< Job 11 >
1 And Zophar the Naamathite answereth and saith: —
Naamatitɔ, Zofar ɖo eŋu na Hiob be,
2 Is a multitude of words not answered? And is a man of lips justified?
“Ɖe woagbe nya siawo ŋu ɖoɖo na wòa? Ɖe woabe nyawɔla sia tɔ dzɔa?
3 Thy devices make men keep silent, Thou scornest, and none is causing blushing!
Ɖe wò nya dzodzro siawo ade ga nu na amewoa? Ɖe ame aɖeke meli aka mo na wò ne èle fewu ɖum oa?
4 And thou sayest, 'Pure [is] my discourse, And clean I have been in Thine eyes.'
Ègblɔ na Mawu be ‘Kpɔtsɔtsɔ mele nu siwo dzi mexɔ se la ŋu o eye medza le ŋkuwòme.’
5 And yet, O that God had spoken! And doth open His lips with thee.
O, aleke medi be Mawu naƒo nu, ne wòake eƒe nuyiwo ɖe ŋutiwò,
6 And declare to thee secrets of wisdom, For counsel hath foldings. And know thou that God forgetteth for thee, [Some] of thine iniquity.
ne wòaɖe nunya ƒe nu ɣaɣlawo afia wò elabena mo evee li na nunya. Vavã, nya esia be: Mawu ŋlɔ wò nu vɔ̃wo dometɔ aɖewo be gɔ̃ hã.
7 By searching dost thou find out God? Unto perfection find out the Mighty One?
“Àte ŋu ase Mawu ƒe nya goglowo gɔmea? Àte ŋu adzro Ŋusẽkatãtɔ la ƒe mlɔenuwo ke mea?
8 Heights of the heavens! — what dost thou? Deeper than Sheol! — what knowest thou? (Sheol )
Wokɔkɔ wu dziƒowo, nu ka nàte ŋu awɔ? Wogoglo wu tsiẽƒe ƒe gogloƒewo, nu ka nènya? (Sheol )
9 Longer than earth [is] its measure, And broader than the sea.
Wodidi wu anyigba eye wokeke wu atsiaƒu.
10 If He pass on, and shut up, and assemble, Who then dost reverse it?
Ke ne eva do, hede wò gaxɔ me eye wòdrɔ̃ ʋɔnu wò la, ame ka ate ŋu atsi tsitre ɖe eŋu?
11 For he hath known men of vanity, And He seeth iniquity, And one doth not consider [it]!
Vavã enyaa alakpatɔwo eye ne ekpɔ nu vɔ̃ɖi la, ɖe medzea sii oa?
12 And empty man is bold, And the colt of a wild ass man is born.
Gake abe ale si gbetedzi mate ŋu adzi vi wòanye amegbetɔ o ene la, nenema kee womate ŋu awɔ bometsila hã wòazu nunyala o.
13 If thou — thou hast prepared thy heart, And hast spread out unto Him thy hands,
“Ke hã la, ne ètsɔ wò dzi nɛ blibo, ne èwu wò asiwo dzi do ɖe egbɔ,
14 If iniquity [is] in thy hand, put it far off, And let not perverseness dwell in thy tents.
ne èɖe nu vɔ̃ siwo le wò asi me la ɖa eye ne mèɖe mɔ na nu vɔ̃ɖi aɖeke be wòanɔ wò agbadɔ me o la,
15 For then thou liftest up thy face from blemish, And thou hast been firm, and fearest not.
ekema àkɔ wò mo dzi ŋukpemanɔmee, ànɔ te sesĩe eye mavɔ̃ o.
16 For thou dost forget misery, As waters passed away thou rememberest.
Le nyateƒe me la, àŋlɔ wò hiãkame be eye àɖo ŋku edzi ko abe tsi sisi si nu va yi la ene.
17 And above the noon doth age rise, Thou fliest — as the morning thou art.
Wò agbe me akɔ wu ŋdɔkutsu dzati eye viviti anɔ na wò abe ŋdikekeli ene.
18 And thou hast trusted because their is hope, And searched — in confidence thou liest down,
Ànɔ dedie elabena mɔkpɔkpɔ li, àtsa ŋku godoo eye àmlɔ anyi bɔkɔɔ le dedinɔnɔ me.
19 And thou hast rested, And none is causing trembling, And many have entreated thy face;
Àmlɔ anyi eye ame aɖeke mava do ŋɔdzi na wò o; ale ame geɖewo ava bia amenuveve tso gbɔwò.
20 And the eyes of the wicked are consumed, And refuge hath perished from them, And their hope [is] a breathing out of soul!
Ke ɖeɖi ate ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe ŋkuwo ŋu, bebeƒe abu ɖe wo eye woƒe mɔkpɔkpɔ azu kudɔƒoƒo.”
