< Job 23 >

1 And Job answereth and saith: —
Eka Ayub nodwoko niya,
2 Also — to-day [is] my complaint bitter, My hand hath been heavy because of my sighing.
“Kata kawuono pod aywagora ka an gi chuny malit; nikech kum mapek ma Nyasaye oketo kuoma miya achur ka an gi rem malich.
3 O that I had known — and I find Him, I come in unto His seat,
Ka dine bed ni angʼeyo kuma dayudie Nyasaye; kendo kata dabed ni anyalo dhi nyaka kuma odakie;
4 I arrange before Him the cause, And my mouth fill [with] arguments.
to dine aterone ywakna, kendo anyise gik mopongʼo chunya,
5 I know the words He doth answer me, And understand what He saith to me.
mondo afweny gima doduoka kendo angʼe gima onyalo wacho.
6 In the abundance of power doth He strive with me? No! surely He putteth [it] in me.
Bende doti gi tekone maduongʼ mondo okweda? Ooyo, ok dochun weche kuoma ni an jaketho.
7 There the upright doth reason with Him, And I escape for ever from my judge.
Kuno ema ngʼama ja-adiera teroe ywakne, kendo kuno ema jal mangʼadona bura diweyae thuolo.
8 Lo, forward I go — and He is not, And backward — and I perceive him not.
“To kata ka adhi yo wuok chiengʼ to oonge kuno; ka adhi yo podho chiengʼ bende ok ayude.
9 [To] the left in His working — and I see not, He is covered [on] the right, and I behold not.
Ka odich otiyo yo nyandwat, to ok anene; to ka olokore ochomo yo milambo to kuno bende ok anyal nene.
10 For He hath known the way with me, He hath tried me — as gold I go forth.
To ongʼeyo yora maluwo; bangʼ tema to abiro wuok aa e tem ka achalo dhahabu.
11 On His step hath my foot laid hold, His way I have kept, and turn not aside,
Tiendena osebedo kaluwo okangene adimba; asebedo ka aluwo yorene ma ok abar.
12 The command of His lips, and I depart not. Above my allotted portion I have laid up The sayings of His mouth.
Pok aweyo mak aluwo chike mowuok e dhoge; to asekawo weche mowuok e dhoge kaka mwandu maduongʼ moloyo chiemba mapile.
13 And He [is] in one [mind], And who doth turn Him back? And His soul hath desired — and He doth [it].
“En to ochungʼ kar kende, koso en ngʼa madipiem kode? Otimo gima en owuon ema ohero.
14 For He doth complete my portion, And many such things [are] with Him.
Obiro chopo gima nosechano chon, kendo pod en gi chenro machal kamago mokanona mathoth.
15 Therefore, from His presence I am troubled, I consider, and am afraid of Him.
Mano emomiyo kibaji maduongʼ omaka e nyime, kendo kaparo gigi duto to amiye luor.
16 And God hath made my heart soft, And the Mighty hath troubled me.
Nyasaye osemiyo chunya ool; Jehova Nyasaye Maratego osemiyo kibaji omaka.
17 For I have not been cut off before darkness, And before me He covered thick darkness.
Kata bed ni mudho odino wangʼa kamano, to mudhono ok nyal miya luoro.
