen tout chemen mwen yo e Li te chire mwen an mòso; Li te fè m vin dezole nèt.
12 He hath trodden His bow, And setteth me up as a mark for an arrow.
Li te koube banza Li, e Li te chwazi m kon pwen final pou flèch Li.
13 He hath caused to enter into my reins The sons of His quiver.
Li te fè flèch nan fouwo L yo antre nan ren mwen.
14 I have been a derision to all my people, Their song all the day.
Mwen te vin yon rizib pou tout pèp mwen an, chante giyonnen yo sonnen tout lajounen.
15 He hath filled me with bitter things, He hath filled me [with] wormwood.
Li te plen mwen ak anmetim. Li te fè m sou ak dlo absent.
16 And He breaketh with gravel my teeth, He hath covered me with ashes.
Li te kase dan m ak gravye. Li fè m kache nan pousyè.
17 And Thou castest off from peace my soul, I have forgotten prosperity.
Nanm mwen p ap jwenn lapè ankò. Bonè vin bliye pou mwen.
18 And I say, Perished hath my strength and my hope from Jehovah.
Konsa mwen di: “Fòs mwen fin peri, ansanm ak espwa m ki sòti nan SENYÈ a.”
19 Remember my affliction and my mourning, Wormwood and gall!
Sonje soufrans mwen ak mizè mwen an; dlo absent ak anmetim ki nan kè m nan.
20 Remember well, and bow down doth my soul in me.
Anverite, nanm mwen sonje yo. Li vin koube anndan mwen.
21 This I turn to my heart — therefore I hope.
Men sa mwen sonje nan tèt mwen; pou sa, mwen gen espwa.
22 The kindnesses of Jehovah! For we have not been consumed, For not ended have His mercies.
Lamou dous SENYÈ a, anvèrite, p ap janm sispann, paske mizerikòd Li p ap janm manke.
23 New every morning, abundant [is] thy faithfulness.
Yo renouvle chak maten. Gran se fidelite Ou.
24 My portion [is] Jehovah, hath my soul said, Therefore I hope for Him.
“SENYÈ a se pòsyon mwen.” Se sa nanm mwen di m. Konsa, mwen mete espwa m nan Li.
25 Good [is] Jehovah to those waiting for Him, To the soul [that] seeketh Him.
SENYÈ a montre dousè Li a sila ki tann Li yo, a moun ki chache Li a.
26 Good! when one doth stay and stand still For the salvation of Jehovah.
Se bon pou yon nonm gen espwa, e tann byen trankil pou sali SENYÈ a.
27 Good for a man that he beareth a yoke in his youth.
Se bon pou yon nonm pote jouk la nan jenès li.
28 He sitteth alone, and is silent, For He hath laid [it] upon him.
Kite li chita apa pou kont li, e rete an silans, akoz Li te poze sa sou li.
29 He putteth in the dust his mouth, if so be there is hope.
Kite li mete bouch li nan pousyè, si se konsa, pou l ka gen espwa.
30 He giveth to his smiter the cheek, He is filled with reproach.
Kite li lonje machwè li, bay sila k ap frape l la. Kite li ranpli ak repwòch.
31 For the Lord doth not cast off to the age.
Paske se pa pou tout tan ke Senyè a ap rejte.
32 For though He afflicted, yet He hath pitied, According to the abundance of His kindness.
Paske malgre se gwo doulè ke Li fè rive; alò, Li va gen mizerikòd selon gran lanmou dous Li a.
33 For He hath not afflicted with His heart, Nor doth He grieve the sons of men.
Paske se pa ak kè kontan ke Li aflije, oswa pou atriste fis a lòm yo.
34 To bruise under one's feet any bound ones of earth,
Pou kraze anba pye, tout prizonye nan mond la,
35 To turn aside the judgment of a man, Over-against the face of the Most High,
pou retire jistis sou yon nonm nan prezans a Pi Wo a,
36 To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord hath not approved.
pou fè yon nonm tò nan pwosè legal pa li, sou bagay sa yo, Senyè a p ap dakò.
37 Who [is] this — he hath said, and it is, [And] the Lord hath not commanded [it]?
Se kilès li ye ki pale, e sa vin rive, amwenske Senyè a te pase lòd la?
38 From the mouth of the Most High Go not forth the evils and the good.
Èske sa ki bon ak sa ki mal pa soti nan bouch a Pi Wo a?
39 What — sigh habitually doth a living man, A man for his sin?
Poukisa yon nonm vivan dwe plenyen, yon nonmta plenyen lè l resevwa pinisyon pou pwòp peche l yo?
40 We search our ways, and investigate, And turn back unto Jehovah.
Annou egzamine e sonde wout nou yo pou nou retounen kote SENYÈ a.
41 We lift up our heart on the hands unto God in the heavens.
Annou leve kè nou ak men nou vè Bondye nan syèl la;
42 We — we have transgressed and rebelled, Thou — Thou hast not forgiven.
Nou te peche e nou te fè rebèl; Ou pa t padone.
43 Thou hast covered Thyself with anger, And dost pursue us; Thou hast slain — Thou hast not pitied.
Ou te kouvri nou ak kòlè e te kouri dèyè nou. Ou te touye. Ou pa t gen pitye menm.
44 Thou hast covered Thyself with a cloud, So that prayer doth not pass through.
Ou te kouvri tèt Ou ak yon nwaj lakolè, pou okenn lapriyè pa ka pase ladann.
45 Offscouring and refuse Thou dost make us In the midst of the peoples.
Ou fè nou kon poupou bèt ak fatra ki rejte nan mitan lòt nasyon yo.
46 Opened against us their mouth have all our enemies.
Tout lènmi nou yo te ouvri bouch yo laj kont nou.
47 Fear and a snare hath been for us, Desolation and destruction.
Sezisman ak pyèj tonbe sou nou, ravaj ak destriksyon.
48 Rivulets of water go down my eye, For the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Zye m koule nèt ak flèv dlo akoz destriksyon a fi a pèp mwen an.
49 Mine eye is poured out, And doth not cease without intermission,
Zye m koule san sès, san rete menm pou yon ti moman,
50 Till Jehovah looketh and seeth from the heavens,
jiskaske SENYÈ a gade anba soti nan wotè syèl la pou wè.
51 My eye affecteth my soul, Because of all the daughters of my city.
Zye m pote doulè rive nan nanm mwen, akoz tout fi nan vil mwen.
52 Hunted me sore as a bird have my enemies without cause.
Lènmi m yo san koz te fè lachas dèyè m tankou zwazo. Se lènmi m san koz.
53 They have cut off in a pit my life, And they cast a stone against me.
Yo te fè m rete an silans nan twou fòs la e te poze yon wòch sou mwen.
54 Flowed have waters over my head, I have said, I have been cut off.
Dlo yo te koule depase tèt mwen. Mwen te di: “Mwen fin koupe retire nèt”!
55 I called Thy name, O Jehovah, from the lower pit.
Mwen te rele non Ou, O SENYÈ, depi nan twou fòs pi ba a.
56 My voice Thou hast heard, Hide not Thine ear at my breathing — at my cry.
Ou te tande vwa m: pa kache zòrèy W de lapriyè mwen pou sekou, ak kriyè mwen an.
57 Thou hast drawn near in the day I call Thee, Thou hast said, Fear not.
Ou te vin rapwoche lè m te rele Ou a. Ou te di: “Pa pè!”
58 Thou hast pleaded, O Lord, the pleadings of my soul, Thou hast redeemed my life.
O Senyè, Ou te plede ka pou nanm mwen an. Ou te rachte lavi mwen.
59 Thou hast seen, O Jehovah, my overthrow, Judge Thou my cause.
O SENYÈ, Ou te wè jan m oprime. Jije ka m nan.
60 Thou hast seen all their vengeance, All their thoughts of me.
Ou te wè tout vanjans pa yo; tout manèv yo kont mwen.
61 Thou hast heard their reproach, O Jehovah, All their thoughts against me,
Ou te tande repwòch yo, O SENYÈ, tout manèv yo kont mwen.
62 The lips of my withstanders, Even their meditation against me all the day.
Lèv a sila k ap atake m yo ak konplo yo kont mwen tout lajounen.
63 Their sitting down, and their rising up, Behold attentively, I [am] their song.
Gade jan yo chita ak jan yo leve; se mwen ki sijè chan giyonnen yo a.
64 Thou returnest to them the deed, O Jehovah, According to the work of their hands.
Ou va rekonpanse yo, O SENYÈ, selon zèv men yo.
65 Thou givest to them a covered heart, Thy curse to them.
Ou va bay yo yon kè ki di; madichon pa yo va sou yo.
66 Thou pursuest in anger, and destroyest them, From under the heavens of Jehovah!
Ou va kouri dèyè yo nan kòlè Ou e detwi yo soti anba syèl SENYÈ a!
