< Joel 1 >
1 A word of Jehovah that hath been unto Joel, son of Pethuel:
Ny tenin’ i Jehovah, izay tonga tamin’ i Joela, zanak’ i Petoela.
2 Hear this, ye aged ones, And give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land, Hath this been in your days? Or in the days of your fathers?
Henoy izao, ry anti-panahy! Ary mandrenesa, ianareo mponina rehetra amin’ ny tany! Moa mba efa nisy tamin’ ny andronareo na tamin’ ny andron’ ny razanareo, va izao?
3 Concerning it to your sons talk ye, And your sons to their sons, And their sons to another generation.
Lazao amin’ ny zanakareo izao, ary aoka ny zanakareo hilaza amin’ ny zanany kosa, ary ny zanak’ ireo kosa indray amin’ ny taranaka mandimby azy.
4 What is left of the palmer-worm, eaten hath the locust, And what is left of the locust, Eaten hath the cankerworm, And what is left of the cankerworm, Eaten hath the caterpillar.
Izay sisan’ ny kijeja dia nohanin’ ny koraika; Ary izay sisan’ ny koraika dia nohanin’ ny valalavao: Ary izay sisan’ ny valalavao dia nohanin’ ny sompanga.
5 Awake, ye drunkards, and weep, And howl all drinking wine, because of the juice, For it hath been cut off from your mouth.
Mifohaza, ianareo mpimamo, ka mitomania, eny, midradradradrà, ianareo mpisotro divay rehetra, noho ny ranom-boaloboka, satria tapaka tsy ho amin’ ny vavanareo izany.
6 For a nation hath come up on my land, Strong, and there is no number, Its teeth [are] the teeth of a lion, And it hath the jaw-teeth of a lioness.
Fa misy firenena mahery sady tsy hita isa miakatra hamely ny taniko; Ny nifiny dia nifin-diona, ary ny vazany dia vazan’ ny liom-bavy.
7 It hath made my vine become a desolation, And my fig-tree become a chip, It hath made it thoroughly bare, and hath cast down, Made white have been its branches.
Nataony simba tokoa ny voaloboko, ary notapatapahiny ny aviaviko; Nataony nakiky tokoa ireny ka nariany, eny, tonga fotsy ny rantsany.
8 Wail, as a virgin girdeth with sackcloth, For the husband of her youth.
Midradradradrà toy ny virijina misikindamba fisaonana noho ny amin’ ny vadin’ ny fahatanorany.
9 Cut off hath been present and libation from the house of Jehovah, Mourned have the priests, ministrants of Jehovah.
Efa tapaka tsy ho ao amin’ ny tranon’ i Jehovah ny fanatitra hohanina sy ny fanatitra aidina; Mitomany ny mpisorona, mpanao fanompoam-pivavahana ho an’ i Jehovah.
10 Spoiled is the field, mourned hath the ground, For spoiled is the corn, Dried up hath been new wine, languish doth oil.
Mariry ny saha, misaona ny tany fambolena; Fa simba ny vary, ritra ny ranom-boaloboka, mihena ny diloilo.
11 Be ashamed, ye husbandmen, Howl, vine-dressers, for wheat and for barley, For perished hath the harvest of the field.
Aoka ho menatra ianareo mpiasa tany; midradradradrà, ianareo mpamboatra tanim-boaloboka, noho ny vary tritika sy ny vary hordea; Fa majifa ny vokatry ny saha;
12 The vine hath been dried up, And the fig-tree doth languish, Pomegranate, also palm, and apple-tree, All trees of the field have withered, For dried up hath been joy from the sons of men.
Maina ny voaloboka, malazo ny aviavy, ary malazo koa ny ampongabendanitra sy ny rofia ary ny poma aza, dia ny hazo rehetra any an-tsaha; Eny, malazo ny fifalian’ ny zanak’ olombelona.
13 Gird, and lament, ye priests, Howl, ye ministrants of the altar, Come in, lodge in sackcloth, ministrants of my God, For withheld from the house of your God hath been present and libation.
Misikìna sy mitomania, ianareo mpisorona; midradradradrà, ianareo mpanao fanompoam-pivavahana eo amin’ ny alitara; Andeha mandry amin’ ny lamba fisaonana mandritra ny alina, ianareo mpanao fanompoam-pivavahana ho an’ Andriamanitro, fa tapaka tsy ho ao amin’ ny tranon’ Andriamanitra ny fanatitra hohanina sy ny fanatitra aidina.
14 Sanctify a fast, proclaim a restraint, Gather the elders — all the inhabitants of the land, [Into] the house of Jehovah your God,
Manamasìna andro fifadian-kanina, miantsoa fivoriana masìna, angòny ny loholona sy ny mponina rehetra amin’ ny tany ho ao an-tranon’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrareo, koa andeha mitaraina amin’ i Jehovah.
15 And cry unto Jehovah, 'Alas for the day! For near [is] a day of Jehovah, And as destruction from the mighty it cometh.
Indrisy ny andro! Fa efa antomotra ny andron’ i Jehovah, ka tahaka ny loza tsy toha avy amin’ ny Tsitoha no fihaviny.
16 Is not before our eyes food cut off? From the house of our God joy and rejoicing?
Moa tsy efa tapaka teo imasontsika va ny hanina, eny, ny fifaliana sy ny faharavoravoana tsy ho ao an-tranon’ Andriamanitsika?
17 Rotted have scattered things under their clods, Desolated have been storehouses, Broken down have been granaries, For withered hath the corn.
Matimaso ao ambanin’ ny baingan-tany ny vary nafafy, foana ny sompitra, mirodana ny trano fitehirizam-bary; Fa nalazo ny vary.
18 How have cattle sighed! Perplexed have been droves of oxen, For there is no pasture for them, Also droves of sheep have been desolated.
Indrisy, ny fitoreon’ ny biby! Very hevitra ny omby andiany, satria tsy misy ahitra ho azy; Eny, na dia ny andian’ ny ondry aman’ osy aza dia mijaly noho ny heloka.
19 Unto Thee, O Jehovah, I do call, For fire hath consumed comely places of a wilderness, And a flame hath set on fire all trees of the field.
Jehovah ô, Hianao no itarainako, fa efa levon’ ny afo ny kijana any an-efitra, ary nisy lelafo efa nandoro ny hazo rehetra any an-tsaha.
20 Also the cattle of the field long for Thee, For dried up have been streams of water, And fire hath consumed comely places of a wilderness!'
Na dia ny biby any an-tsaha aza dia mihanahana miandrandra Anao, satria ritra ny renirano, ary efa levon’ ny afo ny kijana any an-efitra.
