John 9
1 And passing by, he saw a man blind from birth,
தத: பரம்’ யீஸு²ர்க³ச்ச²ந் மார்க³மத்⁴யே ஜந்மாந்த⁴ம்’ நரம் அபஸ்²யத்|
2 and his disciples asked him, saying, 'Rabbi, who did sin, this one or his parents, that he should be born blind?'
தத: ஸி²ஷ்யாஸ்தம் அப்ரு’ச்ச²ந் ஹே கு³ரோ நரோயம்’ ஸ்வபாபேந வா ஸ்வபித்ரா: பாபேநாந்தோ⁴(அ)ஜாயத?
3 Jesus answered, 'Neither did this one sin nor his parents, but that the works of God may be manifested in him;
தத: ஸ ப்ரத்யுதி³தவாந் ஏதஸ்ய வாஸ்ய பித்ரோ: பாபாத்³ ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸோ²பூ⁴த³ இதி நஹி கிந்த்வநேந யதே²ஸ்²வரஸ்ய கர்ம்ம ப்ரகாஸ்²யதே தத்³தே⁴தோரேவ|
4 it behoveth me to be working the works of Him who sent me while it is day; night doth come, when no one is able to work: —
தி³நே திஷ்ட²தி மத்ப்ரேரயிது: கர்ம்ம மயா கர்த்தவ்யம்’ யதா³ கிமபி கர்ம்ம ந க்ரியதே தாத்³ரு’ஸீ² நிஸா²க³ச்ச²தி|
5 when I am in the world, I am a light of the world.'
அஹம்’ யாவத்காலம்’ ஜக³தி திஷ்டா²மி தாவத்காலம்’ ஜக³தோ ஜ்யோதி: ஸ்வரூபோஸ்மி|
6 These things saying, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and rubbed the clay on the eyes of the blind man, and said to him,
இத்யுக்த்தா பூ⁴மௌ நிஷ்டீ²வம்’ நிக்ஷிப்ய தேந பங்கம்’ க்ரு’தவாந்
7 'Go away, wash at the pool of Siloam,' which is, interpreted, Sent. He went away, therefore, and did wash, and came seeing;
பஸ்²சாத் தத்பங்கேந தஸ்யாந்த⁴ஸ்ய நேத்ரே ப்ரலிப்ய தமித்யாதி³ஸ²த் க³த்வா ஸி²லோஹே (அ)ர்தா²த் ப்ரேரிதநாம்நி ஸரஸி ஸ்நாஹி| ததோந்தோ⁴ க³த்வா தத்ராஸ்நாத் தத: ப்ரந்நசக்ஷு ர்பூ⁴த்வா வ்யாகு⁴ட்யாகா³த்|
8 the neighbours, therefore, and those seeing him before, that he was blind, said, 'Is not this he who is sitting and begging?'
அபரஞ்ச ஸமீபவாஸிநோ லோகா யே ச தம்’ பூர்வ்வமந்த⁴ம் அபஸ்²யந் தே ப³க்த்தும் ஆரப⁴ந்த யோந்த⁴லோகோ வர்த்மந்யுபவிஸ்²யாபி⁴க்ஷத ஸ ஏவாயம்’ ஜந: கிம்’ ந ப⁴வதி?
9 others said — 'This is he;' and others — 'He is like to him;' he himself said, — 'I am [he].'
கேசித³வத³ந் ஸ ஏவ கேசித³வோசந் தாத்³ரு’ஸோ² ப⁴வதி கிந்து ஸ ஸ்வயமப்³ரவீத் ஸ ஏவாஹம்’ ப⁴வாமி|
10 They said, therefore, to him, 'How were thine eyes opened?'
அதஏவ தே (அ)ப்ரு’ச்ச²ந் த்வம்’ கத²ம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்டிம்’ பாப்தவாந்?
11 he answered and said, 'A man called Jesus made clay, and rubbed my eyes, and said to me, Go away to the pool of Siloam, and wash; and having gone away and having washed, I received sight;'
தத: ஸோவத³த்³ யீஸ²நாமக ஏகோ ஜநோ மம நயநே பங்கேந ப்ரலிப்ய இத்யாஜ்ஞாபயத் ஸி²லோஹகாஸாரம்’ க³த்வா தத்ர ஸ்நாஹி| ததஸ்தத்ர க³த்வா மயி ஸ்நாதே த்³ரு’ஷ்டிமஹம்’ லப்³த⁴வாந்|
12 they said, therefore, to him, 'Where is that one?' he saith, 'I have not known.'
ததா³ தே (அ)வத³ந் ஸ புமாந் குத்ர? தேநோக்த்தம்’ நாஹம்’ ஜாநாமி|
13 They bring him to the Pharisees who once [was] blind,
அபரம்’ தஸ்மிந் பூர்வ்வாந்தே⁴ ஜநே பி²ரூஸி²நாம்’ நிகடம் ஆநீதே ஸதி பி²ரூஸி²நோபி தமப்ரு’ச்ச²ந் கத²ம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்டிம்’ ப்ராப்தோஸி?
14 and it was a sabbath when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
தத: ஸ கதி²தவாந் ஸ பங்கேந மம நேத்ரே (அ)லிம்பத் பஸ்²சாத்³ ஸ்நாத்வா த்³ரு’ஷ்டிமலபே⁴|
15 Again, therefore, the Pharisees also were asking him how he received sight, and he said to them, 'Clay he did put upon my eyes, and I did wash — and I see.'
கிந்து யீஸு² ர்விஸ்²ராமவாரே கர்த்³த³மம்’ க்ரு’த்வா தஸ்ய நயநே ப்ரஸந்நே(அ)கரோத்³ இதிகாரணாத் கதிபயபி²ரூஸி²நோ(அ)வத³ந்
16 Of the Pharisees, therefore, certain said, 'This man is not from God, because the sabbath he doth not keep;' others said, 'How is a man — a sinful one — able to do such signs?' and there was a division among them.
ஸ புமாந் ஈஸ்²வராந்ந யத: ஸ விஸ்²ராமவாரம்’ ந மந்யதே| ததோந்யே கேசித் ப்ரத்யவத³ந் பாபீ புமாந் கிம் ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம் ஆஸ்²சர்ய்யம்’ கர்ம்ம கர்த்தும்’ ஸ²க்நோதி?
17 They said to the blind man again, 'Thou — what dost thou say of him — that he opened thine eyes?'
இத்த²ம்’ தேஷாம்’ பரஸ்பரம்’ பி⁴ந்நவாக்யத்வம் அப⁴வத்| பஸ்²சாத் தே புநரபி தம்’ பூர்வ்வாந்த⁴ம்’ மாநுஷம் அப்ராக்ஷு: யோ ஜநஸ்தவ சக்ஷுஷீ ப்ரஸந்நே க்ரு’தவாந் தஸ்மிந் த்வம்’ கிம்’ வத³ஸி? ஸ உக்த்தவாந் ஸ ப⁴விஸ²த்³வாதீ³|
18 and he said — 'He is a prophet.' The Jews, therefore, did not believe concerning him that he was blind and did receive sight, till that they called the parents of him who received sight,
ஸ த்³ரு’ஷ்டிம் ஆப்தவாந் இதி யிஹூதீ³யாஸ்தஸ்ய த்³ரு’ஷ்டிம்’ ப்ராப்தஸ்ய ஜநஸ்ய பித்ரோ ர்முகா²த்³ அஸ்²ருத்வா ந ப்ரத்யயந்|
19 and they asked them, saying, 'Is your son, of whom ye say that he was born blind? how then now doth he see?'
அதஏவ தே தாவப்ரு’ச்ச²ந் யுவயோ ர்யம்’ புத்ரம்’ ஜந்மாந்த⁴ம்’ வத³த²: ஸ கிமயம்’? தர்ஹீதா³நீம்’ கத²ம்’ த்³ரஷ்டும்’ ஸ²க்நோதி?
20 His parents answered them and said, 'We have known that this is our son, and that he was born blind;
ததஸ்தஸ்ய பிதரௌ ப்ரத்யவோசதாம் அயம் ஆவயோ: புத்ர ஆ ஜநேரந்த⁴ஸ்²ச தத³ப்யாவாம்’ ஜாநீவ:
21 and how he now seeth, we have not known; or who opened his eyes, we have not known; himself is of age, ask him; he himself shall speak concerning himself.'
கிந்த்வது⁴நா கத²ம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்டிம்’ ப்ராப்தவாந் ததா³வாம்’ ந் ஜாநீவ: கோஸ்ய சக்ஷுஷீ ப்ரஸந்நே க்ரு’தவாந் தத³பி ந ஜாநீவ ஏஷ வய: ப்ராப்த ஏநம்’ ப்ரு’ச்ச²த ஸ்வகதா²ம்’ ஸ்வயம்’ வக்ஷ்யதி|
22 These things said his parents, because they were afraid of the Jews, for already had the Jews agreed together, that if any one may confess him — Christ, he may be put out of the synagogue;
யிஹூதீ³யாநாம்’ ப⁴யாத் தஸ்ய பிதரௌ வாக்யமித³ம் அவத³தாம்’ யத: கோபி மநுஷ்யோ யதி³ யீஸு²ம் அபி⁴ஷிக்தம்’ வத³தி தர்ஹி ஸ ப⁴ஜநக்³ரு’ஹாத்³ தூ³ரீகாரிஷ்யதே யிஹூதீ³யா இதி மந்த்ரணாம் அகுர்வ்வந்
23 because of this his parents said — 'He is of age, ask him.'
அதஸ்தஸ்ய பிதரௌ வ்யாஹரதாம் ஏஷ வய: ப்ராப்த ஏநம்’ ப்ரு’ச்ச²த|
24 They called, therefore, a second time the man who was blind, and they said to him, 'Give glory to God, we have known that this man is a sinner;'
ததா³ தே புநஸ்²ச தம்’ பூர்வ்வாந்த⁴ம் ஆஹூய வ்யாஹரந் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய கு³ணாந் வத³ ஏஷ மநுஷ்ய: பாபீதி வயம்’ ஜாநீம: |
25 he answered, therefore, and said, 'If he be a sinner — I have not known, one thing I have known, that, being blind, now I see.'
ததா³ ஸ உக்த்தவாந் ஸ பாபீ ந வேதி நாஹம்’ ஜாநே பூர்வாமந்த⁴ ஆஸமஹம் அது⁴நா பஸ்²யாமீதி மாத்ரம்’ ஜாநாமி|
26 And they said to him again, 'What did he to thee? how did he open thine eyes?'
தே புநரப்ரு’ச்ச²ந் ஸ த்வாம்’ ப்ரதி கிமகரோத்? கத²ம்’ நேத்ரே ப்ரஸந்நே (அ)கரோத்?
27 He answered them, 'I told you already, and ye did not hear; why again do ye wish to hear? do ye also wish to become his disciples?'
தத: ஸோவாதீ³த்³ ஏகக்ரு’த்வோகத²யம்’ யூயம்’ ந ஸ்²ரு’ணுத² தர்ஹி குத: புந: ஸ்²ரோதும் இச்ச²த²? யூயமபி கிம்’ தஸ்ய ஸி²ஷ்யா ப⁴விதும் இச்ச²த²?
28 They reviled him, therefore, and said, 'Thou art his disciple, and we are Moses' disciples;
ததா³ தே தம்’ திரஸ்க்ரு’த்ய வ்யாஹரந் த்வம்’ தஸ்ய ஸி²ஷ்யோ வயம்’ மூஸா: ஸி²ஷ்யா: |
29 we have known that God hath spoken to Moses, but this one — we have not known whence he is.'
மூஸாவக்த்ரேணேஸ்²வரோ ஜகா³த³ தஜ்ஜாநீம: கிந்த்வேஷ குத்ரத்யலோக இதி ந ஜாநீம: |
30 The man answered and said to them, 'Why, in this is a wonderful thing, that ye have not known whence he is, and he opened my eyes!
ஸோவத³த்³ ஏஷ மம லோசநே ப்ரஸந்நே (அ)கரோத் ததா²பி குத்ரத்யலோக இதி யூயம்’ ந ஜாநீத² ஏதத்³ ஆஸ்²சர்ய்யம்’ ப⁴வதி|
31 and we have known that God doth not hear sinners, but, if any one may be a worshipper of God, and may do His will, him He doth hear;
ஈஸ்²வர: பாபிநாம்’ கதா²ம்’ ந ஸ்²ரு’ணோதி கிந்து யோ ஜநஸ்தஸ்மிந் ப⁴க்திம்’ க்ரு’த்வா ததி³ஷ்டக்ரியாம்’ கரோதி தஸ்யைவ கதா²ம்’ ஸ்²ரு’ணோதி ஏதத்³ வயம்’ ஜாநீம: |
32 from the age it was not heard, that any one did open eyes of one who hath been born blind; (aiōn g165)
கோபி மநுஷ்யோ ஜந்மாந்தா⁴ய சக்ஷுஷீ அத³தா³த் ஜக³தா³ரம்பா⁴த்³ ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸீ²ம்’ கதா²ம்’ கோபி கதா³பி நாஸ்²ரு’ணோத்| (aiōn g165)
33 if this one were not from God, he were not able to do anything.'
அஸ்மாத்³ ஏஷ மநுஷ்யோ யதீ³ஸ்²வராந்நாஜாயத தர்ஹி கிஞ்சித³பீத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ கர்ம்ம கர்த்தும்’ நாஸ²க்நோத்|
34 They answered and said to him, 'In sins thou wast born altogether, and thou dost teach us!' and they cast him forth without.
தே வ்யாஹரந் த்வம்’ பாபாத்³ அஜாயதா²: கிமஸ்மாந் த்வம்’ ஸி²க்ஷயஸி? பஸ்²சாத்தே தம்’ ப³ஹிரகுர்வ்வந்|
35 Jesus heard that they cast him forth without, and having found him, he said to him, 'Dost thou believe in the Son of God?'
தத³நந்தரம்’ யிஹூதீ³யை: ஸ ப³ஹிரக்ரியத யீஸு²ரிதி வார்த்தாம்’ ஸ்²ருத்வா தம்’ ஸாக்ஷாத் ப்ராப்ய ப்ரு’ஷ்டவாந் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய புத்ரே த்வம்’ விஸ்²வஸிஷி?
36 he answered and said, 'Who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?'
ததா³ ஸ ப்ரத்யவோசத் ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ ஸ கோ யத் தஸ்மிந்நஹம்’ விஸ்²வஸிமி?
37 And Jesus said to him, 'Thou hast both seen him, and he who is speaking with thee is he;'
ததோ யீஸு²: கதி²தவாந் த்வம்’ தம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்டவாந் த்வயா ஸாகம்’ ய: கத²ம்’ கத²யதி ஸஏவ ஸ: |
38 and he said, 'I believe, sir,' and bowed before him.
ததா³ ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ விஸ்²வஸிமீத்யுக்த்வா ஸ தம்’ ப்ரணாமத்|
39 And Jesus said, 'For judgment I to this world did come, that those not seeing may see, and those seeing may become blind.'
பஸ்²சாத்³ யீஸு²: கதி²தவாந் நயநஹீநா நயநாநி ப்ராப்நுவந்தி நயநவந்தஸ்²சாந்தா⁴ ப⁴வந்தீத்யபி⁴ப்ராயேண ஜக³தா³ஹம் ஆக³ச்ச²ம்|
40 And those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and they said to him, 'Are we also blind?'
ஏதத் ஸ்²ருத்வா நிகடஸ்தா²: கதிபயா: பி²ரூஸி²நோ வ்யாஹரந் வயமபி கிமந்தா⁴: ?
41 Jesus said to them, 'If ye were blind, ye were not having had sin, but now ye say — We see, therefore doth your sin remain.
ததா³ யீஸு²ரவாதீ³த்³ யத்³யந்தா⁴ அப⁴வத தர்ஹி பாபாநி நாதிஷ்ட²ந் கிந்து பஸ்²யாமீதி வாக்யவத³நாத்³ யுஷ்மாகம்’ பாபாநி திஷ்ட²ந்தி|
