Jonah 2
1 And Jonah prayeth unto Jehovah his God from the bowels of the fish.
Et des entrailles du poisson Jonas pria Yahweh, son Dieu.
2 And he saith: I called, because of my distress, to Jehovah, And He doth answer me, From the belly of sheol I have cried, Thou hast heard my voice. (Sheol h7585)
Il dit: De la détresse où j’étais, j’ai invoqué Yahweh, et il m’a répondu; du ventre du schéol, j’ai crié: tu as entendu ma voix. (Sheol h7585)
3 When Thou dost cast me [into] the deep, Into the heart of the seas, Then the flood doth compass me, All Thy breakers and Thy billows have passed over me.
Tu m’as jeté dans l’abîme, au cœur des mers, et l’onde m’environnait; tous tes flots et toutes tes vagues ont passé sur moi.
4 And I — I said: I have been cast out from before Thine eyes, (Yet I add to look unto Thy holy temple!)
Et moi, je disais: je suis chassé de devant tes yeux; pourtant je contemplerai encore ton saint temple.
5 Compassed me have waters unto the soul, The deep doth compass me, The weed is bound to my head.
Les eaux m’avaient enserré jusqu’à l’âme, l’abîme m’environnait, l’algue encerclait ma tête.
6 To the cuttings of mountains I have come down, The earth, her bars [are] behind me to the age. And Thou bringest up from the pit my life, O Jehovah my God.
J’étais descendu jusqu’aux racines des montagnes; les verrous de la terre [étaient tirés] sur moi pour toujours! Et tu as fait remonter ma vie de la fosse, Yahweh, mon Dieu!
7 In the feebleness within me of my soul Jehovah I have remembered, And come in unto Thee doth my prayer, Unto Thy holy temple.
Quand mon âme défaillait en moi, je me suis souvenu de Yahweh; et ma prière est parvenue [jusqu]’à toi, à ton saint temple.
8 Those observing lying vanities their own mercy forsake.
Ceux qui s’attachent à des vanités futiles abandonnent [l’auteur de]leur grâce.
9 And I — with a voice of thanksgiving — I sacrifice to Thee, That which I have vowed I complete, Salvation [is] of Jehovah.
Mais moi, aux accents de louange, je t’offrirai un sacrifice; le vœu que j’ai fait, je l’accomplirai. A Yahweh est le salut!
10 And Jehovah saith to the fish, and it vomiteth out Jonah on the dry land.
Yahweh parla au poisson, et le poisson vomit Jonas sur la terre.
