< Job 27 >
1 And Job addeth to lift up his simile, and saith: —
and to add: again Job to lift: loud proverb his and to say
2 God liveth! He turned aside my judgment, And the Mighty — He made my soul bitter.
alive God to turn aside: remove justice my and Almighty to provoke soul my
3 For all the while my breath [is] in me, And the spirit of God in my nostrils.
for all still breath my in/on/with me and spirit god in/on/with face: nose my
4 My lips do not speak perverseness, And my tongue doth not utter deceit.
if: surely no to speak: speak lips my injustice and tongue my if: surely no to mutter deceit
5 Pollution to me — if I justify you, Till I expire I turn not aside mine integrity from me.
forbid to/for me if: surely yes to justify [obj] you till to die not to turn aside: remove integrity my from me
6 On my righteousness I have laid hold, And I do not let it go, My heart doth not reproach me while I live.
in/on/with righteousness my to strengthen: hold and not to slacken her not to taunt heart my from day my
7 As the wicked is my enemy, And my withstander as the perverse.
to be like/as wicked enemy my and to arise: attack me like/as unjust
8 For what [is] the hope of the profane, When He doth cut off? When God doth cast off his soul?
for what? hope profane for to cut off for to extract god soul: life his
9 His cry doth God hear, When distress cometh on him?
cry his to hear: hear God for to come (in): come upon him distress
10 On the Mighty doth he delight himself? Call God at all times?
if: surely yes upon Almighty to delight to call: call to god in/on/with all time
11 I shew you by the hand of God, That which [is] with the Mighty I hide not.
to show [obj] you in/on/with hand: power God which with Almighty not to hide
12 Lo, ye — all of you — have seen, And why [is] this — ye are altogether vain?
look! you(m. p.) all your to see and to/for what? this vanity to become vain
13 This [is] the portion of wicked man with God, And the inheritance of terrible ones From the Mighty they receive.
this portion man wicked with God and inheritance ruthless from Almighty to take: recieve
14 If his sons multiply — for them [is] a sword. And his offspring [are] not satisfied [with] bread.
if to multiply son: child his upon sword and offspring his not to satisfy food: bread
15 His remnant in death are buried, And his widows do not weep.

16 If he heap up as dust silver, And as clay prepare clothing,
if to heap like/as dust silver: money and like/as clay to establish: prepare garment
17 He prepareth — and the righteous putteth [it] on, And the silver the innocent doth apportion.
to establish: prepare and righteous to clothe and silver: money innocent to divide
18 He hath built as a moth his house, And as a booth a watchman hath made.
to build like/as moth house: home his and like/as booth to make to watch
19 Rich he lieth down, and he is not gathered, His eyes he hath opened, and he is not.
rich to lie down: sleep and not to gather eye his to open and nothing he
20 Overtake him as waters do terrors, By night stolen him away hath a whirlwind.
to overtake him like/as water terror night to steal him whirlwind
21 Take him up doth an east wind, and he goeth, And it frighteneth him from his place,
to lift: bear him east and to go: went and to storm him from place his
22 And it casteth at him, and doth not spare, From its hand he diligently fleeth.
and to throw upon him and not to spare from hand: power his to flee to flee
23 It clappeth at him its hands, And it hisseth at him from his place.
to slap upon them palm their and to whistle upon him from place his
