< Job 8 >
1 And Bildad the Shuhite answereth and saith: —
To naah Shuh acaeng Bildah mah,
2 Till when dost thou speak these things? And a strong wind — sayings of thy mouth?
hae baktih hmuen kawngnawk hae vai nazetto maw na thuih han vop? Na pakha hoi tacawt loknawk loe nasetto maw takhi baktiah thacak vop tih?
3 Doth God pervert judgment? And doth the Mighty One pervert justice?
Sithaw loe katoeng ai ah lokcaek maw? Katoeng ah lokcaekhaih to Thacak Sithaw mah phrae ving tih maw?
4 If thy sons have sinned before Him, And He doth send them away, By the hand of their transgression,
Na caanawk mah a nuiah hmuen sakpazae o pongah, a sakpazae o haih baktih toengah, anih mah nihcae to thuitaek;
5 If thou dost seek early unto God, And unto the Mighty makest supplication,
toe Sithaw khaeah nang qoi moe, Thacak Sithaw khaeah tahmenhaih na hnik nahaeloe,
6 If pure and upright thou [art], Surely now He waketh for thee, And hath completed The habitation of thy righteousness.
na ciim moe, na toeng nahaeloe, vaihi nang hanah angthawk ueloe, katoengah kho na sakhaih ahmuen to qoengsak tih.
7 And thy beginning hath been small, And thy latter end is very great.
Nam tong tangsuek naah thoengkae cadoeh, hnukkhuem ah loe lensawkhaih hoiah na qoeng tahang tih.
8 For, ask I pray thee of a former generation, And prepare to a search of their fathers,
Kalaem tangcae atue to dueng ah, nam panawk mah tongh o ih hmuennawk to dueng ah loe poek ah;
9 (For of yesterday we [are], and we know not, For a shadow [are] our days on earth.)
(aicae loe zangduem ah ni tapen o vop, to pongah tidoeh a panoek o ai, long nuiah aicae khosakhaih aninawk loe tahlip ah ni oh.)
10 Do they not shew thee — speak to thee, And from their heart bring forth words?
Nihcae mah loe palung tang hoi patuk ueloe, na thuitaek o mak ai maw?
11 'Doth a rush wise without mire? A reed increase without water?
Cakrungkung baktih akung loe tangnong om ai ahmuen ah amprawk thai maw? Tui taeng ih phroh loe tui om ai ah ampraek thai maw?
12 While it [is] in its budding — uncropped, Even before any herb it withereth.
To akung loe amprawk tahang naah, aqam hing suep pongah mi mah doeh aat ai; toe kalah qam pongah azaem zoi kue.
13 So [are] the paths of all forgetting God, And the hope of the profane doth perish,
Sithaw pahnet kaminawk caehhaih loklam doeh to tiah oh; Sithaw tidoeh sah ai kami oephaih loe amro tih.
14 Whose confidence is loathsome, And the house of a spider his trust.
Nihcae oephaih loklam loe amro tih, nihcae amhahaih loe bongpaha tazae baktiah ni om tih.
15 He leaneth on his house — and it standeth not: He taketh hold on it — and it abideth not.
Anih loe angmah im ah amha, toe angdoe thai ai; a ban hoi patawnh, toe cak ai.
16 Green he [is] before the sun, And over his garden his branch goeth out.
To baktih kami loe ni bet naah hing suep moe, tanghang mah takha to khuk boih.
17 By a heap his roots are wrapped, A house of stones he looketh for.
A tangzun mah thlung to zaeng boih moe, thlung salakah tangzun sakhaih ahmuen to pakrong.
18 If [one] doth destroy him from his place, Then it hath feigned concerning him, I have not seen thee!
Toe kami mah a ohhaih ahmuen hoiah aphongh ving naah loe, a ohhaih ahmuen mah anih khaeah, Nang hae kang hnuh vai ai, tiah naa ueloe, angphat taak tih.
19 Lo, this [is] the joy of his way, And from the dust others spring up.'
Khenah, anih anghoehaih loklam loe to tiah oh; anih amprawkhaih ahmuen ah, kalah thingnawk to amprawk o lat tih.
20 Lo, God doth not reject the perfect, Nor taketh hold on the hand of evil doers.
Khenah, coek koi om ai kami to Sithaw mah haek ai; kasae hmuen sah kami doeh abomh ai:
21 While he filleth with laughter thy mouth, And thy lips with shouting,
anih mah na pakha to pahnuisak ueloe, na pahni to anghoehaih hoiah koisak tih.
22 Those hating thee do put on shame, And the tent of the wicked is not!
Nang hnuma kaminawk to azatsak tih, kasae kami ohhaih im to anghma tih boeh, tiah a naa.
