< Job 29 >
1 And Job addeth to lift up his simile, and saith: —
Yobu n’ayongera okwogera nti,
2 Who doth make me as [in] months past, As [in] the days of God's preserving me?
“Nga nneegomba emyezi egyayita, ennaku Katonda mwe yali nga y’andabirira,
3 In His causing His lamp to shine on my head, By His light I walk [through] darkness.
ettaala ye bwe yayakiranga omutwe gwange, n’ekitangaala kye bwe kyanjakiranga nga ntambulira mu kizikiza.
4 As I have been in days of my maturity, And the counsel of God upon my tent.
Mu biro we nabeerera ow’amaanyi, omukwano gwa Katonda omuyitirivu nga gukuuma amaka gange,
5 When yet the Mighty One [is] with me. Round about me — my young ones,
Ayinzabyonna bwe yali ng’akyali nange n’abaana bange nga bakyanneetoolodde,
6 When washing my goings with butter, And the firm rock [is] with me rivulets of oil.
n’ekkubo lyange nga lisiigiddwa omuzigo n’olwazi nga lunfukirira omugga ogw’amafuta.
7 When I go out to the gate by the city, In a broad place I prepare my seat.
“Bwe nalaganga ku mulyango gw’ekibuga ne ntuula ku ntebe mu kifo we baakubiranga enkiiko,
8 Seen me have youths, and they, been hidden, And the aged have risen — they stood up.
abavubuka abato bandabanga ne badda ebbali, abakadde ne basituka ne bayimirira;
9 Princes have kept in words, And a hand they place on their mouth.
abakungu ab’oku ntikko ne balekeraawo okwogera, ne bakwata ne ku mimwa;
10 The voice of leaders hath been hidden, And their tongue to the palate hath cleaved.
ab’ebitiibwa ne balekeraawo okwogera, ennimi zaabwe ne zeesibira waggulu mu kamwa.
11 For the ear heard, and declareth me happy, And the eye hath seen, and testifieth [to] me.
Buli kutu okwampuliranga nga kwesiima, era n’abo abandabanga nga basiima
12 For I deliver the afflicted who is crying, And the fatherless who hath no helper.
kubanga nawonyanga abaavu abaakaabiranga obuyambi, n’abatalina bakitaabwe abatalina abayamba.
13 The blessing of the perishing cometh on me, And the heart of the widow I cause to sing.
Omusajja ng’afa, y’ansabira omukisa, ne ndeetera omutima gwa nnamwandu okuyimba.
14 Righteousness I have put on, and it clotheth me, As a robe and a diadem my justice.
Ne nnyambala obutuukirivu ng’engoye zange, obwenkanya bwe bwali omunagiro gwange era ekitambala kye neesiba ku mutwe.
15 Eyes I have been to the blind, And feet to the lame [am] I.
Nnali maaso g’abamuzibe era ebigere by’abalema.
16 A father I [am] to the needy, And the cause I have not known I search out.
Nnali kitaawe w’abanaku, ne nneyama okuwolereza besimanyiiko.
17 And I break the jaw-teeth of the perverse, And from his teeth I cast away prey.
Namenyanga amannyo g’abakozi b’ebibi, ne nziggya mu kamwa kaabwe, be baali bakutte.
18 And I say, 'With my nest I expire, And as the sand I multiply days.'
“Nalowooza nti, ‘Ndifiira mu nnyumba yange nga mpezezza ennaku zange nga nnyingi ng’omusenyu ogw’oku nnyanja.
19 My root is open unto the waters, And dew doth lodge on my branch.
Omulandira gwange gulituuka mu mazzi, era n’omusulo gulibeera ku ttabi lyange okukeesa obudde.
20 My honour [is] fresh with me, And my bow in my hand is renewed.
Ekitiibwa kyange tekirikaddiwa mu nze, n’omutego gwange ogw’akasaale gusigale nga tegukaddiye mu mukono gwange.’
21 To me they have hearkened, Yea, they wait, and are silent for my counsel.
“Abantu beesunganga okumpuliriza, nga balindirira mu kasirise amagezi gange.
22 After my word they change not, And on them doth my speech drop,
Bwe namalanga okwogera, nga tewaba addayo kwogera, ebigambo byange byagwanga mpola mpola mu matu gaabwe.
23 And they wait as [for] rain for me, And their mouth they have opened wide [As] for the latter rain.
Bannindiriranga ng’enkuba ne banywa ebigambo byange ng’enkuba eya ttoggo.
24 I laugh unto them — they give no credence, And the light of my face cause not to fall.
Bwe nabamwenyeranga nga tebakikkiriza; ekitangaala ky’oku maaso gange kyali kya muwendo gye bali.
25 I choose their way, and sit head, And I dwell as a king in a troop, When mourners he doth comfort.
Nabasalirangawo eky’okukola, ne ntuula nga kabaka n’amaggye ge; nnali ng’abo ababeesabeesa abakungubazi.”
