< Joel 1 >

1 A word of Jehovah that hath been unto Joel, son of Pethuel:
Daytoy ti sao ni Yahweh nga immay kenni Joel a putot ni Petuel.
2 Hear this, ye aged ones, And give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land, Hath this been in your days? Or in the days of your fathers?
Denggenyo daytoy, dakayo a panglakayen, ken dumngegkayo, dakayo amin nga agnanaed iti daga. Adda kadin kastoy a napasamak iti panawenyo wenno iti panawen dagiti kapuonanyo?
3 Concerning it to your sons talk ye, And your sons to their sons, And their sons to another generation.
Ibagayo kadagiti annakyo ti maipapan iti daytoy, ken ibaganto met dagiti annakyo kadagiti annakda, ken ibaganto met dagiti annakda kadagiti sumaruno a henerasion.
4 What is left of the palmer-worm, eaten hath the locust, And what is left of the locust, Eaten hath the cankerworm, And what is left of the cankerworm, Eaten hath the caterpillar.
Nagsasaruno a pangen ti dudon ti immay nangan kadagiti mula, ti natda ti umuna a pangen dagiti dudon, kinnan dagiti simmaruno a pangen dagiti dudon.
5 Awake, ye drunkards, and weep, And howl all drinking wine, because of the juice, For it hath been cut off from your mouth.
Agriingkayo, dakayo a mammartek, ket agsangitkayo! Aganug-ogkayo, dakayo amin a managinum iti arak, gapu ta naibusankayon kadagiti nasam-it nga arak.
6 For a nation hath come up on my land, Strong, and there is no number, Its teeth [are] the teeth of a lion, And it hath the jaw-teeth of a lioness.
Ta adda nasion a nangraut iti dagak, nabileg ken saan a mabilang. Dagiti ngipenna ket kas kadagiti ngipen ti leon, ken addaan isuna iti ngipen ti babai a leon.
7 It hath made my vine become a desolation, And my fig-tree become a chip, It hath made it thoroughly bare, and hath cast down, Made white have been its branches.
Pinagbalinna ti kaubasak a nakabutbuteng a lugar ken inukkisanna dagiti kayok nga igos. Inukkisanna sana imbelleng dagitoy; pimmuraw dagiti sangada.
8 Wail, as a virgin girdeth with sackcloth, For the husband of her youth.
Agladingitkayo a kas iti maysa a birhen a nagkawes iti nakersang a lupot gapu iti ipapatay ti pakayasawaanna.
9 Cut off hath been present and libation from the house of Jehovah, Mourned have the priests, ministrants of Jehovah.
Naibusen ti daton a bukel ken daton a mainum iti balay ni Yahweh. Nagladingit dagiti papadi nga adipen ni Yahweh.
10 Spoiled is the field, mourned hath the ground, For spoiled is the corn, Dried up hath been new wine, languish doth oil.
Nadadaelen dagiti taltalon, ket agladladingit ti daga. Ta nadadaelen dagiti bukbukel, natianan ti baro nga arak, ken nabangles ti lana.
11 Be ashamed, ye husbandmen, Howl, vine-dressers, for wheat and for barley, For perished hath the harvest of the field.
Agbainkayo, dakayo a mannalon, ken aganug-ogkayo, dakayo a mangay-aywan iti kaubasan, gapu iti trigo ken sebada. Ta nadadael ti apit kadagiti taltalon.
12 The vine hath been dried up, And the fig-tree doth languish, Pomegranate, also palm, and apple-tree, All trees of the field have withered, For dried up hath been joy from the sons of men.
Nalaylay dagiti lanut ken nagango dagiti kayo nga igos, dagiti kayo a granada, kasta met dagiti kayo a palma, ken dagiti kayo a mansanas- nalaylay amin a kayo iti talon. Ta napukawen ti rag-o dagiti kaputotan ti sangkataoan.
13 Gird, and lament, ye priests, Howl, ye ministrants of the altar, Come in, lodge in sackcloth, ministrants of my God, For withheld from the house of your God hath been present and libation.
Agkaweskayo iti nakersang a lupot ket agladingitkayo, dakayo a papadi! Aganug-ogkayo, dakayo nga agserserbi iti altar. Umaykayo, agiddakayo nga agpatpatnag a sikakawes iti nakersang a lupot, dakayo nga adipen ti Diosko. Ta naibusen dagiti daton a bukbukel ken dagiti daton a mainum iti balay ti Diosyo.
14 Sanctify a fast, proclaim a restraint, Gather the elders — all the inhabitants of the land, [Into] the house of Jehovah your God,
Mangangaykayo iti nasantoan a panagayunar, ket mangangaykayo iti nasantoan a gimong. Ummongenyo dagiti panglakayen ken dagiti amin nga agnanaed iti daga iti balay ni Yahweh a Diosyo ket umasugkayo kenni Yahweh.
15 And cry unto Jehovah, 'Alas for the day! For near [is] a day of Jehovah, And as destruction from the mighty it cometh.
Anian a nakabutbuteng nga aldaw! Ta umadanin ti aldaw ni Yahweh. Iti daytoy nga aldaw, iyegto ti Mannakabalin-amin ti pannakadadael.
16 Is not before our eyes food cut off? From the house of our God joy and rejoicing?
Saan kadi a napukawen dagiti taraon iti imatangtayo, ken naawanen ti rag-o ken ragsak iti balay ti Diostayo?
17 Rotted have scattered things under their clods, Desolated have been storehouses, Broken down have been granaries, For withered hath the corn.
Nalungtot dagiti bukel kadagiti nakaimulaanda, naibusen ti naggian dagiti sarusa ken narban dagiti kamalig, ta nalaylay dagiti mula.
18 How have cattle sighed! Perplexed have been droves of oxen, For there is no pasture for them, Also droves of sheep have been desolated.
Anian ti panagasug dagiti ayup! Agsagsagaba dagiti arban ti baka gapu ta awan ti pagarabanda. Agsagsagaba met dagiti arban dagiti karnero.
19 Unto Thee, O Jehovah, I do call, For fire hath consumed comely places of a wilderness, And a flame hath set on fire all trees of the field.
O, Yahweh, umas-asugak kenka. Ta inkisap ti apuy dagiti pagpaaraban idiay let-ang, ken inuram ti gil-ayab dagiti amin a kayo kadagiti tay-ak.
20 Also the cattle of the field long for Thee, For dried up have been streams of water, And fire hath consumed comely places of a wilderness!'
Uray pay dagiti ayup iti tay-ak ket agpakpakaasi kenka, ta natianan dagiti waig ken inkisap ti apuy dagiti pagpaaraban idiay let-ang.
