Joshua 13
1 And Joshua is old, entering into days, and Jehovah saith unto him, 'Thou hast become aged, thou hast entered into days; as to the land, very much hath been left to possess.
Or, Josué était vieux et avancé en âge; et l'Éternel lui dit: Tu es devenu vieux, tu es avancé en âge, et il reste beaucoup de pays à soumettre.
2 'This [is] the land that is left; all the circuits of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,
Voici le pays qui reste: Tous les districts des Philistins, et tout le territoire des Gueshuriens,
3 from Sihor which [is] on the front of Egypt, and unto the border of Ekron northward, to the Canaanite it is reckoned, five princes of the Philistines, the Gazathite, and the Ashdothite, the Eshkalonite, the Gittite, and the Ekronite, also the Avim.
Depuis le Shichor, qui coule en face de l'Égypte, jusqu'à la frontière d'Ékron, vers le nord; contrée réputée cananéenne, appartenant aux cinq gouverneurs des Philistins, celui de Gaza, celui d'Asdod, celui d'Askélon, celui de Gath, celui d'Ékron, et les Avviens;
4 'From the south, all the land of the Canaanite, and Mearah, which [is] to the Sidonians, unto Aphek, unto the border of the Amorite;
Du côté du midi, tout le pays des Cananéens, et Meara, qui est aux Sidoniens, jusqu'à Aphek, jusqu'à la frontière des Amoréens;
5 and the land of the Giblite, and all Lebanon, at the sun-rising, from Baal-Gad under mount Hermon, unto the going in to Hamath:
Le pays des Guibliens, et tout le Liban, vers le soleil levant, depuis Baal-Gad, sous la montagne d'Hermon, jusqu'à l'entrée de Hamath;
6 all the inhabitants of the hill-country, from Lebanon unto Misrephoth-Maim, all the Sidonians: I — I dispossess them before the sons of Israel; only, cause it to fall to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.
Tous les habitants de la montagne, depuis le Liban jusqu'à Misrephoth-Maïm, tous les Sidoniens. C'est moi qui les chasserai devant les enfants d'Israël; partage seulement ce pays par le sort en héritage à Israël, comme je te l'ai commandé.
7 'And now, apportion this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh,' —
Maintenant donc partage ce pays en héritage aux neuf tribus et à la demi-tribu de Manassé.
8 with it the Reubenite, and the Gadite, have received their inheritance, which Moses hath given to them beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses servant of Jehovah hath given to them;
Les Rubénites et les Gadites ont reçu, avec l'autre moitié de la tribu de Manassé, leur héritage, que Moïse leur a donné au delà du Jourdain, à l'orient, comme Moïse, serviteur de l'Éternel, le leur a donné;
9 from Aroer, which [is] on the edge of the brook Arnon, and the city which [is] in the midst of the brook, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dihon,
Depuis Aroër, qui est sur le bord du torrent de l'Arnon, et la ville qui est au milieu du torrent, et tout le plat pays de Médeba jusqu'à Dibon;
10 and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorite, who reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the Bene-Ammon,
Et toutes les villes de Sihon, roi des Amoréens, qui régnait à Hesbon, jusqu'à la frontière des enfants d'Ammon;
11 and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurite, and of the Maachathite, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah;
Et Galaad, et le territoire des Gueshuriens et des Maacathiens, toute la montagne d'Hermon, et tout Bassan, jusqu'à Salca;
12 all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei; he was left of the remnant of the Rephaim, and Moses doth smite them, and dispossess them;
Tout le royaume d'Og, en Bassan, qui régnait à Ashtaroth et à Édréï; il était demeuré de reste des Rephaïm. Moïse les défit, et les déposséda.
13 and the sons of Israel dispossessed not the Geshurite, and the Maachathite; and Geshur and Maachath dwell in the midst of Israel unto this day.
Mais les enfants d'Israël ne dépossédèrent point les Gueshuriens ni les Maacathiens; et les Gueshuriens et les Maacathiens ont habité au milieu d'Israël jusqu'à ce jour.
14 Only, to the tribe of Levi he hath not given an inheritance; fire-offerings of Jehovah, God of Israel, is its inheritance, as He hath spoken to it.
Seulement Moïse ne donna point d'héritage à la tribu de Lévi; les sacrifices faits par le feu à l'Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, voilà son héritage, comme il le lui avait dit.
15 And Moses giveth to the tribe of the sons of Reuben, for their families;
Moïse donna donc une part à la tribu des enfants de Ruben, selon leurs familles;
16 and the border is to them from Aroer, which [is] on the edge of the brook Arnon, and the city which [is] in the midst of the brook, and all the plain by Medeba,
Et leur territoire fut depuis Aroër, qui est sur le bord du torrent de l'Arnon, et la ville qui est au milieu du torrent, et tout le plat pays près de Médeba,
17 Heshbon, and all its cities which [are] in the plain, Dibon, and Bamoth-Baal, and Beth-Baal-Meon,
Hesbon et toutes ses villes, qui sont dans le plat pays, Dibon, et Bamoth-Baal, et Beth-Baal-Meon,
18 and Jahazah, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,
Et Jahats, et Kedémoth, et Méphaath,
19 and Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zareth-Shahar, in the mount of the valley,
Et Kirjathaïm, et Sibma, et Tséreth-Hashachar, sur la montagne de la vallée,
20 and Beth-Peor, and the springs of Pisgah, and Beth-Jeshimoth,
Et Beth-Peor, les pentes du Pisga, et Beth-Jeshimoth,
21 and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorite, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote, with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, princes of Sihon, inhabitants of the land.
Et toutes les villes du plat pays, et tout le royaume de Sihon, roi des Amoréens, qui régnait à Hesbon, que Moïse défit, avec les princes de Madian, Évi, Rékem, Tsur, Hur, et Réba, princes qui relevaient de Sihon et qui habitaient le pays.
22 And Balaam, son of Beor, the diviner, have the sons of Israel slain with the sword, among their wounded ones.
Parmi ceux qui furent tués les enfants d'Israël firent aussi périr par l'épée Balaam, fils de Béor, le devin.
23 And the border of the sons of Reuben is the Jordan, and [its] border; this [is] the inheritance of the sons of Reuben, for their families, the cities and their villages.
Et la frontière des enfants de Ruben fut le Jourdain et son territoire. Tel fut l'héritage des enfants de Ruben, selon leurs familles: les villes et leurs villages.
24 And Moses giveth to the tribe of Gad, to the sons of Gad, for their families;
Moïse donna aussi une part à la tribu de Gad, aux enfants de Gad, selon leurs familles.
25 and the border is to them Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and the half of the land of the Bene-Ammon, unto Aroer which [is] on the front of Rabbah,
Et leur territoire fut Jaezer, toutes les villes de Galaad, et la moitié du pays des enfants d'Ammon, jusqu'à Aroër, qui est en face de Rabba,
26 and from Heshbon unto Ramath-Mispeh, and Betonim, and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir,
Et depuis Hesbon jusqu'à Ramath-Mitspé et Betonim, et depuis Mahanaïm jusqu'à la frontière de Débir;
27 and in the valley, Beth-Aram, and Beth-Nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and [its] border, unto the extremity of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan, eastward.
Et, dans la vallée, Beth-Haram, Beth-Nimra, et Succoth et Tsaphon, reste du royaume de Sihon, roi de Hesbon, le Jourdain et son territoire, jusqu'au bout de la mer de Kinnéreth, au delà du Jourdain, vers l'orient.
28 This [is] the inheritance of the sons of Gad, for their families, the cities and their villages.
Tel fut l'héritage des enfants de Gad, selon leurs familles: les villes et leurs villages.
29 And Moses giveth to the half of the tribe of Manasseh; and it is to the half of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, for their families.
Moïse donna aussi à la demi-tribu de Manassé une part, qui est demeurée à la demi-tribu des enfants de Manassé, selon leurs familles.
30 And their border is from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the small towns of Jair, which [are] in Bashan, sixty cities;
Leur territoire fut depuis Mahanaïm, tout Bassan, tout le royaume d'Og, roi de Bassan, et tous les bourgs de Jaïr en Bassan, soixante villes;
31 and the half of Gilead, and Ashteroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, [are] to the sons of Machir, son of Manasseh, to the half of the sons of Machir, for their families.
Et la moitié de Galaad, Ashtaroth et Édréï, villes du royaume d'Og en Bassan, furent aux enfants de Makir, fils de Manassé, à la moitié des enfants de Makir, selon leurs familles.
32 These [are] they whom Moses caused to inherit in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan, [by] Jericho, eastward;
Voilà ce que Moïse, dans les plaines de Moab, avait donné en héritage, au delà du Jourdain de Jérico, vers l'orient.
33 and to the tribe of Levi Moses gave not an inheritance; Jehovah, God of Israel, Himself [is] their inheritance, as He hath spoken to them.
Mais Moïse ne donna point d'héritage à la tribu de Lévi; c'est l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, qui est leur héritage, comme il le leur avait dit.
