Judges 10
1 And there riseth after Abimelech, to save Israel, Tola son of Puah, son of Dodo, a man of Issachar, and he is dwelling in Shamir, in the hill-country of Ephraim,
Après Abimélec, Tolah fils de Puah, fils de Dodo, homme d'Issacar, fut suscité pour délivrer Israël, et il habitait à Samir en la montagne d'Ephraïm.
2 and he judgeth Israel twenty and three years, and he dieth, and is buried in Shamir.
Et il jugea Israël vingt-trois ans, puis il mourut, et fut enseveli à Samir.
3 And there riseth after him Jair the Gileadite, and he judgeth Israel twenty and two years,
Après lui fut suscité Jaïr Galaadite, qui jugea Israël vingt-deux ans.
4 and he hath thirty sons riding on thirty ass-colts, and they have thirty cities, (they call them Havoth-Jair unto this day), which [are] in the land of Gilead;
Et il eut trente fils, qui montaient sur trente ânons, et qui avaient trente villes, qu'on appelle les villes de Jaïr jusqu'à ce jour, lesquelles sont au pays de Galaad.
5 and Jair dieth, and is buried in Kamon.
Et Jaïr mourut, et fut enseveli à Kamon.
6 And the sons of Israel add to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and serve the Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Aram, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the Bene-Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsake Jehovah, and have not served Him;
Puis les enfants d'Israël recommencèrent à faire ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel, et servirent les Bahalins, et Hastaroth, savoir, les dieux de Syrie, les dieux de Sidon, les dieux de Moab, les dieux des enfants de Hammon, et les dieux des Philistins; et ils abandonnèrent l'Eternel, et ne le servaient plus.
7 and the anger of Jehovah burneth against Israel, and He selleth them into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the Bene-Ammon,
Alors la colère de l'Eternel s'enflamma contre Israël, et il les vendit en la main des Philistins, et en la main des enfants de Hammon;
8 and they crush and oppress the sons of Israel in that year — eighteen years all the sons of Israel [who] are beyond the Jordan, in the land of the Amorite, which [is] in Gilead.
Qui opprimèrent et foulèrent les enfants d'Israël cette année-là, qui était la dix-huitième; [savoir] tous les enfants d'Israël, qui étaient au-delà du Jourdain au pays des Amorrhéens, qui est en Galaad.
9 And the Bene-Ammon pass over the Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim, and Israel hath great distress.
Même les enfants de Hammon passèrent le Jourdain pour combattre aussi contre Juda, et contre Benjamin, et contre la maison d'Ephraïm; et Israël fut fort serré.
10 And the sons of Israel cry unto Jehovah, saying, 'We have sinned against Thee, even because we have forsaken our God, and serve the Baalim.'
Alors les enfants d'Israël crièrent à l'Eternel, en disant: Nous avons péché contre toi, et certes nous avons abandonné notre Dieu, et nous avons servi les Bahalins.
11 And Jehovah saith unto the sons of Israel, '[Have I] not [saved you] from the Egyptians, and from the Amorite, from the Bene-Ammon, and from the Philistines?
Mais l'Eternel répondit aux enfants d'Israël: N'avez-vous pas été opprimés par les Egyptiens, les Amorrhéens, les enfants de Hammon, les Philistins,
12 And the Zidonians, and Amalek, and Maon have oppressed you, and ye cry unto Me, and I save you out of their hand;
Les Sidoniens, les Hamalécites, et les Mahonites? cependant quand vous avez crié vers moi, je vous ai délivrés de leurs mains.
13 and ye — ye have forsaken Me, and serve other gods, therefore I add not to save you.
Mais vous m'avez abandonné, et vous avez servi d'autres dieux; c'est pourquoi je ne vous délivrerai plus.
14 Go and cry unto the gods on which ye have fixed; they — they save you in the time of your adversity.'
Allez, et criez aux dieux que vous avez choisis; qu'ils vous délivrent au temps de votre détresse.
15 And the sons of Israel say unto Jehovah, 'We have sinned, do Thou to us according to all that is good in Thine eyes; only deliver us, we pray Thee, this day.'
Mais les enfants d'Israël répondirent à l'Eternel: Nous avons péché, fais-nous, comme il te semblera bon; nous te prions seulement que tu nous délivres aujourd'hui.
16 And they turn aside the gods of the stranger out of their midst, and serve Jehovah, and His soul is grieved with the misery of Israel.
Alors ils ôtèrent du milieu d'eux les dieux des étrangers, et servirent l'Eternel, qui fut touché en son cœur de l'affliction d'Israël.
17 And the Bene-Ammon are called together, and encamp in Gilead, and the sons of Israel are gathered together, and encamp in Mizpah.
Or les enfants de Hammon s'assemblèrent, et se campèrent en Galaad; et les enfants d'Israël aussi s'assemblèrent, et se campèrent à Mitspa.
18 And the people — heads of Gilead — say one unto another, 'Who [is] the man that doth begin to fight against the Bene-Ammon? he is for head to all inhabitants of Gilead.'
Et le peuple, [et] les principaux de Galaad dirent l'un à l'autre: Qui sera l'homme qui commencera à combattre contre les enfants de Hammon? il sera pour chef à tous les habitants de Galaad.
