< Job 9 >
1 And Job answereth and saith: —
Ndipo Yobu anayankha kuti,
2 Truly I have known that [it is] so, And what — is man righteous with God?
“Zoonadi, ndikudziwa kuti zimenezi ndi zoona. Koma munthu angathe bwanji kukhala wolungama pamaso pa Mulungu?
3 If he delight to strive with Him — He doth not answer him one of a thousand.
Ngakhale wina atafuna kutsutsana naye, Iye sangamuyankhe munthuyo ngakhale mawu amodzi omwe.
4 Wise in heart and strong in power — Who hath hardened toward Him and is at peace?
Mulungu ndi wa nzeru zambiri ndipo mphamvu zake ndi zochuluka. Ndani analimbana naye popanda kupwetekeka?
5 Who is removing mountains, And they have not known, Who hath overturned them in His anger.
Iye amasuntha mapiri, mapiriwo osadziwa, ndipo amawagubuduza ali wokwiya.
6 Who is shaking earth from its place, And its pillars move themselves.
Iye amagwedeza dziko lapansi kulisuntha pamalo pake ndipo amanjenjemeretsa mizati yake.
7 Who is speaking to the sun, and it riseth not, And the stars He sealeth up.
Iye amayankhula ndi dzuwa ndipo siliwala; Iyeyo amaphimba kuwala kwa nyenyezi.
8 Stretching out the heavens by Himself, And treading on the heights of the sea,
Ndi Mulungu yekha amene anayala mayiko akumwamba ndipo amayenda pa mafunde a pa nyanja.
9 Making Osh, Kesil, and Kimah, And the inner chambers of the south.
Iye ndiye mlengi wa nyenyezi zamlalangʼamba ndi akamwiniatsatana, nsangwe ndi kumpotosimpita.
10 Doing great things till there is no searching, And wonderful, till there is no numbering.
Iye amachita zozizwitsa zimene sizimvetsetseka, zodabwitsa zimene sizingawerengeke.
11 Lo, He goeth over by me, and I see not, And He passeth on, and I attend not to it.
Akapita pafupi ndi ine sindingathe kumuona; akadutsa, sindingathe kumuzindikira.
12 Lo, He snatches away, who bringeth it back? Who saith unto Him, 'What dost Thou?'
Ngati Iye alanda zinthu, ndani angathe kumuletsa? Ndani anganene kwa Iye kuti, ‘Mukuchita chiyani?’
13 God doth not turn back His anger, Under Him bowed have proud helpers.
Mulungu sabweza mkwiyo wake; ngakhale gulu lankhondo la Rahabe linawerama pa mapazi ake.
14 How much less do I — I answer Him? Choose out my words with Him?
“Nanga ine ndingathe kukangana naye bwanji? Ndingawapeze kuti mawu oti nʼkutsutsana naye?
15 Whom, though I were righteous, I answer not, For my judgment I make supplication.
Ngakhale nditakhala wosalakwa, sindingamuyankhe; ndikanangopempha chifundo kwa woweruza wanga.
16 Though I had called and He answereth me, I do not believe that He giveth ear [to] my voice.
Ngakhale ndikanamuyitana ndipo Iye ndi kuvomera, sindikhulupirira kuti akanamva mawu angawo.
17 Because with a tempest He bruiseth me, And hath multiplied my wounds for nought.
Iye akanandikantha ndi mphepo yamkuntho, ndipo akanandipweteka popanda chifukwa.
18 He permitteth me not to refresh my spirit, But filleth me with bitter things.
Mulungu sakanandilola kuti ndipumenso koma akanandichulukitsira zowawa.
19 If of power, lo, the Strong One; And if of judgment — who doth convene me?
Tikanena za mphamvu, Iye ndi wamphamvudi! Ndipo tikanena za chiweruzo cholungama, ndani angamuzenge mlandu?
20 If I be righteous, Mine mouth doth declare me wicked, Perfect I am! — it declareth me perverse.
Ngakhale ndikanakhala wosalakwa, zoyankhula zanga zikananditsutsa; ndikanakhala wopanda cholakwa, pakamwa panga pakanandipeza wolakwa.
21 Perfect I am! — I know not my soul, I despise my life.
“Ngakhale ine ndili wosalakwa, sindidziyenereza ndekha; moyo wanga ndimawupeputsa.
22 It is the same thing, therefore I said, 'The perfect and the wicked He is consuming.'
Zonse nʼzofanana; nʼchifukwa chake ndikuti, ‘Iye amawononga anthu osalakwa ndi anthu oyipa omwe.’
23 If a scourge doth put to death suddenly, At the trial of the innocent He laugheth.
Pamene mkwapulo ubweretsa imfa yadzidzidzi, Iye amaseka tsoka la munthu wosalakwayo.
24 Earth hath been given Into the hand of the wicked one. The face of its judges he covereth, If not — where, who [is] he?
Pamene dziko lagwa mʼmanja mwa anthu oyipa Iye amawatseka maso anthu oweruza dzikolo. Ngati si Iyeyo, nanga ndani?
25 My days have been swifter than a runner, They have fled, they have not seen good,
“Masiku anga ndi othamanga kwambiri kupambana munthu waliwiro; masikuwo amapita ine osaonapo zabwino.
26 They have passed on with ships of reed, As an eagle darteth on food.
Amayenda ngati mabwato a njedza pa nyanja, ngati mphungu zothamangira nyama zoti zidye.
27 Though I say, 'I forget my talking, I forsake my corner, and I brighten up!'
Nʼtanena kuti, ‘Ndidzayiwala madandawulo anga, ndidzasintha nkhope yanga ndipo ndidzasekerera,’
28 I have been afraid of all my griefs, I have known that Thou dost not acquit me.
ndikuopabe mavuto anga onse, popeza ndikudziwa kuti simudzavomereza kuti ndine wosalakwa.
29 I — I am become wicked; why [is] this? [In] vain I labour.
Popeza ndapezeka kale wolakwa ndivutikirenji popanda phindu?
30 If I have washed myself with snow-water, And purified with soap my hands,
Ngakhale nditasamba mʼmadzi oyera kwambiri ndi kusamba mʼmanja mwanga ndi sopo,
31 Then in corruption Thou dost dip me, And my garments have abominated me.
mutha kundiponyabe pa dzala, kotero kuti ngakhale zovala zanga zomwe zidzandinyansa.
32 But if a man like myself — I answer him, We come together into judgment.
“Mulungu si munthu ngati ine kuti ndithe kumuyankha, sindingathe kutsutsana naye mʼbwalo la milandu.
33 If there were between us an umpire, He doth place his hand on us both.
Pakanapezeka munthu wina kuti akhale mʼkhalapakati wathu, kuti atibweretse ife tonse pamodzi,
34 He doth turn aside from off me his rod, And His terror doth not make me afraid,
munthu wina woti achotse ndodo ya Mulungu pa ine kuti kuopsa kwake kusandichititsenso mantha!
35 I speak, and do not fear Him, But I am not right with myself.
Pamenepo ine ndikanatha kuyankhula mosamuopa Mulunguyo, koma monga zililimu, sindingathe.
