Joshua 21
1 And the heads of the fathers of the Levites draw nigh unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel,
Och huvudmännen för leviternas familjer trädde fram inför prästen Eleasar och Josua, Nuns son, och huvudmännen för familjerna inom Israels barns stammar
2 and they speak unto them in Shiloh, in the land of Canaan, saying, 'Jehovah commanded by the hand of Moses to give to us cities to dwell in, and their suburbs for our cattle.'
och talade till dem i Silo i Kanaans land, och sade: "HERREN bjöd genom Mose att man skulle giva oss städer att bo i, med tillhörande utmarker för vår boskap."
3 And the sons of Israel give to the Levites, out of their inheritance, at the command of Jehovah, these cities and their suburbs:
Så gåvo då Israels barn, efter HERRES befallning, av sina arvslotter åt leviterna följande städer med tillhörande utmarker.
4 And the lot goeth out for the families of the Kohathite, and there are for the sons of Aaron the priest (of the Levites), out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, by lot thirteen cities,
För kehatiternas släkter föll lotten ut så, att bland dessa leviter prästen Arons söner genom lotten fingo ur Juda stam, ur simeoniternas stam och ur Benjamins stam tretton städer.
5 and for the sons of Kohath who are left, out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half of the tribe of Manasseh, by lot ten cities:
Och Kehats övriga barn fingo genom lotten ur Efraims stams släkter, ur Dans stam och ur ena hälften av Manasse stam tio städer.
6 And for the sons of Gershon [are], out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, by lot, thirteen cities.
Gersons barn åter fingo genom lotten ur Isaskars stams släkter, ur Asers stam, ur Naftali stam och ur andra hälften av Manasse stam, i Basan, tretton städer.
7 For the sons of Merari, for their families, [are], out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
Meraris barn fingo, efter sina släkter, ur Rubens stam, ur Gads stam och ur Sebulons stam tolv städer.
8 And the sons of Israel give to the Levites these cities and their suburbs, as Jehovah commanded by the hand of Moses, by lot.
Israels barn gåvo nu åt leviterna dessa städer med tillhörande utmarker, genom lottkastning, såsom HERREN hade bjudit genom Mose.
9 And they give out of the tribe of the sons of Judah, and out of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, these cities which are called by name;
Ur Juda barns stam och ur Simeons barns stam gav man följande här namngivna städer:
10 and they are for the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathite, of the sons of Levi, for theirs hath been the first lot;
Bland kehatiternas släkter bland Levi barn fingo Arons söner följande, ty dem träffade lotten först:
11 and they give to them the city of Arba father of Anak (it [is] Hebron), in the hill-country of Judah, and its suburbs round about it;
Man gav dem Arbas, Anoks faders, stad, det är Hebron, i Juda bergsbygd, med dess utmarker runt omkring.
12 and the field of the city and its villages they have given to Caleb son of Jephunneh for his possession.
Men åkerjorden och byarna som hörde till staden gav man till besittning åt Kaleb, Jefunnes son.
13 And to the sons of Aaron the priest they have given the city of refuge [for] the man-slayer, Hebron and its suburbs, and Libnah and its suburbs,
Åt prästen Arons söner gav man alltså dråparfristaden Hebron med dess utmarker, vidare Libna med dess utmarker,
14 and Jattir and its suburbs, and Eshtemoa and its suburbs,
Jattir med dess utmarker, Estemoa med dess utmarker,
15 and Holon and its suburbs, and Debir and its suburbs,
Holon med dess utmarker, Debir med dess utmarker,
16 and Ain and its suburbs, and Juttah and its suburbs, Beth-Shemesh and its suburbs; nine cities out of these two tribes.
Ain med dess utmarker, Jutta med dess utmarker och Bet-Semes med dess utmarker -- nio städer ur dessa två stammar;
17 And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon and its suburbs, Geba and its suburbs,
och ur Benjamins stam Gibeon med dess utmarker, Geba med dess utmarker,
18 Anathoth and its suburbs, and Almon and its suburbs — four cities;
Anatot med dess utmarker och Almon med dess utmarker -- fyra städer.
19 all the cities of the sons of Aaron the priests, [are] thirteen cities and their suburbs.
De städer som Arons söner, prästerna, fingo utgjorde alltså tillsammans tretton städer, med tillhörande utmarker.
20 And for the families of the sons of Kohath, the Levites, who are left of the sons of Kohath, even the cities of their lot are of the tribe of Ephraim;
Och Kehats barns släkter av leviterna, nämligen de övriga Kehats barn, fingo ur Efraims stam följande städer, som lotten bestämde åt dem:
21 and they give to them the city of refuge [for] the man-slayer, Shechem and its suburbs, in the hill-country of Ephraim, and Gezer and its suburbs,
Man gav dem dråparfristaden Sikem med dess utmarker i Efraims bergsbygd, Geser med dess utmarker,
22 and Kibzaim and its suburbs, and Beth-Horon and its suburbs — four cities.
Kibsaim med dess utmarker och Bet-Horon med dess utmarker -- fyra städer;
23 And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh and its suburbs, Gibbethon and its suburbs,
och ur Dans stam Elteke med dess utmarker, Gibbeton med dess utmarker,
24 Aijalon and its suburbs, Gath-Rimmon and its suburbs — four cities.
Ajalon med dess utmarker och Gat-Rimmon med dess utmarker -- fyra städer;
25 And out of the half of the tribe of Manasseh, Taanach and its suburbs, and Gath-Rimmon and its suburbs — two cities;
och ur ena hälften av Manasse stam Taanak med dess utmarker och Gat-Rimmon med dess utmarker -- två städer.
26 all the cities [are] ten and their suburbs, for the families of the sons of Kohath who are left.
De städer som de övriga Kehats barns släkter fingo utgjorde alltså tillsammans tio, med tillhörande utmarker.
27 And for the sons of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the half of the tribe of Manasseh, the city of refuge [for] the man-slayer, Golan in Bashan and its suburbs, and Beeshterah and its suburbs — two cities.
Bland leviternas släkter fingo vidare Gersons barn ur ena hälften av Manasse stam dråparfristaden Golan i Basan med dess utmarker och Beestera med dess utmarker -- två städer;
28 And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon and its suburbs, Dabarath and its suburbs,
och ur Isaskars stam Kisjon med dess utmarker, Dobrat med dess utmarker,
29 Jarmuth and its suburbs, En-Gannim and its suburbs — four cities.
Jarmut med dess utmarker och En-Gannim med dess utmarker -- fyra städer;
30 And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal and its suburbs, Abdon and its suburbs,
och ur Asers stam Miseal med dess utmarker, Abdon med dess utmarker,
31 Helkath and its suburbs, and Rehob and its suburbs — four cities.
Helkat med dess utmarker och Rehob med dess utmarker -- fyra städer;
32 And out of the tribe of Naphtali, the city of refuge [for] the man-slayer, Kedesh in Galilee and its suburbs, and Hammoth-Dor and its suburbs, and Kartan and its suburbs — three cities;
och ur Naftali stam dråparfristaden Kedes i Galileen med dess utmarker, Hammot-Dor med dess utmarker och Kartan med dess utmarker -- tre städer.
33 all the cities of the Gershonite, for their families, [are] thirteen cities and their suburbs.
Gersoniternas städer, efter deras släkter, utgjorde alltså tillsammans tretton städer, med tillhörande utmarker.
34 And for the families of the sons of Merari, the Levites, who are left, [are, ] out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam and its suburbs, Kartah and its suburbs,
Och de övriga leviterna, Meraris barns släkter, fingo ur Sebulons stam Jokneam med dess utmarker, Karta med dess utmarker,
35 Dimnah and its suburbs, Nahalal and its suburbs — four cities.
Dimna med dess utmarker och Nahalal med dess utmarker -- fyra städer.
36 And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer and its suburbs, and Jahazah and its suburbs,
37 Kedemoth and its suburbs, and Mephaath and its suburbs — four cities.
38 And out of the tribe of Gad, the city of refuge [for] the man-slayer, Ramoth in Gilead and its suburbs, and Mahanaim and its suburbs,
och ur Gads stam dråparfristaden Ramot i Gilead med dess utmarker, Mahanaim med dess utmarker,
39 Heshbon and its suburbs, Jazer and its suburbs — [in] all four cities.
Hesbon med dess utmarker och Jaeser med dess utmarker -- tillsammans fyra städer.
40 All the cities for the sons of Merari, for their families, who are left of the families of the Levites — their lot is twelve cities.
De städer som dessa de övriga leviternas släkter, Meraris barn, fingo på sin lott, efter sina släkter, utgjorde alltså tillsammans tolv städer.
41 All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the sons of Israel [are] forty and eight cities, and their suburbs.
Tillsammans utgjorde levitstäderna inom Israels barns besittningsområde fyrtioåtta städer med tillhörande utmarker.
42 These cities are each city and its suburbs round about it; so to all these cities.
Var och en av dessa städer skulle bestå av själva staden och tillhörande utmarker runt omkring. Så var det med alla dessa städer.
43 And Jehovah giveth to Israel the whole of the land which He hath sworn to give to their fathers, and they possess it, and dwell in it;
Så gav då HERREN åt Israel hela det land som han med ed hade lovat giva åt deras fäder; och de togo det i besittning och bosatte sig där.
44 and Jehovah giveth rest to them round about, according to all that which He hath sworn to their fathers, and there hath not stood a man in their presence of all their enemies, the whole of their enemies hath Jehovah given into their hand;
Och HERREN lät dem hava ro på alla sidor, alldeles såsom han med ed hade lovat deras fäder; och ingen av deras fiender kunde stå dem emot, utan HERREN gav alla deras fiender i deras hand.
45 there hath not fallen a thing of all the good thing which Jehovah spake unto the house of Israel — the whole hath come.
Intet uteblev av allt det goda som HERREN hade lovat Israels hus; det gick allt i fullbordan.
